... and, FWIW, he drives me nuts. He is clearly hyper-intelligent. But - and it didn't really happen on this show - he SO often works his way down into an admittedly inventive rabbit hole - relishing its inventiveness and thoroughly enjoying ridiculing anyone who dare think otherwise. The anachronistic thing? He grotesquely overplays it, to my taste - beyond any notion of productive paradigm-breaking and well into the realm of pure self-promotion. Here, he demonstrated the quality of respectful disagreement that I relish - on his own blogs? Nahh.
One thing I do respect about Bernie is that he doesn’t like to mess around, you can tell he was getting annoyed with the silly questions that ultimately aren’t important in the world
I like Russell and think he makes great points, but I think he tends to filibuster a little too long and that makes it hard to have a great conversation sometimes. It can make for some very funny and entertaining conversation though and I think people do expect that from him, but if you had just him and Bernie for instance I would hope he would get a little more serious.
He tried baiting them several times into contrived responses but all they did was poke fun at how trivial the topics were that Bill was trying to discuss
I love it that Bernie was genuinely enjoying Russel's slating of the Brit awards as 'meaningless'. I think they both agree that there are more important issues to discuss.
I think that Sander's certainly enjoys a show where somebody is laughing and having a good time (the way a 3 year old enjoys cocomelon), but I don't think Bernie is capable of having a logical discussion about anything outside of advocating for a world government, preferably one that pays him money to talk about such things; like the WHO... or China.

Republicans are ignored as Democrats force policies that create more poverty and homelessness including:
Rent Control: In theory it sounds good to prevent rent from increasing on poor; but multiple studies show it causes housing shortages that reduce the number of low-income people who can live in a city while raising the demand for housing. Further, it deters new housing construction and worsens the homelessness problem creating more homelessness than homes avaliable. And the highest drug use and crime and so on.
@@scarletbegonias2359 it’s funny, the only reason I’m here is for brand. Mahr is a meat head
Bernie is like slag...just crummy useless slag. Russell however is gold
If Russell was a game character his charisma would be game breaking.
Please bring Russell back again. He's so refreshingly real. And then smart and funny, too. Bernie was also surprisingly great. Great show
You should have more of Bernie and Russell on the show!!!This is one of your best segments!!!
Bernie is a corporate soldout
Russel Brand and Bernie Sanders together is AMAZING!!!
They should run as Independents in 2024...could you see Russell Brand as vice president and he is intelligent and would" flabbergast the stupid Republicans and McCarthy wouldn't stand a chance in a debate against Russell Brand!!
id be there for it
@@lindadeal3344 😂 mate, brand is BRITISH, not everyone can be president. Plus they have completely opposing views.
When did Bernie become a neo-con?
@@lindadeal3344 Except Bernie is a slave to the DNC. His job is to sheep-herd uninformed leftists into voting against their own interests by perpetuating the lie that there's a difference between the two parties. Bernie doesn't have 1/100th the honesty, integrity and truthfulness that Russel speaks with. Bernie like all the other 70+ year olds in Congress need to retire, they've done enough damage to this country.
The way Bernie looked at Russell 😂 pure love
and vice versa.
Thumbs up for Russell Brand. "UFO's...wouldn't trip up in front of Elliot's house." Love RB. ❤️
One of your best shows, PLEASE have more episodes with Bernie and Russel, MAGICAL, thank you
Russell is funny and has the gift of gab but he is full of it. Lol If you watch his you tube show it’s all repetitive, reductive and simplistic… and the false equivalency between fox and msnbc/cnn that even bill Maher called him out on is just one example
Could t agree more
Even the dodging over equity and equality of outcome? I mean it goes against the very nature of the socialists and marxists to speak against equity. It was as if someone put landmines very six inches around the set. Frightened turtles.
They are absolutley equivalent
Maybe they aren't exactly equal in their biases but they all have them. Not one channel or anchor delivers the news as is. It all goes through a narrative filter and Brand pointed out that demonizing one while ignoring the others isn't a healthy way forward. I find the resistance to hope for a better tomorrow through cooperation no matter what channel is your fave interesting and very telling.
Never thought I'd grow to love Russell Brand when I hated him as a actor. But he's one of my favorite truth tellers out here right now!
Far from the actual truth. He makes good observations from time to time, but nothing we haven't seen in Alex Jones or any other truth teller in the past.
@libertas5005 You ain't gonna find very many other people more on point. More understanding of the complexities and intricacies of all the politics he's engaging with.
Alex Jones is a different Breed entirely then Russell. But they both have the same goals which is to get the truth out to the average American who is being lied too on a grand scale unlike any time before.
@@libertas5005 far from the truth ? Yeah ok , why bc he doesn’t follow all the other sheep and follow the “science”. What a pant load. No true scientist shuts down debate. As for other stuff he talks about , he literally does his best to find the truth.
You see how Bernie’s answer to everything is world wide government to “control” pandemics and “global warming”. It’s all about control so the people can’t fight back the corruption, anyone who can’t see it is willfully blind
Haha, if you think he is telling the truth, then you are not a very smart human being, buddy. I also don't think you started to like him because he is telling the truth, but because he is telling what you want to hear and what you already believe. Do yourself a favor, don't just look for an echo chamber with some eloqent Russell, who is telling what you want to hear in a nicer language than what you are capable of, but do an actual research.
Russell is amazingly articulate.
Russell's face when Bill brings up the wet market...worth the entire episode.
Bill did a final New Rule about factory farming and the threat of pandemics, epidemics, and antibiotic resistance.
Here is the link- th-cam.com/video/-OoT2OZWCOI/w-d-xo.html
Yes, because he knows it is a lie. Russell is very involved in Covid 19 and studies it thoroughly, Unlike Bill Maher.
Yes, we all know Covid came from a LAB in China. The whole animals statement is part of the propagansda machine. Climate change is just an excuse to tax you and control you. It's an evil.
@@Carol-wo3jo The origins of Covid might be disputed but the ‘torturing of animals before we eat them’ IS THE POINT
Unbelievable Bill still on that bullshit
I'd love to have seen Russell and Bernie given some time to talk to each other
We can expect to see Bernie on Russell's show(s) sometime in the near future...
I think Bernie would have a very positive impact on Russell.
@@ciaranryan7303 LOL I think its the other way around. Russell is the best.

Not the usual boring yes people.
Bald dude was insufferable.
Russell Brand is a shockingly unexpected breath of fresh air. Bill saying 'it comes from Animals' was a reminded of that the old Bill is still in there deep down.
Yeah, totally ignored all the evidence that says it came from a lab.
He is a younger, more centric version of Bernie. Bernie is THE OG honest government representative who doesn’t take shit from billion dollar corporate shitheads.
Someone needs to let him know that Moderna patented DNA was found in COVID.
Maybe he'll mention it in two more years.
the very first emails/calls to fauchi they literally said the mutation in commie virus 19 weren’t possible to come from nature but could be made in a lab
Yet still uninformed and narrow-minded. Many experts believe it's lab leak but haven't said anything because there'd be huge backlash against Asians. Look what happened when trump called it China flu!

Absolutely ridiculous 😁
Bill The Shill was pushing it hard!
Yep
Funniest? That shit was infuriating

It was so nice to see Bernie Sanders enjoying himself with Russell Brand! Finally a decent episode with two great guests at the same time!
Bernie Sanders is not a great guest.
Socialism killed 100,000,000+ people in the 20th century. Bad ideas are BAD.
Lol Russell brand is a wack job
I agree .
The show itself might as well been called the Russell Brand,
And only the Russell Brand comedy hour .
I agree...so rare on a Maher show to find any use for any of the panelists.
This was a perfect lineup! Love Russell and Bernie!
Brand, another Brit failure hoping to find a US audience.
RUSSELL!👏👏👏Absolutely brilliant telling the real truths ! It's so hard to watch still SO many judging and dividing whilewe've had our lives ruined!! Shame on them all!😔💔👀❤🙏

"They didn't, I did!"
Sometimes Bernie is Savage 😎
Love it!
Absolutely! I do too.
I noticed that Bernie makes it a point to not make eye contact with anyone. I find that very odd
Bernie is like a tape recording. Just hit play and he can't be interrupted. Just says the same programmed things he's always said. Never gets challenged on what bs it is.
Bernard OG Sanders
Pandemics..FFS 🙄
A "Pandemic" occurs when ALL groups regardless of age are affected equally by the virus...everyone dies regardless of risk group..
A "Epidemic" is an event where different groups are affected differently , as in the very young and the very old being affected far more than the people in the middle. ........My question...Which fits what they told us was happening over the last 3 years and why use the term incorrectly ? (fear mongering that's why )
QUIT FOSTERING HYSTERIA BERNIE....🙄 Why not simply remind people we have been having seasonal flu epidemics for millennia and will likely continue to do so because it's part of nature and not to panic...🙄fercrissake you people are either dumb as rocks or disingenuous on your true intentions...
Russell is just the best! I have so much respect for him.

Brilliant. Sharp, witty, typical British humour from Russell.
When Bernie said "no" on that daylight savings time 🤣💀

He should have him back by himself.
Man, Russell Brand really killed it. I love this guy, and Bernie was great as well. It's most definitely one of the best real-time episodes in a long time.
Russell is a trumper and bashes dems all the time but not gop. Go to his youtube videos. He acted the opposite on Bill Maher. Hypocrite comedian.
Have you seen a chanel? He' is a far right complotist. For him Trudeau is the worst dictator and Putin a poor victim.
yes, though they left out one of the best parts ... Russell going on about the CCP propaganda from MSNBC and Commie News Network (by proxy) ... and the inept "journalist" attempting to defend such rampant and obvous propaganda, lies, accusations and innuendo from legacy media.
They are all corrupt and they - in the media are all cowards. Russell was on point - yet this clip they seem to have missed the best bits!
except for the wet market part
Russell Brand killed it alright... he killed my brain! The longer I listen to him, the more points are shaved off my IQ score. He's pretentious, obnoxious and acts like Trump in a debate - won't shut the f*ck up to let others speak. His comedy is terrible… he's not funny... and now I can say he's terrible in real life?
Russell Brand and Bernie best combo ever
Russell looks at bill as if he was talking to a child lol this is epic
And how completely

Great seeing Russell on. He was definitely holding back quite a bit, but had a very tasteful appearance on the show.

@@Olsenator you should watch his show he has great guests and he allows his guests to talk without interrupting and he’s hilarious
@@tammyraby7630 well he is entertaining, but his grip on reality is....very narrow.
I was thinking the same thing. It's accessible, non deceptively liberal thought on this panel but he frequently has conservatives, and this overtime bit is people's questions. Yes chosen by producers, but well selected and broadreaching.
Brand's ability to transcend the mundane talking points presented, with humor, is brilliant. The talking points raised seem to be done with a condescension to the millions of people viewing this show; however, Brand's facial reactions are more than telling when these topics are raised. He brings a fresh approach to the show by telling it exactly like it is, e.g. the "Chinese Spy Balloon" being used as hot air for talking points, as opposed to the truth about what is really going on around us.
He deserves to have his own show and it would be a major hit with those of us that are fed up with the constant B.S. we have to wade through in our culture.
He has a TH-cam channel ;)
