I heard Toby Keith’s version before I heard Hosty’s original and LaRues version. I watched more of Hosty and LaRues videos since looking into the origin of this song and am now a fan of both. I probably would not have heard of either if not for Toby doing this song. Toby Keith brought a great song to a national audience and did it justice and Hosty and LaRue both have at least one new fan.
