I live two miles down the road from Hollywood Corners and what Toby didn’t mention is that he saved that business. For years it was just a small run down convenience store that was unable to survive when the main road was shut down for repairs. The store sat empty for the longest time and many of us feared it would be purchased, bulldozed and replaced by a modern store. Toby came in and saved the day. Now it’s a great place to go eat and hangout, listen to music, etc. I’m forever grateful for Toby saving Hollywood Corners! 🙂
@D Toby lives just a few miles away. Apparently he was a regular visitor to the convenience store before it closed. I have no knowledge of if he was interested all along or not, I just remember it sitting for a long time. I’d drive by regularly brainstorming on what kind of business could work there. I am glad it serves multiple purposes now, the corner is way nicer now. The old building had fallen into disrepair after sitting empty. They did a great job on the remodel! Toby played to a small invite-only crowd shortly after the reopening, I don’t think he’s played publicly there though. He has been spotted there grabbing lunch (the deli has great good). 🙂
Me too. Never seen this video till today which just appeared in my feed. Love Toby! Since 90’s. 😔🥺😭 The weight loss in him is indescribable but so apparent. Loved his tall burly physique. ❤🥰😍So seeing him in the last few vids and pics it was very apparent he wasn’t doing well. 💔
Toby won me over a few years ago when before a show, Merle Haggard was too sick to go on and Toby offered to stand in for him. Merle asked him which of his songs did he know, thinking Toby might be able to go out and do a few . Toby answered "All of them." And went out and did a full set of Merle's songs with Merle's band.

I grew up just a few miles down the road from that gas station/store. I remember getting peanut brittle and cokes with my grandpa there. Filling up the minnow bucket with my dad. The people there really are as nice as they say and the food even better. Thanks Toby for keeping it alive and Sammy you are Rock and Rolls nicest and greatest treasure.

A while back I noticed Sammy and Toby were good buddies, and I've grown to respect Mr. Toby, yea these two guys are both filthy rich but down to earth and understand what it means to have a true friend. Respect to both Sammy and Toby!! Praying both of you a healthy life !! Rock on!!!!
Damn, Toby's voice truly had presence. Fantastic low end. Wow. Love that song, too, great song (recorded in Key West). Sammy on the trailer stage belting out I Love This Bar... this is fantastic. Damn. Toby had so much more time. Sad to know he's gone.
@Toby Keith ♪ you have a lot of acreage. And you like to start businesses. Have you ever thought about setting some of that acreage aside for a tiny house village for the elderly? There is federal funding available. And you already have the land. Therefore, I don't think you would even need a lot of investment capital. To produce this tiny house village.
I met Toby Keith when he had first got a couple songs on the radio. I was 17 and thought to myself , " this is one of the most laid back fellers I've ever met" . We love him here in Oklahoma!
Safe travels ,Toby, as you ride on cowboy to a higher dimension. A true country Warrior and grateful I got to see you in concert. ~Peace and grace over your family💖

Such a class act Toby Keith was and how lucky we all were to share the world while he was singing his heart out. Godspeed cowboy and thanks for the years of memories you gifted us.
This man and his band are truly loved by our military. To us he's as American as Old Glory and the Eagle! I remember he played a show for us one night and we got mortared or bombed if you will. They played on after an attack and clear was given, like nothing happened. Think about that. No doubt they were scared who wouldn't be? Probably never hear him mention it but I was there. You're an exceptional man Mr. Keith God bless this man and his family.
I am a veteran that was serving when 9/11 happened. That's the time he decided he was an American badass. Fuck Toby Keith. He exploited all of us for album sales and recognition. He should have been over there getting blown apart by IEDs instead of the honorable men and women I was over there with.

I remember Toby doing an interview when Merle Haggard called in. Toby asked if he was legit and he said yes. Then he asked Toby to sing one of his songs. Toby said,"Which one? I know all of your songs!" I also heard that Toby helped Merle tour, when he was sick, so he could pay his bills.

That brought a few chuckles to me seeing the two of them have fun. Toby reminds me of one of my high school buddies who is always laughing and a well built dude but maybe not quite as big as Toby. This also made me feel a bit of loss wishing he could have stayed another 20 years to make and play his music. It is important to cherish and keep enjoying his work not just to keep him alive but more so because it does your soul good if you were a fan. Never met the man or saw him live but he made you feel attached to him.
I’m old & need to say…..Toby is my absolute favorite country singer. He is such a decent compassionate human being. I think I’d like this guy even if he couldn’t sing. Thanks you guys…..

He sang my favorite song Does That Blue Moon Ever Shine On You? It’s still one of my favorite songs of all time.
I pray he overcomes his illness
Absolutely agree!
Thanks for the love ,support and prayers , I would be back soon, am healthier than before thanks

1/18/2024 just saw this. Awesome and Toby Keith is one of the greatest singer, songwriters there is. God Bless you Toby and we're still praying for you!
They are comfortable with each.Good to see Toby relaxed in his environments
Can’t believe Toby hasn’t always been number one! Love his music!!
Hello Ma'am. Thanks for the likes on my page and all the support shown as a special fan of mine, i hope you don't stop listening to my music .
Sammy, I love all your interviews! But this one with Toby is one of my fav! Praying for you Toby...Beat the cancer!
@Toby Keith ♪ we love ya Toby!!! 🙏🏻❣️
@@tobykeithpagep Man I've known you longer than I would like to admit, always been a stand up guy and always stayed true to yourself, love ya brother!
Safe travels ,Toby, as you ride on cowboy to a higher dimension. A true country Warrior and grateful I got to see you in concert. ~Peace and grace over your family💖
Wow, these two guys are awesome...Toby in his 60's, and Sammy in his 70's woo hoo. I'm so glad to be sharing their age range, because I would have missed so much good music.
Such a class act Toby Keith was and how lucky we all were to share the world while he was singing his heart out. Godspeed cowboy and thanks for the years of memories you gifted us.
Wow! I have a new appreciation for Toby Keith. What a talent.
So sad to hear Toby has stomach cancer. You can get through this bro. You were my very first artist I EVER listened to and was hooked!
Thanks Blaine I would be back to studio and hold some concerts soon , am healthy just trying to be on the doctor reports
@@tobykeith3944 Glad to hear it
We miss you
Take care of yourself
This is the Toby I want to remember! Having fun and playing guitar!
Toby
Watching Sammy and Toby in this video made me laugh as much as these two cut up. You can tell they are true friends.
He Has done a Great Service to Our Country, I concur❗❗
So have You, Thank You for Your Service ❗👋🙏🇺🇸💪
Inspiring ...
Thank you for serving. and thank you Toby, for serving in your capacity
I am a veteran that was serving when 9/11 happened. That's the time he decided he was an American badass. Fuck Toby Keith. He exploited all of us for album sales and recognition. He should have been over there getting blown apart by IEDs instead of the honorable men and women I was over there with.
@@jimroberts2647 Too much jingoism that led to many dead people. He's a great musician though.
Mr Toby Keith is a legend in his own time, truly one of the greats, not much more truly could be said about one of the greatest rock Legends of all time, my hats off to you two " most excellent " gentleman. All glory to God and God bless you guys, thank you all for some of the best music ever recorded.
Got emotional when he started singing. He left a great legacy of music...
Miss you Toby.
Well, I've always been a Sammy fan, since he was the Red Rocker. I was a rock guy but I loved Toby's songs. The news of Toby's passing brought me here to see them together. I am glad they were friends.
Love this! Brings back the old days of when Toby came to military bases for concert’s, and went overseas to play for the Soldier’s. My all American Man! Lost my husband 5 year’s ago, he served 22 years in the Army.

When Toby starts singing the world just stops for me. That voice, the expression, it’s amazing. Toby is one of them guys that God created the world for. Rest now Cowboy your work is done and thank you.
The world lost one of the greatest songwriters. Rest in Peace Toby.
So many good songs. You were where you were at for a reason....we needed you. Thank you. Life is a blessing. We may only have a day......Love it, savor it, love those you love.
Sammy is always so happy and so much fun to listen too.
I love This Bar, that's the best song Toby wrote. The words describe every Honky Tonk I've ever been to.
Sammy is what keeps me watching. He’s so cool and real, can’t help but like the man.
Sammy. Being a star is one thing. Being an interviewer is another. Just wanted to pay my respect to the really nice interviews you have shared.
Thank you.
I can say I've been blessed to be Able to play on that stage, toby is what he is. A good ol country boy. I'm honored to be Able to say that. And even have him listen to us back stage.

Bout to let my 83 yr old mom watch this on my phone!!She loves Toby and I LOVE Sammy!Fave Toby song,"I'm Tired and Whiskey girl"Anything by Sammy or VanHagar

An incredible interview..such a loss..RIP Toby ❤ Thank you for all the great songs and shows I got to see. My condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him😢
I’ve got a picture with Toby Keith that was taken in Shindand, Afghanistan in 2010. He treated us well. He’s the only famous person I’ve ever met. What a voice, what a man. RIP Toby Keith.
Nice!
Going through some rough stuff in my life, praying for you, our stories are written, keep the faith, life is a country song.
Just got scared by a Toby Wana be , we connected on don't let the old man in I said don't let the old lady in. Scammed it should say. I called his foundation and let them know . Please pass this along😢
Man, we’re sure gonna miss this man. Thank God for him and his legacy of helping and inspiring others through his deeds and his music!❤
I have had the pleasure of seeing Sammy by himself at cowpalace and then with van Halen at monsters of rock. The guy is a true legend.
Red Hot Rocker ... Sammy we been enjoying your sounds since the early 80's. Rock on my friend.

Im a rocker for sure but appreciate all music. I remember hearing and seeing the music video for how do you like me now back in 99’. I knew he was special and for the last 25 years this guy’s music has been in my rotation. Im not a big country fan but this guy was not the average country artist. He busted across all genres and brought people in to his art. I will definitely keep his tunes rolling at high volume for all to hear and appreciate. R.I.P.
I text Toby Keith that I really loved his planters on his property. They are beautiful. He commented back to me about them too. He made me feel very special ! I hope he rests in Perfect Peace ! I will miss hearing from him.❤❤
So happy you said John Prine! My first ever concert was John at Wolf Trap Washington DC and that changed my life I was a little kid and ever since that show I have been playing guitar. That was bout 24 years ago

He has a radio on Saturday night from 10-12. Fun to listen to him. Even on the radio, can't believe he is as old as he his!
