This feels like one of those dreamy, warm and beautiful, childhood dreams. A fable at the grandparents house, to listen and marvel off with my cousins, while playing on Nintendo's most recent wonder machine... just saying to yourself, with starry eyes and mouth wide open: how beautiful. It's nice to find one of those flowers still blooming again from time to time.
In Super Mario 64, in some courses (Jolly Roger Bay, Hazy Maze Cave, etc.), the background music would change depending on where Mario goes in the course. Will any of the courses/areas/etc. in Return to Yoshi's Island have this feature?
Yeah, for instance: Dire, Dire Dock's song changes the drums / percussion to a more "dry" beat when you are on the ground, and it uses the Keyboard sounds more intensely when you are in the water (thus, a more "watery" sound)
This is the most beautiful project. It is literally fulfilling so many dreams I had as a kid where I’d discover a box in the garage of a bunch of 64 games I had never played like sequels to Mario 64. I love that you’re making that a reality for people like me. (Both developers and composers working on this project)
These games could benefit from a bit more story, maybe just some flavor text and worldbuilding, since official games don't do it, it's a huge opportunity for fan works
this game has a bit of both explicit and implicit story - sometimes levels are about completing a story, other times the levels have an implied lore behind them that you uncover as you go.
Ist das schon wieder ein Originaltrack? Ich glaub's einfach nicht wie gut es ist. Return to Yoshis Island ist auf keinen Fall ein Romhack, dafür ist es viel zu gut.

why do i need soundcloud if i have youtube
Good job
I love that this has a similar motif to nightwish's song Nemo. Fits for a fanciful dream level.

Posting your game's ost on TH-cam makes you officially better than Nintendo
he should mod zelda64 more too

If this track came out back in the day, it would have solidified its place among the best in the franchise by now.
Never would have thought my most anticaped game release for 2023 would be a SM64 rom hack.
Me neither
At this rate I doubt its gonna be out by the end of the year, and that's a good thing in my book

some areas might have features like that yeah. i think i have a few like that already but i can't think of one right now
@@KazeClips I don't know it
I imagine most bossfights have that at least

This track sounds somber, but it also sounds upbeat!
Badub is so good with game soundfont stuff.
Another fantastic track. Kudos to Badub!!!
This gives me Corridors of Time or Sky Tower vibes from Chrono Trigger and PMD: Red and Blue Rescue Team. Gives me end game like vibes, I love it.

Interesting dream. That box is kind of like a physical form of the SM64 hacking community as a whole in a way.
I don't know why I expected anything less than perfection.
oh man the atmosphere…
Great song! This really fits this environment. Btw for those who want to know the artist, check the description.
Ok, I love this, officially (it reminds me of a song from a Smurfs game oddly enough)
I swear I've heard a song before that's really close to to this one
badub really nailing it
This is lovely
This track is a genuine masterpiece
Beautiful stuff. Can't wait to try out this rom!
Beautiful song !
if this song is in the game when you release it.. wow
This level is incredible
great song
Rayman 3 looks great

This is so catchy
Dreamy Flights in Gloomy Lights my favourite level in Rayman 3
Dreamy indeed !

Return to Yoshi's Island Lore:
Это просто сон марио
What song is this tune from? I’ve heard it before but can’t place it
Dreamy dry bones in gloomy dry bones DST
🦴 And I have a lot of bone 💀
So pretty, did you made the soundtrack as well? Do you have to load a soundfont and export a midi for the N64 or how?
