Just a heads up for you and the people ordering the same Bulbs for the Instrument Cluster/Gauges you linked in the Description, The ones you linked actually are non polarity, so no worries on getting it put back together and some not working and needing to be turned 180 degrees. That is also why all of yours were perfect the first time :)
Thanks for your reply, another quick question, are those headlamp assemblies an upgrade from the stock ones as they look like the reflector is maybe better, did the Lightning come with better headlights, I also found out the hard way about the correct LED bulbs as the first set I purchased were brighter than stock but light dispersal out in front of the vehicle was actually worse, I found out while researching LED's for my wife's Jag, a very reputable dealer for headlights told me that aftermarket LED headlight bulbs being installed in vehicles that did not come from the factory with them is illegal because they aren't approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Board but I don't think there is a specific law that is being broken it's just that they aren't an approved safety item but I haven't heard of anyone ever getting a fixit ticket for it and it certainly didn't stop me from installing LED headlights.
The new headlights I used from LMR are in my opinion an upgrade since they have clear lens and lots of reflector material. They make the truck look more modern. I understand what you're saying about the LED's... if not installed properly, they are hazardous.
I've got an 03 almost exactly like yours except mine has the painted bumpers and I really enjoy all your videos, a quick note about LED headlights as they are not all the same and it pays to do your research, it's critical that the LED mimics the original incandescent bulb in order to get the correct light pattern dispersal off of the reflector and that's also why the LED must be mounted vertically, did those blinker side mirrors come on your truck or did you find them in a wrecking yard because I want a set of those, I didn't even know that was an option, thanks for all your great content.
Thanks for your comment... I found out the hard way about alignment of the LED in the headlight as I mentioned in the video... ;) the side view mirrors with integrated bulbs are a direct replacement for the standard mirrors. Similar to other projects I've done on this truck, the wiring was already in place and it was simply plug and play. I did find these mirrors in the wrecking yard.
I used green leds in my Ranger and it keeps the colors better- the needles are still red. It’s just brighter version on what it was. I used different bulbs, though.
To adjust your lights you need to pop them out a lil and the back guide pin turn and thats how you can adjust them unfortunately no screw or bolt to easily adjust our lights lol
For the bulbs for your HVAC Panel Lights and Door Lights, the bulbs you got were Ice Blue, Do you think if I ordered the White ones, that it wouldn't cancel the red so much on the HVAC control? Also do you by chance a video installing your Metra Dash Kit and Double Din Stereo?
@@DrivingIntelligence Lol. I wasn't trying to point them out or anything, I just ordered the same lights you got. Just resoldered my Instrument Cluster and the Compass/Temperature overhead unit. The Instrument Cluster has been intermittent for quite some time, but I'd just smack the plastic a few times until it came back on, the compass was the same, but eventually when I hit it, one of the "510" board chips popped off and was rattling around in the housing. I ordered the same lights you got for the cluster, and the white led lights for the HVAC. Got it all repaired and the lights swapped out. Glad to have them working again. Only thing I noticed, is that my Instrument Cluster has very bad hot/bright spots where the LED's are, in your video, they looked more dispersed and even. Did yours have that as well? I can't wait for your Spectra and Double Din install video. I want Wireless Android Auto so bad.
Hey I need some help on a 2004 f150 stx. I went with lx doors but can't figure out how to get power to my windows. I have all 4 doors. I have the extended cab.
@DrivingIntelligence sorry yes I have a stx truck with manual windows and doors locks. I bought a set of xl doors from a person. I'm trying to understand how to wire them into my fuse panel. I think the beige wire with the blue strip is for my windows. I've not had any luck.
@@whitetail313 I don't have wiring schematics for your truck. You can do some research on the internet for the power door window wiring harness for your specific year. You can then use jumpers to test the windows. You could also probably look at the wiring of your new door and see which wires come from the harness entering the door.
I just bought a 01 supercab with 197000. My only concern besides cosmetics is that it is leaking coolant to the right of my trans. I have yet to get under and see where its actually coming from. Would anyone have any guesses?
Someone said it could be a coolant line going to my trans thats loose which the trans was replaced with a used one by the previous owner so its possible
you should check your transmission fluid right away, does it look like water? Or does it look pink and clear? And you also need to find the source of that leak. You should not have radiator coolant coming from the transmission. If you do, you might have radiator coolant getting into the transmission cooling lines and into the transmission.

Thanks for the comment and correcting my miss! :)

Thanks Mark… I come to love LEDs
Thanks for this video, especially the side view mirrors
You’re welcome
Those light mods look awesome
Thank you!

Love the brightness- on the dash .
Thanks for the info on the mirror turn signal bulbs
glad my video helped

Thanks for this... the video I referring to where I install the headlight assemblies on my '02 HD F150 shows the process you mention.
Good stuff
Thx!

You might be better off with white versus blue. I think the blue is cancelling out some of my red on my HVAC panel.
and you're good at catching a few of my mistakes... ;)

@@DrivingIntelligence Installing the White LED's in the HVAC panel did help with keeping the red color. 👍
@Zalagar619 awesome. I might change mine to white
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
@@DrivingIntelligence Thanks to you , looking at putting it on a 2003 F-150 Lariat . Greetings from Panama
Awesome, drop me some photos at facebook.com/drivingintelligence
Do the LEDs work with the dimmer switch?
Yes!
Gauge lights looks much better.
Right! I can see them now at night!
