Me and the other 8th graders at the time had no clue that it would be our last ever day of middle school until May, when it would be announced that school's out for summer. I'm kinda disappointed that I didn't get to enjoy the awesome end of the year 8th grade activities, but I'm glad I finished that hellhole known as middle school early. Dude, I have lost motivation to do anything. Things are literally going downhill here in the U.S. (California specifically at the moment). They have terminology for this state of mind, it’s called caution fatigue. It’s when we’re over overstimulated by so much bad news that we don’t really take it seriously anymore. I’ve been guilty of this myself too, this video perfectly encapsulated my feelings during this time 😅😞 . The other concerning thing is that other people with caution fatigue are starting to go out to bars and restaurants more.. That’s contracting the virus quicker, and it’s already starting to happen in the U.S.. I can’t really go back to the classes that I’m taking, so I’m gonna have to do them fully online next year 😞 . They didn’t really manage the online classes too well last time in March... Hopefully they can fix that and make it better, but still. Edit: ~ I suppose the most probable and effective thing for me to do now is just wait it out and listen to all the great advice in the comments 🙏 Thank you guys!
For me its the opposite. Due to having so much free time and school being out I finally committed to getting a first job and also learning the piano, and that's after the shitty phase

Current stage: I have anxiety and I’ve started having anxiety attacks. I really need someone to talk to! And I’ve deleted some of my social media apps because they were making my mental health worse
I remember telling my biology teacher back in late February when it was just starting to become a pandemic (my parents are from China and had been following the news much more carefully, especially since they were there with their relatives during SARS which was a much worse cover up because they didn’t even attempt relaying info to international bodies initially) that if the situation progressed we could even end up having to shut down schools (I live in the Uk, this is bio second year a level ie. final year of high school.) He laughed and said it wouldn’t ever come to that. My final exams ended up getting cancelled. My final school year got chomped in half and I ended up having to postpone my grade 8 singing exam which would have been the day after lockdown. :3 NB: I had also done my own research for the geography society that I ran, it was called ‘should we be concerned about coronavirus’. I just feel like I was trying to warn so many people about it who just didn’t care initially and now so many of them have either had it themselves or know people who’ve died from it. It frustrates me a lot (though I do take a tiny amount of comfort in saying ‘I told you so’ to the people who were going ‘LOL I don’t care I’m not going to die anyways it’s not a big deal’ given we’re from the healthiest part of the population as if completely forgetting their own parents’ and grandparents’ existences. It’s not a big plus in the grand scheme of things tho :( okay sorry for this weird rant but not quite sure who I talk to about this so you random person on the internet can have it instead have a good day and stay safe :) )

Honestly kind of happy we got months off of school, I finally got to a good mental place. But now I’ve spent like 4 months in quarantine and I’m sick of it, I wish America could get their act together. I’ve lost so much faith in humanity these past few months

And if it’s so hard to wear a mask, just stay home! I hate people right now.
@@wildmoonchild9404 Yup yup. Things are getting worse in Montana because most people aren't wearing masks and traveling and getting together like everything is normal. I work at a hotel and most of the people who are traveling don't have to and aren't wearing masks, and it is so hard to maintain professionalism and be friendly. They're the reason it's getting worse. I don't understand how people can look at the map of cases and then go about life normally when they know there is a PANDEMIC going on.
I live in the suburbs in upstate New York and I'm so sick of this, we have almost no cases yet we're as strict here as in NYC and we're never getting out of this...
Might want to read some old history and civics textbooks to get an idea about freedom. Everyone in America HAS it. The countries that have more successfully dealt with the virus are able to Make their people do whatever they say as well as support them financially or at least feed them. Not sure you'd like the tradeoffs though. I don't know, mills seem to think they would. To each their own, but please read up so "your own" is informed.
Honestly this is historic. People will want to know what it was like being home in 2020 and this is a good summary of how everything began and progressed. There are so many vlogs you could find but this is right to the point. Also Disney+ is totally worth it! 😂
I fear for the class of 2021, that their graduation is still about to be overshadowed by a virus that is the molehill the media makes out to be a mountain.

Honestly I feel like this collective global experience has kinda brought all of closer together. No matter where you are, you've experienced these phases. Anybody anywhere ten years later could ask you, "remember 2020?" And you WILL. And everyone that was alive in 2020 would understand.
I have a feeling in the future, most of 2020 is going to be a blur in a lot of our minds... it already seems like this weird nebulous place and we’re still in the middle of it.
As a teacher, I was thoroughly enjoying the shutdown 👍 Every time we heard that school was closed for another week, I cheered. When it got closed down for the year, I literally jumped for joy.
“Guess for how long? 15 days!” I remember I was at the car wash with my brother and dad and my brother said: “Oh! Schools are gonna close for 2 months!” I was kinda sad because we had some exciting events happening and they were just going to get cancelled. But now, it’s been more than a year…
Things I did recently 1. Went to Utah from British Columbia 2. Went back 3. Got stuck at the border because our dads test results didn’t come through 4. Had to stay a in hotel near a border town in Washington 5. Got back and now stuck in 2 week quarantine as ordered by the province
Sadly no one thinks of the kids and what it will do to them. I hear, it’s so selfish to not social distance around older people yet what about the selfishness of taking away kids rights TO LIVE THEIR LIVES??
Annaliese Nistor Many people aren’t allowed to “live their lives” right now, kids included. People have missed weddings, graduations, funerals. Many people are out of work and living paycheck to paycheck. It’s sad and I feel for kids but I’d rather them be safe than either get sick or bring home COVID to their family members or get their teachers sick.
@@katieh890 I'm living my life to the best of my ability, and hell, I even went on vacation for my birthday this year. If somewhere is open, I'm willing to go there. Social events may be out of the window right now, but there are several ways to have fun during a pandemic.
Lovely Doll Time That’s great for you. Some of us are high risk and can’t just “go to places that are open”, and also don’t want to risk exposing others if we’re asymptomatic. Back in February my school started cancelling all activities for the whole month and gave us 2 weeks of self quarantine in our own homes and we were THRIVING with online classes while other schools were still doing face to face. When we got back to school, we joked saying those 2 weeks "weren't enough"... fast forward to March where they announced lockdown, cancelled our prom and graduation and since then I haven't seen my friends yet. Plus freshman year of college would be spent through online classes. What a joy
Oh man I remember. In February especially late February things were getting pretty bad but in March on the 2nd wendsday was when my High school started doing restrictions like no spectators at the last basketball game and then the next day they started having hand sanitizing stations at the restrooms and other kinds of rules and my track coach said it could be our last practice due to everything that was going on and I felt so mad about it. I remember the next day when I woke up later then when I usually wake up and I saw the email the schools in my state were ordered to be closed the next Monday and some schools in the area were open for that day while mine was only open just for us to get things out of our lockers and talk to our teachers about anything we needed. From then on lockdown started and lots of things were getting cancelled and my freshman yea rod college was also mostly virtual even in January when they started letting people move into the dorms.

Me in March: wow this feels like the last day of school even though we’ll be back in a month
Me now: 👁👄👁
The last day before Spring Break all of my teachers were like “School might be online or something after break.” So at lunch I told all of my friends “Guys this might be our last lunch together in 8th grade isn’t that CRAZY?” And one of my friends was like “ bro you are wrong things will be fine after Spring break stop being paranoid and stupid.”

Me in July: *disappointed about my freshman year of high school (2020 - 2021) starting the 1st semester online.
@@kingbronco1015 At my school, it was announced during 5th period, so after lunch. On Friday the 13th, we all thought nothing of it and thought it was gonna be out for those 2 weeks, and I remember listening to School's Out by Alice Cooper even after school and at the mall the same day (yes, I went to the mall after school that day).

Edit:
~ I suppose the most probable and effective thing for me to do now is just wait it out and listen to all the great advice in the comments 🙏 Thank you guys!
