Think the Marble Morningstar have more base damage and also inflict confusion
@@aherndz3170 Do you know where to get it? Someone on Reddit said it's rng loot in a cabal of winds temple, and if that's its only availability, it would be a real pain to get one's hands on...
With rogue maxed doesn't matter what backpack you use, feather dodge negates backpack dodge penalty.

I suggest you use a mealstrom blade on this build. It inflicts confusion, and because it is a sword you can inflict pain with the sword skill puncture strike. It is a late game item, I know, but defenitely worth checking out.

sword and dagger are the best, sword skill puncture will inflict pain and massive impact perfect combo for opportunity strike.
No Confusion tho. And if you want a Sword that does "Pain" use "Brand". No Skill slot needed.
or 1H axe with the skill learned from the Kazites in Chernoese. Applies Cripple and Pain. If you have the Tuanosaur Axe, it also applies Extreme Bleeding. It's been very effective for me. But something that applies Confusion, too, would be awesome
It might be a bit late to comment on this game, however...I've only just started it and after a short while it gave me a huge confusion, once I realised how much is actually going on in this game (class combo and stuff reminded a bit of "Path of Exile"). It took me a good couple of days to scroll through guides and tutorials and none of them seemed to properly suit me at all, but this one... o.O
I've always loves assassin builds, but somehow nowaday games seem to nerf it way at the start...but here i see an opportunity I've been waiting for...I guess i'll give it a go... Cheers pal, superb guide btw :)

Woah, I just started a similar build! Rogue/Warrior Monk/Wild Hunter, with all the same skills from the trees we have in common, and the same armor set-up and dagger - though I use a 1h sword (endgame will be tsar).
With war bow, you can use Piercing Shot to confuse an enemy and inflict extreme bleeding from afar at the same time, before they notice you. As they approach you, you can then inflict pain with either Perfect Strike or Puncture, and then opportunity stab for the 4x - and now they're both extreme bleeding /and/ extreme poisoned (if they even lived through all that). Plus, I think sword and dagger has a certain visual appeal.
Anyway, neat video! Thanks for showing me a glimpse of what my end game will look like. You put out new content with obscene frequency, my friend. I think I'll go ahead and sub. :)
I have the same build the only difference is I use brand witch on hit will leave the target with pain and shiver so u don't even need the skill to infect pain u can use the crimson set to get boosted frost damage to brand and shiver works like pain but for frost damage super strong
@@ryanstrowbridge6211 Ryan Strowbridge Nice! I just like the Tsar with physical damage buffs since the skills are so strong. For me the puncture is as much about the damage multiplier as it is about applying pain. I'm thinking about making a brand build. I would probably go Heroic Kingdom for the 15% bonus to both physical and frost, then the white priest mitre for 20% frost and zagis armor + scaled leather boots for 22% physical, a total of 35 and 37% damage increase on its frost and physical respectively - which, though less protective, adds a notably larger damage bonus than blue chamber armor would provide. Then add shaman-boosted boons and you're looking at over 65% increases for both damage increases, plus the increase from the status effects. Add fire infuse and you get a further damage bonus plus burning... Could be pretty wild!

id like to see you take on the lich bosses with a melee build like this.
I know this video is old, but can't this build literally be broken, if instead of the brutal club you go with the new Maelstrom Blade (a confusion inflicting sword)? That would allow to replace Perfect Strike with Puncture, the latter sharing the same cooldown with Opportunist Strike, which would ALWAYS get the 4x damage every friggin' 10 SECONDS? This would also mean we can take Master of Motion and gain a bit of tankiness in the process, so better DPS AND Tankiness overall... Whaddya think lads?
i was actually gonna say even though this is way too old, he has feather dodge so he could choose any backpack but still unimpeded... but probably works?

@@abcabc-qb6re He should use that DLC backpack for an additional 15% damage.
Perfect Strike hits so much harder though. 2x damage, PLUS 25 *raw* damage, and is good at closing distance between you and the target. It also can hit more than one enemy if they're close together. I would say those far outweigh an extra 10% resistance, considering this build is more about killing before getting killed. And you can still use the Maelstrom blade with it.
the marble morningstar also inflicts confusion and deals 14 damage and 7 impact more
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FRUSTRATING FOR US (2 PLAYERS) TO KILL A FREAKING SHELL HORNOR??
You used it around the 5 minutes 30 seconds mark in this video.. where did you get that ability from? Which Merchant did you buy it from?
I use manticore dagger with tuanosaur axe, use the backstab, make the attack with the axe that inflicts pain, then the oportunistic stab and the normal heavy attack of the axe that makes 3 strikes, this works great even against golems and enemies that resist bleeding and poison, i am currently exploring and have ignored the main quest for a while. I do not know what armor should be good for that one, any tips?
@tasty penguin you should check out the Marble Morning Star, causes confusion AND has like double the damage of the brutal mace
In my opinion, Back-stab is a OP ability and a good one at that. I recommend it in everyones build in case of situations where you have a chance to deal damage behind someone then kill them the rest of the way. It's just way more efficient that way with the ability and kind of hinders your target.
Also get some movement speed gear and you can literally run circled around enemies and back stab them in combat
Question: Is that Serpent's parry on your skill bar? If it is that means you took feather dodge which negates the slowness from backpacks when dodging so you don't need the scaled backpack. edit: Get rid of that backpack for a useful backpack. Whether it's the trader's backpack at 110%, the glowstone so you can ditch the lantern, or the hunter's backpack for the -10% stamina cost.

How do you apply confusion in combat?
Hey tasty Penguin 🐧where did you get the Flash Onslaught and Backstab abilities from? Was it from the same area that you acquired the Enrage ability for your character? What about Perfect Strike? And Serpent's party was it? Where did you get those two green reptilian symbol ones? There's Serpent's Dagger or Parry? Uh, I don't remember it's exact name and another ability that looks kind of like its represented by a green water Dragon 🐉 or some glowing green river!
In the fight at 9:12 how did you did the E ability and later on did the quickslot nr 1 ability if both require the Discipline boom to be active, yet once you do one of the abilities it consumes the boon? At least it happens to me.
the E ability just requires it, it doesn't consume it. the 1 does :P
How does this build stack up to boss creatures like the liches? I'm curious to see how fast it can take one of them down. My elemental weapon build didn't hold up too well against the plague doctor, yet it completely wrecks everything else. It was the long range fighting style the lich uses that messed me up, but I plan on adjusting some equipment around and attempting him again soon.
i have to get lucky for a backstab but other than that its pretty solid
Heya Mr.Penguin - As a Spellsword focused character, (1 handed sword no shield) what other magic compliments this style?
i think a good one for spell sword if you do not want to be full mele is the chakram skills. u can have sword in one hand chakram in the other to gain some pretty powerful slashing attack along with a passive that boosts fire or frost damage of your choice :P also if you did shaman on top of that the passive it gets amplifies boons power adding more damage and resistances to any boon u use and u can have a summon to help out :P
Id like to see a mage build.. maybe spell combos and if they mix across disciplines?
Im a new player.. just unlocked magic and bought the runes from berg.. but seeing a mage playstyle or spell stratefies would be helpful

Sorry I’m late but I think the marble mourningstar is better for damage and confusion
How much mp should I invest?
I think brand sword is a better option for melee weapon. It has 18 physical + 18 frost damage (36 base damage), which is already higher than this club, and can attack faster. The sword also inflicts chill and pain, which increases your frost damage and melee damage by 25%, respectively which gives a you total of a 45 fast hitting damage. You can also use the discipline boon, ice varnish and cool potions to increase your melee and frost damage, going up to ~70 damage(don't remember exactly). Also, the pain effect that the sword applies on your enemies also doubles the damage from your opportunity strike. The only downside is not having both confusion and pain at the same time, but you need two skills with a VERY high cooldown to get the pain status, so is not that big of a downside.
Long story short: Brand is the equivalent of this club, but is stronger in every possible aspect
Also, after playing with that build (it was the same as yours, but i had the stealth tree which gave me free rolling with backpacks and i used Brand), i didn't like it a lot. Stealth is really stupid in this game, because as soon as you go to a cavern, you can't see any fucking shit in front of you without a lantern, but that'll kill your stealth... Without a Cat's eye-like skill from skyrim, stealth is not that good in this game, because most of the time you won't have use for it. 80% of my backstabs i got after my enemy made a bad move.
You can begin an encounter with the war bow to inflict confusion. Just switch to brand and dagger after.
@@clumzytvrob9306 But then you'd need to waste 3 slots with bow, melee weap and dagger to be able to effectively change your weapons once the battle starts. Which means you'd have to sacrifice some skills(probably the warrior monk ones).

Pearl Bird Mask + Merchant set is a better synergies in my opinion.
yeah really great for stamina and such but with my current set i barely use stamina bc everything is dead XD
That gear is light enough to carry both sets. Together I think it's under 30 pounds? And since you'll be wearing one of them, it's really only roughly 15 pounds.
You already have feather dodge you can use any backpack without disadvantage so no need scaled satchel.

You burn the skills like they were 5sec cooldown, but I like the build x' D
The Backstab and Opportunist Strike are only 10 seconds...

i found sword is best pair for dagger. the combo ended with side attack then u can execute backstab.imho
TOOL TIP on Perfect strike says it applies Pain, but with that attack, does it ALSO apply confusion since it's in you main weapon? Or do you have to auto attack first, then use Perfect strike to apply both debuffs?
it applies it with any hit including skills thats why i use perfect strike with that weapon

i always do a flat 100 for testing but with this build u barely need mana so 40 would be ok. every 20 mana u add you lose 5 hp and stam
Have you done the lavant quest line it gives you a solid potion it’s 15% all damage and 20 to manna hp stam

doesn't the feather Dodge perk from the rouge tree automatically give you dodge unimpeded even when wearing a backpack so having the scaled back pack shouldn't matter :P

So, that ABILITY with the red claw marks coming out of the head and chest of the character is called "Enrage"? OKAY, now that I know what it's called, where did you purchase that ABILITY from Tasty Penguin🐧? Where did you get it from in Outward? What Merchant?
How'd you do invisibility?
There's the Flash Onslaught from the Monk Tree. If you mean what happened at 9:00 that's a bug from said Skill.
Oh. I don't know if you and other people know but your skills take a lot more durability off your weapon than simply hitting mobs. Flash takes 10 durability per mob and I think it hits 2 mobs max. Predator leap takes off 24 or 30, not sure so I'll test it more. Perfect strike takes off 16. Haven't tested the daggers get.

nice ... i really like your build videos ... but you should do some builds without flash onslaught and perfect strike .. i dont wanna insult, but you have them in seemingly every build ...
ive made one with spellblade, monk, philosopher and shaman ... and im using the soul lantern as offhand with flame thrower, seal of fire, warmth, infuse with fire, that focus block, that block with a club wich steals the element its blocking, and the spell wich shoots out the infusion of your weapon ...
so you got infinite flame thrower ammo from the soul lamp ... and you can inflict massive amounts of fire dmg with the buffs and the fire weapon ... and you can steal the element of your enemys and shoot it back ..
also beeing nice is that you have options for range, mid range, and close combat with this build ... and since i use it i never got problems with stamina or mana cause you have the mana reg passive, so if the fights drag out for longer or there are many enemy following you you can get some ranged attacks with your mana then block and fight with your stamina then back out and use mana again :D
think you should give a try to something like this ...
sounds like a nice build haha and yeah i do have those skills in there but there is not much to choose from in this game as far as a variety of mele combat skills. yes basic mele works but when it comes to content creation no one will really watch someone just swinging a weapon. i can do that yeah. most my builds can devistate with no skills but in the end the theme if the character on top of a fast combo of skills is what pulls off a good RP and build vid
What is a soul lantern and where did you got that?
you get it from the blue chamber questline .. but you can choose other things .. if i remember correctly ... for the lantern - it requires no fuel and it boosts your defense against aethereal dmg..@@horstmeier512

How much mana?
for the pain/confusion effect I use the handcannon(not sure of the name) with the first bullet type you get from the mercenary trainer so you get both affliction for one shot and it only cost 1iron scrap.
You need to give up like 3-4 Quickslots tho. You're better off with switching between Burtal Club/Marble Morningstar and Brand instead.
What do you do when Focus is on CD ?
potions, elixirs, and rage foods.
I miss about 90% of the time when I try to use "Perfect Strike". I can't figure out why. I'm close and I have the target selected. Very frustrating.

in all my RP builds i never chose a faction i dont believe. It has been a while. But i just made new characters and went strait to the build and thats it just for the vid

how doessplit scree coop work on a story mode?
whoever is hosting has their world affected by whatever both players do. go back to your own world and its unchanged. but you just set up a room with a name and your friend searches for that name and your done :P

for the builds i did i always took the same flat 100 for testing but you can get by with less. i was just being safe

@@NERDPotion I think at that point I might as well just use the Debug tool to spawn in whatever items I want whenever I want them :P... I find it sort of defeats the purpose of playing when you totally remove the intended mechanics
You should try crimson set with ice artifact mace and the Obsidian flintlock. Fire and ice make a great combo. Base this set up get you 12 physical and 55 ice damage with the mace and you can ignite enemies at range with the flintlock so you have an advantage against tougher enemies and it helps with wendingo and ice witch, who are ice resistant or immune. Then on reverse the obsidian constructs and burning men are weak to ice but immune to fire.
Besides the obvious ( equipping a better backpack because you have the Rogue skill tree passive ) I'd say to use a sword as your main weapon. Maybe the assassin's sword for slowdown and bleed, that seems much more assassin-y.

How do you get confusion if you equip sword main hand
@@dankazama09 I don't know about confusion, but I use the dagger for poisoning, assassin's sword for bleed/slow, then switch it up to Brand for the Pain debuff. The slow from the assassin's sword helps a ton with multiple backstabs too. I can't say it's necessarily better than using a club for confusion, just something for people to consider.
@@keskes1338 You could use the Cannon Pistol/War Bow for Confusion too.
Just use the war bow and the brand my build is based around thsoe and the manticore dagger use cool boon and frost rag + opportunist stab quad damage is op.
Bows are bugged atm.

Love the build but that's rather a "Monk" than a "shadow" assassin :)
Using the Rogue skill Sweeping Kick inflicts confusion and using the coral bow for pain/warbow can also do confusion. So swapping between bow and dagger only is my favorite playstyle
Sweep Kick doesn't inflict confusion. It knocks down those who are afflicted by it.

@@NERDPotion Can you do a build called "The Sadist" build where you literally put all debuff types (wether it's applied to weap or the bleed arrow) and watch them die > w>
@@NERDPotion use the morning star mace its the marble version of the 1h mace and it also inflicts confusion and has alot more damage
So many weapon types and only a few bows, and so far nobody found another bow somewhere I totally lost my hope for archery in this game
