    This Car actually looks even better in person.
    It’s far larger in person as well.

    Good review! Funny how on low end @ $39k-49k base engine with 280hp and 332lbft (on regular gas) wipes the floor with Kia and competition and gets 24mpg in city and 28 on highway (Teluride gets 18 city, 24 highway with that anemic V6 w/262lbft) @ same price. Good job Mazda!

    I was preparing to pay off a car in the next year to give my son and get an Acura MDX. But this vehicle has QUICKLY changed my mind. Why spend 50 - 59 grand for a base model Acura when I can spend the same amount on the top trim Mazda and have basically every thing the Acura MDX Type S has? 🤷🏽‍♂️
    And this will be my first time owning a Mazda. Looking forward to joining the family soon!

      We've Mazda owners going back to 2006, all been very reliable and fun to drive. I drove a BMW X5 recently and for me it's steering was very artificial feeling and electrically assisted. Also, it's brakes were super grabby. Just in terms of steering and braking feel it's hard to beat Mazda. Side note: of course, the Bimmer felt way more powerful, super quiet in the cabin and luxurious but I'd prefer the driving dynamics of Mazda.

    This this looks better in person. Go stand next to this, then go stand next to an MDX. There's just no comparison. This Mazda is gorgeous.

    Very nice vehicle, impressed me on all levels. But the power delivery alters quite a bit. There are days when it feels sluggish, and days where it pulls like hell.

      Beautiful? What? Lol this is much uglier than the mazda cx-9 or even cx-5. I respect what mazda has to offer but this is one fugly car (especially the back that looks like a van from the mid 2000s).

    I wish it was larger. 75 cubic feet of cargo space is still pretty low when most of the competition is 85 or 95 cubic feet.
    The 122” wheelbase though is significantly longer than the rest of them. Should make it pretty stable when towing.

    • @MIZUNOMP60
      @MIZUNOMP60 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, the "premium design" is less boxy than a Telluride/Pilot and more like an Infiniti QX-60 or Acura MDX. Given its exterior dimensions you would think it was bigger inside than it is but it's only has slightly more max cargo than the CX-9. Be fun to drive though!

  • @MDPS26
    @MDPS26 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe I test drove a bad one but I wasn't impressed at all by the Turbo S. In Sport Mode the transmission was very dramatic and it didn't feel anywhere near as fast as the MDX Type S. I realize from your test it's about a half second slower, but it felt much slower to me. The one I drove had just been through a number of test drives so maybe the battery was depleted?

    Is Mazda secretly building the new Mazda 6 and not saying anything until after the CX 70 is revealed ?

    • @TexasTruckChannel
      @TexasTruckChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh we wish. This was intended to be the next Mazda 6, then the world quit buying sedans, so it became this. Hats off to Mazda for sticking to their rwd chassis and inline 6 commitments.

  • @OtisSpringerpilot

    Beware,,,,the Tan interior and that GREAT 2-tone steering wheel is ONLY in the top-spec Turbo S Prem Plus....and that trim level cost over $61,0000 (before tax). Mazda does have nice interiors in the other trim levels....but not this press vehicle Tan, that one is their top-spec model and very expensive. Other leather choices are White (also expensive but avail on about 3 trim leverl). Black (looks good), and Greige (a mix between Beige and Grey)...which looks better than black. IF you want a CX-90 for less than the mid-$50,0000 range...then you need to like the Black or Greige interior color....and your steering wheel WILL be black.

    2nd row so tight why Mazda

    • @TexasTruckChannel
      @TexasTruckChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did seem too tight to us. More head room than most of it competition.

    • @OtisSpringerpilot
      @OtisSpringerpilot ปีที่แล้ว +3

      2nd row is not that tight. The reviewer was 6 foot 4 ! Thats tall. Also, that seat was probably not all the way back on the rails...since he just had slid it forward to get in the back. Only time the 6seat CX-90 might lack legroom is with SIX ADULTS in it all at once ...that wont happen a lot. I am the tallest in my family at 5'9" and wife is 5'5" plus 2 kids. This CX-90 is large and comfortable (the Turbo S Prem Plus is in fact already in my garage)

    It looks a little dumpy -- the aggro treatment which benefitted the CX-50 didn't translate quite as well here. The CX-9 is better looking. Hope the inline 6 redeems it through character and sound.

    • @ScottXC91
      @ScottXC91 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      It’s different. Like most new designs are. The point is, once you look at this for a bit, it instantly makes the CX-9 look old.

    • @thehqban

    Just discovered this channel. Watched your Tundra review and now this both really well done. The two of you "click" well together doing your reviews. I would ask you since I am also 6'4 like you are can you comfortably sit behind yourself in the second row if you were driving? I have a son who is 6"3 and only 13 so he will be in our car for many years to come. i realize some tall people have longer legs vs torso etc. I have a 36 in inseam. My local dealer has no CX 90s to go check out as of now. Thanks

    • @TexasTruckChannel
      @TexasTruckChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, welcome to the channel. I did sit behind myself with no complaints. It is not the largest in its class, it feels like an explorer with more head room for me. I am taller in the torso than the legs for reference. While the telluride/atlas/pilot have more interior space, the driving dynamics are substantially better than the rest.
      I hope you are able to drive one soon.
      Thanks for watching,
      -Bryan
