Been practicing medicine for 16 years and I can’t believe that we even need to have this discussion. It’s like we’ve collectively have forgotten basic immunology.

I've read the biology book from first year in high school and I still know more from all of these so called "experts" who've lost their minds. Its as if they've never read BASIC biology books! Of course our immunity is stronger and better than weak and garbage vaccines who are still reliant on our immune system to create immunity.
Nothing was forgotten it was covered up and then the people smart enough were told to shut up and play along.
Well…to be accurate….there are A LOT of healthcare professionals, from MDs to nurses and other, that have swallowed the media narrative entirely. Science is being taken over by politicians and the soft sciences it seems. I am also a healthcare professional (graduate level degree) and this has been my personal experience. I have washed my hands of some folks I used to think were intelligent, before they contracted the incurable fear disease.
hold up. so it's acceptable to let a subset of the population die to covid so you can prove a majority of the people will not die? aren't the point of vaccines herd immunity in order to stop it before people get it and possibly die?

I'm vaccinated but Covid last month. I was contacted by a doctor working for the state to make sure I was doing okay. She point blank told me that vaccinated immunity was better than natural immunity. I didn't argue with her but it left me scratching my head as nothing I had heard aligned with that. Glad to hear a real study come out to dispel all the BS.

Doctors need to be called out to their faces. They need to know they failed you, or worse, you know they lied. Maybe you have an opportunity next time.
Vaccinated immunity is better. Why? The whole point of being vaccinated is to reduce the chances of severe illness and death if you get infected at later date. If you try to achieve natural immunity you may get severely ill and die trying to achieve it!

You are correct. Our T cells retain the memory, so if the body gets re-infected by the virus in the futere, the T cells recognize it and cause the body to produce new antibodies against it.

Except that doesn't come without risks. Sure, natural immunity can be strong for covid, but you're only looking at the survival rate. Not all of the people living with neurological and respiratory effects, etc. Many, many studies to show this. Also, with chickenpox, sure natural immunity may be a bit better than with the vaccine, but that could lead to shingles later in life. Also, what about tetanus? There's not too many people who get natural immunity from that. What does work incredibly well is the vaccine. What about meningitis? Not necessarily that too and it's very deadly, especially bacterial meningitis.

Honestly, getting Covid in early 2020 was the best thing that happened to me that year. Was such a relief getting it out of the way instead of living in fear the whole year like most people did. I’ve done lots of international traveling since recovering and haven’t ever gotten Covid since.
You need to work on that living in fear.

These "mandates" are not LAWFUL, don't be easily bullied. They can never and will never enforce vaccines and if businesses refuse you service then that is discrimination. This is all just a ploy to get you to WILLINGLY vaccinate for whatever the reason. If you want to WILLINGLY inject your body with unknown substances then that's YOUR choice but others have the right to not vaccinate as well. Our rights are like muscles, use them or lose them. If you're scared of the air/going outside, being around the unvaccinated, etc, then YOU stay home, YOU shop online, YOU order pickup or delivery, etc, NOT the other way around.

If this was really about saving lives we would be using safe effective therapeutics early so more people would recover quickly (saving lives), there would be no mandate but rather a suggestion for those at high risk of death from the virus to get vaccinated and those in healthcare with natural immunity would be sought for positions in hospitals and care homes as a natural buffer/shield for our most vulnerable.

They should have really discussed how variable the immune response can be after recovering from infection. There was no mention about about 1/3 of people who recover don't have immunity, which is a huge detail. Vaccine immunity is much more predictable and longer lasting, this video is very disingenuous unfortunately.

I'm still trying to get over his absolute false attempt to debunk the push to evaluate and talk about the cheap drug Ivermectin (not profitable for big Phama). The NIH last November spoke encouragingly of Invermectin and seemed like they would test its effacy. It seems they have been encouraged not to do so.

@@NanaKaren555 the conservative information system decided to politicize the pandemic rather than deal with it. As a result they effectively negated the very talking points they supported. So, scientists couldn't just say that natural immunity was most likely, they had to do the studies and bring the receipts to get heard over the political misinformation campaigns.
Natural immunity is highly likely is not the same as natural immunity gives proven protection. Early in the pandemic there were several documented reinfections. This cast doubt on the assumption of natural immunity, so it needed to be confirmed that those reinfections were outliers and how much immunity was conferred by infection recovery.

The whole reason for wearing masks and promoting the vaccine was to prevent deaths by COVID-19. It just means if you survived the first exposure, you will fare better the second time, maybe against variants too. A valid response to this would be, let's allow people to take an antibody test and allow them the same opportunities as people who have vaccination cards.
I’ve been to two doctor’s who refuse to give me an antibody test because there’s no way to write a prescription based on the result. Update I finally went to a naturopath who helped me get an antibody test and sure enough I have recovered from Covid and have robust immunity.

@@ineedhoez at some point or another whether they got the jab or not, they would have gotten it... I truly believe at one point in our lives (jab or not) we will get covid-19 or a variant of it. Just like the flu, regardless of receiving the flu shot or not, we will probably get the flu at some point in our lives... nothing is 100% guaranteed and some of the side effects of the jab are pretty severe in some cases even death itself is possible.
I love being told for years I'm anti-science when all I did was look at historical science to make informed decisions until the research caught up with what reasonable people knew all along.

This is great reporting. This information is exactly what we have been taught anyway. As kids we get the vaccines and if we happen to catch something before we are vaccinated then our doctor said we had the appropriate antibodies and didn’t need to get the vaccine. Why would Covid be any different? Those pushing that natural antibodies are any less effective than vaccination antibodies are simply wrapped up in the drama and part of the problem. People have to get flu shots annually, the tetanus shot has to be taken every seven years, and the meningitis shot annually as well. Vaccines aren’t something you just take once.

It's a crapshoot. I don't think recovered people should be shamed into vaccination, but to non-immune folks - particularly as they age - do they want to take chances? Its up to them. I am a platelets donor and had nothing but negative antibodies tests from the Red Cross and a lab and when my employer required it, I got vaccinated. I still marvel at people who could be surprised by this story. If course natural immunity is better. And to her point, why would we want recovered people who aren't vaccinated and are willing to be unvaccinated out of our control base? It makes no sense and it just makes people less trustworthy and pauses us.

Why does natural immunity work better. Because your body is amazing and custom builds your immunity. It's not a one size fits all. When I was a kid and some kid got one for those childhood diseases all the moms got the kids together so they all got it and got immunity to it. Guess mom's are smarter than docs.

I already knew this, and that's why i haven't taken the jab. I got infected in Dec 2019. No reinfection so far and i'm on 2 years of my natural immunity still working.

That's because this is only a bombshell to people who believe in conspiratorial thinking. The test of us who follow science and the experts such as Faucci don't think this is a bombshell at all. Nobody ever said natural immunity was any better or worse than vaccines. But the people who want to make conspiracy out of everything, including Kim, hear what they want to hear.
It’s been known that the more severe the infection the stronger the immune response will be for newer infections, thata why people that almost died from SARS in the early 2000’s had strong antibody levels for 5 years instead of a year. But it’s really dumb thinking that it’s worth being brought to the brink of death to have a strong immune response to something that almost killed you when statistically the vaccine will keep you from getting that ill with less of a risk of death. It’s extremely narrow minded thinking to think I’ll take the higher chance that I will die so that I can fight the infection again and win

My wife is vaccinated, I’m not. We both had covid when it first came out. My son and I got omnicron, she didn’t. It was extremely mild for us. I had natural immunity that lessened symptoms, she had both natural and vaccine.

This is only good news for people who have already had the virus. It's still best to get the vaccine if you haven't been exposed to the virus, if you're in a high risk age or health risk or work in close contact with people who might be of high health risk (health care workers in particular).

Some treatments and lifestyle changes have worked for some, but not most. Amazing, I acquired covid for about six weeks and recovered at home. Worked through the start of the pandemic until getting sick. One year later and into the covid vaccine mandates I am being fired for not taking the covid-vaccine after almost 25 years working for NYS. We are not given an option to test and all religious exemptions are being denied. As of 12-10-21 many of us are receiving termination notices. As of 11-15-21 I am suspended without pay scrambling to find work. My job is aware I had covid and is not interested in my natural immunity at all. Not to mention I am not able to eat indoors or participate in any form of entertainment in NYS because I am not vaccinated.
