Problems with 622GW, bad suction mount as tend to fall off (get a more permanent mount), have to purchase the rear cam, need a hard wire kit for parking mode, video quality is par or average. It cost too much. 6 seconds in delay to start recording when car gets hit, lmao ...how sad. How long does the Internal Battery last? does not have a Super Capacitor like most dash cam have now. Well, at least it does not get hot. I feel rather cold, I'll go look for a better dash cam. @larkamigo ... I'm with you as I need a drink too.

In NYC, many people come back to their parked cars scratched or hit. This situation occurs frequently. With that said, does this camera have a sensor to detect motion to help capture seconds before the incident?

Ughh my camera didn’t come with a hard clip in the front . Just a card board that says remover before use . Smh is this new or something I see everyone has a plastics clip to protect the front magnetic
The "what3words" looks like a cool feature. It's too bad the Nextbase 622GW can't be setup as a 3-channel system.

Between the A129 Pro Duo, 750X plus, 900X and this with the rear camera which one would be better? I was leaning more toward the A129 Pro duo since I found that I preferred the rear camera compared to the 900X
Hi! BlackVue DR900X-Plus is nice. The Thinkware U1000 is lagging now as other dash cam manufactures have updated. Don't get the newer Thinkware Q1000 as it is worst than the U1000. The Viofo A129 Plus is better than the A129 Pro. Viofo A139 Pro (4K with HDR) is very nice. Want a screen get the Viofo A229 Duo. Some people think the DPPAI X5 Pro is great. If you want safe and reliable it's the Thinkware U1000.

Hi! BlackVue DR900X-Plus is nice. The Thinkware U1000 is lagging now as other dash cam manufactures have updated. Don't get the newer Thinkware Q1000 as it is worst than the U1000. The Viofo A129 Plus is better than the A129 Pro. Viofo A139 Pro is nice. Want a screen get the Viofo A229 Duo.
The sos feature is awesome goddamn I wasn't expecting that I hope this becomes more common. 7:35 That's a bummer dashcams release now shouldn't having that problem honestly. I really hope there's a low bit-rate recording. Also great job to the new guy.
As a note to readers, I just purchased this camera. Suction cup mount is no longer included. Suction cup mount requires a GPS. Buying an aftermarket one is impossible.
I tried to reach out to next base for assistance and getting any kind of high quality next base camera with a suction cup mount. It's been several days and I still haven't received a response. There are many complaints on the internet concerning their customer service. Needless to say, this camera will be returned tomorrow.

Like the G522 this cam also suffers with the usual bad camera picture quality, yeah looks good on sunny nice days with sun above or behind you, if it’s in front forget any decent footage
The biggest issue is the picture quality as with the 522 the 622 suffers as well contrast set low and biggest if all the gamma settings are off badly, overcast days and rainy days make for a muddy crushed picture and night footage is next to useless try catching a moving numberplate
Now yes there’s exposure adjustment but that doesn’t fix the gamma issue in fact it compounds nighttime issues and blurring on moving captures
If you have any skyline showing then the aggressive dimming and polarising again work to give a bad dark crushed high gamma image, just look at the trees etc how dark and crushed the shadows are,imagery should reflect what you see through windshield not a darker rendition
Now this can easily be fixed by firmware but as updates have come and gone I’m guessing it’s by design

So many years and still we don’t have a decent 5 (front and interior) hannel total coverage at a decent price…why the cameras manufacturers doesn’t make them…?????
For a long time there were limits to processing power versus heat output and cost. Recently we are seeing better and more efficient processors in dashcams that produce less heat. I suspect in the next couple years we'll have a full coverage options as manufacturers explore different form factors and processors become even more efficient.

No, we do not carry any wireless dash cams, unfortunately. We've had lots of reliability issues with them.
Do note that all these wires can be very cleanly installed in the vehicle's trim lining, panels, etc.

Which one is better?
Both are great options. The DR900X Plus has more advanced parking modes, while the Nextbase is easier to install and set up. The Nextbase gets all the basics right and is great for beginner dashcam users while the DR900X has more power user options.
Picture seems quite yellow tinted though.
With the 622 can I use the cabin dashcam and rear cam at the same time?
Unfortunately both the rear camera and cabin camera use the same port, so you cannot have both.
I just Purchased this Camera and wanted to know if Nextbase 622GW sells a suction Cup ? Because I do not see one on their website. I see you installed one on your video can you tell me which Model suction cup should I use ?
I'm afraid we do not sell this part by itself. I'd suggest contacting Nextbase directly to see if they do.
I actually ditched the suction cup and just use the 3m adapter.

How much footage time can you get on a 64gb or 128gb sd card?
Hi Jono, 64GB: Around 5 hours (1-Channel) and 3 hours (2-channel). Double them for 128GB.
Ok the big question!! Could it read number plates when the on move?
Hard to answer, David. It depends on the distance between you and the other cars, but it's pretty difficult for any dash cam to capture license plates when you're driving in opposite directions. But generally, if cars are moving in the same direction, the Nextbase 622GW will do just fine!
Yes!! I had the 522gw model and it was no problem ! Just take the SD car out and use a phone adapter and you will be able to see the video 4k and you will see the nr very clear!
Very informative review. My Nextbase 622GW Dashcam should be delivered tomorrow. I would like to use the Parking Mode feature but will be connecting the dash cam by using the 12V cigarette lighter cable. The power will switch off to the dash cam when I remove the key from the ignition. My question is, is it possible to use Parking Mode if the dash cam is connected to a small portable power bank? Even though the dash cam has an internal battery, watching other reviews, it has been mentioned the internal battery is down to about 10% of its capacity after approx. two years making it a limited feature.
Yes, using the built-in battery for the Nextbase camera is not ideal. You can connect this camera to a battery, but we mainly recommend dedicated battery packs over USB batteries. It sounds like the power bank method will be fine for me as I only want to use it periodically, especially when the internal battery on the dash cam starts losing its capacity. If I use a power bank for Parking Mode, won’t the dash cam (Nextbase 622GW) stay on as it does when it’s receiving power from the car, or will the Dashcam switch to standby mode when selecting Parking Mode manually. I wouldn’t want the Dashcam to continually record. Also, I asked the same question on another channel and was asked if I ever found out, to post my findings on their channel comments for others to read. Is it okay if I copy and paste your answer above including the link into the comments on their channel?
I’ve just purchased this dashcam after looking at other makes and customer reviews. I bought the kit for hardwiring it to the cars fuse box, I’m employing an auto electrician to do a neat professional installation. Parking power supply solved and no untidy cables hanging down the dashboard .
Don’t worry , you can use NextBase batter without problems , i do this since i have the camera and nothing bad

Hi there, yes Nextbase cameras can be disconnected from the adhesive mount easily with the magnet mount connection. You can take in the camera, but leave the camera stuck to the windshield.

Correct! Basically the mount sticks to the windshield with super strong adhesive, but the camera connects to the mount with the magnet

Too bulky, big attraction for thieves
It's not as big as you think - it's really about the same average size as most dash cams on the market.

I have a nextbase 622gw had it 2 months, and what a load of rubbish it is its as so manny problms you would not belive it, to start with is ant 4k ?? its only 4k when you dont use the image stablestition , it as a red tint and this is put on the video by nextbase i was told this by nextbase them selves . Its poor video full stop Dont buy its not worth anywhere the price.

Re the red tint. You can adjust the tint in the My Nextbase Player in the editing section.
