- Planet Earth season 1 is a 2006 television series produced by the BBC Natural History Unit. I did this montage to promote what I consider being the best documentary about our planet. I am grateful for life for the hard work BBC put into this. Many years will pass and I doubt other series will reach this quality and cinematography. I do not own the original footage and I am not making any money out of it. After I have watched all eleven episodes, I tried to compress the best shots in just one montage. That's how I come up with this 13 minutes montage. If you really like this I suggest you to watch the hole documentary because at the end of each fifty-minute episode, a ten-minute featurette takes a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of filming the series.

Yes unfortunetly it is dieing... Polution is making it become hotter and hotter, the destruction of the wildlife fauna for their rarety, and even forests for cattle production... Nuclear submarines killing wales with their powerfull sonnars, and everyone telling its a mistery, already as i write this comment 1/3 of all wild life is already extinct...i just hope mankind wakes up before it is too late... Greed Before Nature is this world system legacy...

When human gets too cocky and arrogant for what we achieved and furnished so we forget how tiny and insignificant we really are in this grand nature of cosmos. Our civilization is too timid that we deserve to call ourselves the greatest species on the planet and "caretakers of the Earth". So far, we have only let the Earth and nature take care of us.
Oh, in many aspects you are right, we should be the caretakers of the earth, may be we will be, or i really hope so.

+Knowledge IsPower these things are as precious and ephemeral like any flower. the astronomer royale and many other prominent scientists give these stunning colours and shapes 50% chance of being extinct by the end of this century... along with the vast majority of humans. the biggest threat is global warming, pollution, deforestation and over exploitation of ocean resources that constitute a huge imbalance in the food chains.
we spend globally almost 2000 billion $ in defence budgets. It is fascinating and scary at the same time, how beautiful, yet cruel nature can be. It's not the people who have the nature under control, but it's she who has us under control. We live on this planet and have to adapt. We can't control it anyway.
Life coming to an end, but it creates new life again. An eternal cycle.
But we can still be glad that we may live in such a beautiful planet! :) Unfortunately, we only have this one life.

But there are also animals who kill people for their survival. Natural disasters are often unpredictable. Yet it is mainly the people who destroy their own planet.
Well, there are many points of view, I would think.
I agree. We are what will end us. By thinking that killing sharks makes our oceans shaved to swim in, we're real lying threading the food chain. A lot of the time that we think we're helping, we're only helping dig our graves deeper and deeper till we can't even climb out. Humans are the plague to this world. Never gone will see that when society falls, there will be a group of animals just watching from far away. Slowly, as the cities collapse under our own weight. The animals will survive, but humans will not.
+Alexias B. Yes, natural disasters are unpredictable as well as so many other things from our human perception, but all these happens for some reason and higher cause. Nature's wisdom is endless. Nature is faultless. So many human activities have zero higher cause. They are made without deeper thought, regret and are often driven by total selfishness. There might be many views on the subject, but rest assured, nature make no mistakes. Everything has it's place and meaning, whether it is earthquake, wildfire or draught. We can only blame ourselves in some cases or learn to accept and go with the ways of nature.
