@danielkirk5660 Wow. I had a Note 9 too (still have it and use it) and I used the S Pen every single day. Can't imagine living without it to be honest. I only got the S Ultra because it's the return of the Note. Personally I think the S+ would be the phone for you then.
The S22 Ultra is starting to become tempting as the prices drop. I'm going to wait to see whether the camera upgrades make much difference before deciding.

Just been watching the event. They spent 25 minutes prattling on about the camera and 8 minutes about the entire new phone. It’s pretty much identical to last year’s model and in some areas even worse. Think they’re gonna struggle to sell these phones this year, especially at the stupidly high asking price.
I agree it is similar and I also noticed mostly about cameras not the phone the front facing camera was 40 or 50 mp then it went down to 12 mp but I think it takes better pictures
Samsung making a big deal out of upping the camera to 200 megapixels then reducing the selfie camera from 40 megapixels to 12 megapixels tells me that more pixels doesn’t necessarily mean better pictures! Anyone that buys this phone this year is absolutely bat shit crazy! One of the most expensive phones on the market too! 🤦🏻♂️
I have a galaxy S22U and im gonna keep it for 5 years. There isnt anything thats incredibly unqiue to upgrade for. Plus, im not dishing out over 1k every year. Thats crazy.

I currently have a s10+ 512. I walked into best buy today to window shop and saw that we're now in the s23 models. I've taken up some photography but I don't have any fancy camera and my s10 can only do so much. This looks like a worthy upgrade since I personally prefer Samsung to Apple.

On Google FI's store, it's now only $600, jeez why did I upgrade to an S22 Ultra for $900 near end of last year. Granted, my phone was having issues, so it was sort of urgent to get a new phone.
From what I've heard they've made some pretty big improvements to the speakers too, they've been compared favourably to the iPhone, which is definitely not too shabby itself.
I recently busted the glass on my Huawei P40 Pro (which apparently just has normal glass!) so I went with a used S22 Ultra from eBay instead, for €670. Definitely a better deal than the €1,639 that Samsung are asking for an S23 Ultra! I know it doesn't have the 200MP camera, but I'll happily wipe my tears away with all the €50 notes that I saved..
As an industrial electrician... high fidelity and low light pics are super handy. I have a S22 Ultra now, which does have a pretty good battery life, but if this one is more efficient then even better. The clock speed is a pretty decent upgrade, at least on paper. I'd say most users probably won't benefit from it. I wish phone manufacturers would start putting the speakers facing you, rather than out the top and bottom, tho. I vaguely remember a phone back in the mid 2000s that had that.

I guess I saved money from buying S22 Ultra in December rather than waiting for S23 Ultra. There isn't that many upgrades but the price upgrade is really noticable 😂 But the 1TB storage is very attractive to me.. Still, the trade in value of S22 Ultra is too low for me to spend so much for an extra 500gb storage. I have the 512gb version. I guess I'll save up on storage for now and wait for 1 or 2 more years before getting 1TB.. Man if only expandable storage is still a thing.

Base storage is 256GB now but you need the 512GB version for 12GB of RAM now. I hope the battery life can compete with the S21 Ultra as I've found that to be the best Samsung phone for battery.
And there's no 16 GB option at all. Meanwhile, all the way back in 2019, it was possible to have an S10+ with 12 GB RAM, 1 TB internal storage AND a 1 TB microSD.
@Danijel Ujčič my S21 has 16GB RAM and it's very noticeable. Unfortunately RAM seems to be quite the premium since then, hence no 16GB models for the S22 and now S23.

In Belgium you pay 299 euros for the 23 Ultra for the 512GB with a provider with a subscription ;). 56 euros for the subscription. And Friday or Monday I have the S23 Ultra, we don't have to wait until February 17 ;). And finally, now no more exynos.

Yes Chris. The Design is like the old experia or what the xperia should have looked liked. I've been with sony for a while and switch to the note10 cause i love the boxy design. Now i'm on s22U and will hold on to it for a while. Hopefully this will last until S26U. I just wish some cases from the s23U will fit on s22U as the dimensions are identical except for the button placements, mic and camera size.

Gen2 should be more efficient.. at this point i would want a foldable with big battery and as efficient as possible cpu . Battery life and plastic foldable screen is what killed it for me, and made me decide against it .

I just bought the Xperia 5 II last year. No overheating chip and still a great phone with an audio jack and SD card support.

Kept my LG G7 thinq for 4.5 years. Still have it in a spare line and use it as a hotspot for work in the field.

Is it good to upgrade from ROG Phone 2 to S23U? I'm more of a media consumer (watches a lot on phone and play games) than (taking photos, editing and posting on social media)

Great phone. Weird that the design is almost identical, I guess they're taking after apple. I'm more excited about the processor than anything really.
New chip is great and the 200mp camera should mean way better photos but everything else is the same essentially

That's why I ordered the s23 instead of 22. Want the new chip. Still love my 9+ though, but after 5 yrs, it's time.
I've just traded in my s22 ultra for the green s23 ultra. I was happy with the trade in deal especially given I got the 512gb version instead of my usual 128gb. Can't wait. 😁😁
I love my S21 Ultra ...especially because it seems like they got rid of directors view and that is one badass feature my s21 ultra has :)

Gen2 should be more efficient.. at this point i would want a foldable with big battery and as efficient as possible cpu . Battery life and plastic foldable screen is what killed it for me, and made me decide against it .
