Wish they would make an Ultra-Mini. Same tech as the Ultra, but as small as possible. I don't need a giant screen, but I do like having the best possible image quality. Samsung wants to establish a phone design that can stand for generations to come. Similar to how Apple does it with their iphones. You dont see them change designs drastically. I can say for a fact the S22+ & S22 Ultra both take noticeably better pics than the S21+ another family member has. The S20 we had before isn't even close. We've done several side-by-sides of the same subject matter. The more challenging the lighting situation the more the improvement. The color tones are consistently better too. Some people say there aren't many improvements year to year, but that's not true. If you're a phone camera power-user who cares about pictures, or want more creativity, newer tech and AI has made them a lot better in the last couple years. We ditched our DSLR. Newer phones do a better job in just about all cases, even when pixel-peeping on a big 4k TV (via a HDMI cable). One of our family members may upgrade to the S23 this year. Cant wait to see the improvements. It looks like there are several. But if pictures aren't a user's thing, there may not be enough benefits to upgrade (this yr). Can't wait to see more reviews. Thanks Chap!

This is what i really wanted to know. I have a note 20 ultra but the screen went out. Which is normally a cheap fix because of my coverage but, the back glass shattered meaning they have to total the phone for $250. So looking at upgrade options. I was between the ultra and the plus.
      1. I hate the edge on the ultras and previous notes. Screen protector nightmare.
      2. I dont use the s pen that often anymore.
      3. At&t had a deal where the plus will be free with trade in in any condition and the ultra is $5/month for 36 months.
Plus seems like it will be much more enjoyable day to day. Though the screen and ram are degraded. The lower ram shouldnt be noticable with it being faster and coupled with a faster processor. The screen was my only concern

I currently have a an S9 (s5 before that and s3 before that). I am considering an S23+ or Ultra. The idea of a larger screen and more memory is intriguing to me but I'm worried it may be too big. I have large hands... I'm 6'3" so big guy. Looking for feedback from those that have made the switch to the large phone. Not as concerned about the cost as much as the size. Also, what about those square edges on ultra? Will it hurt my hand after awhile? I use it a lot. Oh, and is a lot brighter outside than the S9? That alone would be a big improvement for me. Thanks for any feedback!

This isn't some ground breaking comment, but I'm getting pretty tired of companies releasing $1k+ phones every year and barely changing anything. Nice cameras are cool, but if you're really into photography, 1k will get you a really solid DSLR (you can get a used 5D mark iv for around that). If you need a big surface, get a tablet. I don't want all these things crammed into one phone to where the company itself doesnt even trust their own product's longevity and so they dish out a new one each year with a slightly different camera and slightly better processing. I want a phone that is quick, has good battery, comes with a charging cable AND brick, comes with a screen protector and case, and lasts longer than a year or two. I dont replace my laptop, my gaming system, my guitar amp, my recording software every year, so why are phones any different?

I would go for the ultra but it has too many personal cons that outweigh the pros.
Yes, i like QHD but i hate the edge screen. I hate it. Screen protectors for it suck. Iv gone through many cases.
Iv also found myself using my S pens less and less these days so i dont have much need for one.
The ultra does have 12GB ram on the 512 option which i like.
Imma go for the s23+. Should have great battery, its not much different in size from my note 8 which looks fine on FHD+ (still stupid they didnt give the s23+QHD). And the s23+ has 45w charging, higher storage and the faster ram
And the biggest thing is. At&t has a deal on all three with a trade in. So while i can get the ultra with 36 payments of $5. The s23+ will will have no payments at all.
So all together, as much as im triggered by the fhd screen, the s23 is the better option for me.
Also, quick note on the ram. While its only 8GB, you generally shouldnt see much difference if your stepping down from 12 as its faster memory coupled with a much faster processor so tasks are handled much quicker so anything thats ram intensive should get bogged down as its speed is keeping up with its slight lack of space

As the Samsung Note 20 Ultra phone turns 2 years old, some of then develop a screen fault. The issue manifests itself in the form of a perpendicular green line which requires the screen to be replaced. This phone goes bad even without being dropped or abused. It is most certainly a manufacturing defect. Ever since the introduction of the note series, in the past 20 years I have purchased several Samsung note series phone and this is the first time a Samsung Note phone has developed an issue like this. Samsung’s service charges to replace screen are also quite pricy at SGD 400 and comes with an insignificant warranty of 1 month.
Designs can go wrong. The least Samsung can do is to make the replacement cost more affordable. Now I hesitate to buy Samsung Note 23 Ultra and have decided to wait and watch to see if any significant fault surfaces before investing in it.

Samsung perfected smartphones... Except little lag in camera shutter...
There is nothing that is not good...
    No Heating...
    No battery drain...
No ecosystem problems( samsung Ecosystem is very good )
    Cameras were Already best...
Software support is second to only apple..
    Brand value is great..

Looking to upgrade from my S10+ to the S23+

Great analysis!! But the prices are way too high.
I was here just waiting for the S23 release so I could decide which Android to buy and replace my iPhone 13 PM. Then the S23 ultra costs €1399.
    Sorry but no!

Hello - Can I ask - on the s23 Ultra - Is it safe to use 45w charger or will this damage battery in the long run? Should we stick to just a 25w charger?

You're fine to use the 45watt. When you plug in, the screen should show Super fast charging. It's quite a bit faster for me from 40 to like 90%.
