This is my opinion , when Mercedes first tried to negotiate with NIO they brought into the meeting their huge historical name recognition. Mercedes with long history of quality built German cars. They thought NIO which is a fairly new EV company would jump at the chance of negotiating with Mercedes and accept any terms offered, no it didn’t work. NIO said no thanks we want our terms. Now that NIO has signed on several major brands into battery swapping and Mercedes EVs are doing horrible they are coming back to the table. In every negotiations each companies negotiating are trying to leverage the other company into their favor, in the first negotiations Mercedes thought they had the upper hand and tried to set the terms, didn’t work.
Nio’s logo should be on every swap station along with what ever partner, nio power zeeker, nio power mercedies, nio power Chery, nio power whatever….ect

What about keeping NIO as the first logo brand on the battery station and ADDING the other brands onto it? There's plenty of space and would still put NIO first in the line!!! If that isn't an option, KEEP only the NIO brand on the battery station!!! Final option, the NIO brand on it, but add on ONE additional logo representing shared brand partnerships. Go #NIO !!! :)

NIO should consider spinning off its energy sector to make it more appealing for other brands to collaborate. Think about it this way: if Disney had invented the DVD, it would have been much harder for companies like Warner Bros., Paramount, and Fox to adopt the same standard. By making Battery Swap a separate entity, NIO could encourage wider industry adoption and help establish it as a universal standard, benefiting the entire EV ecosystem
Geely and NIO OWN Lotus Technology, the electric vehicle division of Lotus (with 30% ownership by a Malaysian entity) ...so no surprise that they are working together.
There is one thing about Nio stock is that in view of all the positive news it keeps going in the opposite direction
Why should people trust in a new brand like this? Problem is when they start to believe in it, it will be late. There are crazy people buying right now. And some will make millions taking the risk.

@@CapeFear1 You have no idea what you are talking about. How long did it take Tesla to become profitable and for their share price to go up? It took a long time. Nio’s stock price wont start heading north until they show a profit, which will be end of this year or beginning of next year. It’s funny that you say failed business when its the way of the future..
@David_Financial okay hope you are correct. But I've been in for 4 years now and I'm down 67 percent of my investment with never having sold a single share. Call me skeptical, it seems they are a car company that doesn't sell enough cars in their own country. I call that failure.

but ideally NIO would want all station to be available to all partners, otherwise you might find 3 or 4 or 5 different swap station maybe on same street with different brands

Currently, NIO is collaborating with 7-8 companies to establish standards for electric vehicles with swappable batteries. If standardization is achieved, consumers will be able to compare the benefits and convenience of swappable battery EVs versus integrated battery EVs, gaining direct and indirect experiences with the swappable option. This will likely lead to a preference for swappable battery EVs. Consequently, all electric vehicle manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, will be compelled to produce swappable battery EVs, even if reluctantly.
If there was a deal with any other ev car company, I think Nio should definitely keep its brand name on every swap stations, and I don't think it will be weird to swap a Mercedes battery on a Nio swap station, this is their tech just Like shell, exon, BP owns their gas stations.

Alright so I know Mr P has given some clickbait rumors in the past! However, on several occasions he's been spot on!!! So, what he said makes perfect sense about Mercedes. And Mercedes isn't stupid so I'm sure they want to evolve!!!! Hopefully it's true about the swap partnership because the recognition would be over the Top! With the r&d costs for batteries and charging, eventually there will just be a few main players that licence out or build all the batteries for ev’s and set the standard for charging. The main ice automakers have no interest.
Maybe NIO can create a new sub brand called NP (NIO Power) similar to BP (petrol station) 😝

you are correct, but addressing this issue opens the options for some companies who objects, e.g. I can imagine if Apple had a car they would object, but other car brand might not

Lotus is not really an international brand anymore - its a Chinese owned brand name.

If Mercedes wants to sell EV cars in China.....no choice. Premium buyers want the best tech and Mercedes does not have it.
What Mercedes should ask is having its name on the european swap stations. Maybe there will be a merging company between nio/Mercedes like stellantis/leap motor.

There are 7 swap battery Companies in China and NIO is No.1, leading company which is far away from No.2. As a conclusion, NIO will be monopoly in swap battery technology, not only in China but a whole world when the battery pack of NIO is standardised. You like or you don't like, you must use NIO standard battery if you want to sell EV Cars. This is the best strategy ever to control EV Industry. I believe NIO has no competition in future unless if there is a new technology to replace swap battery technology.

Hello my Nio pumper friend ! Are you saying we are going to see another monumental short squeeze of the stock with this amazing news this morning ? Nio closed at $ 5.40 last Friday. Dropping steadily this morning. Currently $ 5.12. Next stop $ 3.80 which is the last resistance level left. Maybe stop talking for a month.
