    Rocks and stones every step... crap shoes.
    Also the sole cracks after 6 months

      I love how suddenly today this video has started getting comments. Interesting, but to the point: I totally agree. These shoes really suck. Rocks get stuck in them. They have no support and are uncomfortable too. Mine haven’t cracked yet but I’m sure that’s coming.

    Really well-done, quick video on a pair of boots I have been considering buying! You gave really good descriptions on all of the aspects of them too!

    I dig the unique palladium look, more of a fashion statement for me. Not much reviews out there so this was great

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Their classic model is quite a versatile piece of footwear and as an added bonus they make good winter/waterproof boots and also low and mid cut shoes. Basically you can get whatever type of shoe style you want all with the palladium quality and look.

    Found these at the salvation army store for 5 bucks in worn once condition. Glad I picked them up, I bet they will live much longer than my converse. Have a great day

      @@pucknhusker9426 you’re the only person I’ve ever heard say that. Palladiums are well known for their rubber durability. Usually the upper falls apart first. Maybe yours were just defective.

      @NathanKnepper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I’d have to agree. I wore my pair while doing all sorts of work. They’ve been exposed to oil, dirt, solvents, and on accident… battery acid. They’re still very much intact. The canvas is definitely worn though.

    Great video! Been on the fence about these (though I do own a pair of Palladium Tactical Zip Boots, hard to find these days but they're fantastic) but based on your review I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on them. Thanks!

    I prefer Palladium deep grooves than to boots like Doc Marten. Palladium takes some time for the sole to wear out. Mine took 5 years to wear out only half of the soles.

    great video! Would you say they are quite narrow fit ? Any recommendations for wide feet ?

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In my experience with quite a few different canvas/rubber shoes like this I'd say they tend to be a good all rounder. Not too wide not too narrow. If you plan on getting a waterproof version (not the plain canvas) to wear in the winter, order a half size up and wear thick wool socks with them. You shouldn't have any pinching issues if you do that. In terms of other products that are like these, well, I really haven't found anything like palladiums so far.

    what is their temperature regime?

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For these, being mostly canvas, I wouldn't wear them in any environment where you'll be encountering snow higher than 2 inches. If you're going to be outside in cold weather you could wear thick wool socks with them and they'd be fine. Honestly just check out their site. They have a few options with insulation that are also waterproof (these are not).

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say around 1/2 to 2/3 of an inch. The boot isn’t too slanted forward as there is a good bit of tread on the front too.

    • @NathanKnepper

      Legendary Whitetails Journeyman flannel lined canvas shirt jacked. Love the look of it BUT sadly I think it could be constructed a little better. The armpit seam on one side ripped when I was putting it on once so that was disappointing. Their customer service is pretty decent however. Nice Collective also has amazing canvas coats if you can find a good one used. They're VERY expensive and usually custom made in small batches. Found mine on ebay pretty worn for around $80

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure you could use a canvas waterproofer on them but no they're not very water proof but the do dry quickly! I know from personal experience! They have some more waterproof versions made of leather and I think are even lined to be warmer (good winter boots) and they recently released a special edition in colab with (I believe) Michelin tires that's supposed to be great out in the elements

  • @AdnanAlsannaa

    They're good, but I won't walk on hours with them. That's really my only issue with these boots is the comfort. I love how they look. They're super sturdy and I had mine for years. But it's just not something that I would wear for even half a day of walking around

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a good point. If you're not used to wearing shoes that aren't super comfortable they might be somewhat painful. Personally I'm always breaking in new pairs of leather boots so I've grow used to the constant pain 😂 thick leather, thin cork layer, hard rubber sole, concrete. They do become very comfortable after a few months tho (leather boots)

    Not skate shoe inspired, Palladium boots originated after WW2, made famous by their use by the French Foreign Legion.

    • @NathanKnepper
      @NathanKnepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the correction. I was more referring to the style of shoe/boot, canvas with a rubber sole, but you would be correct about them being used in WW2. Apparently palladium even made aviation tires which is super cool!

      @@NathanKnepper That would be a great video! I’ve been searching for USA made canvas sneakers and I’m surprised how few there are! Woobies and Opie Way are made in the US. Rancourt used to make canvas sneakers. And since PF Flyers sold, they no longer offer a USA made line.
