Palladium Boots - Are they actually intended for heavy use?

  • Watch the video for my experience. I'm sure you can find someone with a different opinion, but these are my results after actually using them heavily for over a year and a half. Using boots in -30F all the way to rain and wet conditions, to very hot and high humidity isn't easy on them.

    I've had a pair for around 4 years and they are still in perfect condition. They are durable and breathable. My feet never smell bad. A con is that they are very slippery in metal surfaces, like wet escalators, so watch out.
    I can't recommend their leather products though, those made my feet stink.

    • @hmpeter

      Yeah, really a shame their soles are so slippery. I use the leather boots, canvas boots and canvas sneakers for many years and really like how they fit. But I can't bring them when I know there will be wet stone or metal surfaces. We have lots of cobblestone roads here, so I can't even use them outside of hiking in the wet & cold half of the year. (I had some close calls with the potential of seriously hurting me, so I eventually gave up.)

    my palladium around 8 years old now and its my daily shoes. yes i only have a pair of shoes LOL
    i walked alot, usually around 4km from bus stations to my home.
    the longest walk with this shoes around 10km and it still comfortable, its not hurt and light.
    i love the rubber it not even damage after 8 years because i tend to drag my feet when i walk.
    my other boots before this like my docmart already lost some of its buttom just for months.
    definitely the BEST boots in the world. the durability is unmatch.

    I like the style of this boot. Since I bought mine they have come out with a waterproof style. I had to put inserts in mine to make them more comfortable, but if you have wider feet like I do it will take time to break them in. Sadly, I haven't been able to break mine in as I don't last more than a few hours in them. The length fits fine, but the width just is a little tight. They did not have wider sizes nor do I think they were offered when I first bought mine. Still, they are nice...I just have to break them in.

      @@thetshirtblog All of mine are fabric. The pair I spoke of I gave away. Funny thing is I bought two that fit perfect and they happened to be the same size as the one I gave away. I’m thinking the first one might have had the size mislabeled. Now I can’t stop wearing them. Very comfortable. Love the style, but now they’re comfortable too. Been wearing one of the two frequently to test durability. Seems to be holding up. Maybe that’s why I couldn’t break in the first one.

    I think from the way I lace mine it causes the toe cap/toe box to rip. I have had multiple pairs and they rip the same way but arguably I do swear by these when it comes to light breathable quick drying boots. The grip even on loose dirt is great. I just wish they wouldn't split

    Good boots overall. I mainly bought them for their canvas material, which I expected to be somewhat coolerand breathable in summer than leather. Unfortunately this is a high boot that you have to tie to the very top, which makes your feet feel very hot very fast, despite the canvas. So that makes them a bit problematic for summer for me and that's disappointing. :(

    I own the Pampa hi and only was able to wear them for one day. Most uncomfortable shoes ever for me. Very tight and painful on the sides and thats after exchanging for a half size larger and loosening the laces. The bottom part in the inner curve of one of my feet also felt like it was stepping on the rubber sole at the bottom. Difficult to explain, but very annoying and painful to walk in.

    • @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan
      @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find people either think they're very comfortable or too tight, especially folks with wide feet as I mention in the review. I think I have more average or possibly narrow feet so they are quite comfortable for me personally. Generally though, boots take a break in period before they become more comfortable I think right? Maybe not, I'm no expert. Thanks for sharing man! Appreciate your views sincerely

    • @QuintinSarren
      @QuintinSarren ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GTMGunTotinMinnesotan yeah, I prefer more space in my shoes so I think I just have wide feet despite only being a size 8-8.5 oddly enough. I think it'll take some time to break into them but my only course of action would be to unlace them and then lace them with my foot inside to maximize comfort as accurately as I can. Just sucks that they were a Christmas gift and I can't complain too much or return them. No probs brother

However they have many other options that are really good like the pampa hi. They even have one out that is more like the original that that made for the french foreign legion called the pallabrouse legion looks good. Also I believe they are phasing out this one for pampa travel lite which has the same sole as the pampa lite packin. They are a few others with the same sole they call it lite tech which is EVA and rubber combo.

    • @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan
      @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally yes, but it depends what kind of foot rests you have, and if the toe cap would mess up your shifting at all. Most guys are experienced enough that the dual material on the toe cap shouldn't throw them off. They aren't like a true riding boot though, tar will burn right through these in a skid.

  • @mxblyxky
    @mxblyxky ปีที่แล้ว

    The first thing I'm seeing, even though you have your finger in front of, is that your boots have heels. Were you born with heels? No. And why are you wearing shoes with heels? The heel or unevenness in shoes causes your ankle, knee, hip and spine joints to assume an incorrect position, causing future trauma and pain in these joints. The famous Timmberland brand features heels in almost all of its shoes, so it should be discarded. Often the unevenness is on the inside and you feel it immediately when you put the shoes on. So, whether it's sneakers, boots, shoes, galoshes or snadals if you have a slight unevenness in the heel, don't buy it, your joint health will thank you.
