For me a great ambition is to put yourself in a position where you can look back at your training and there was nothing else you could of done within the time you had available to get any faster.
That was our target with @daveteuts
Dave is in a leadership position at his accountancy firm so balancing his time was critical.
There were loads of areas we targeted to milk all of the potential out of every second Dave had available to train.
We deployed the PME method (Precision, Mindset, Enjoyment)
A big thing for Dave was also managing his number obsession and channeling all of his high standards in the right way.
Dave also was a big participant in our Edge Rowing Team community, taking advantage of being surrounded by similar like minded individuals.
We did specific race week prep, talked through exactly what to expect and how to handle it.
We worked on a pacing plan in training and ran through visualisation training. We were able to pretty closely predict what form he was on using our data base and score predictors.
I flew out to world indoors to support him and some of the other team members.
Dave smashed it, taking 24 second off of his 2k in around 7 months pulling an impressive 6:31.
