    I'm a Djoko fan, but I have to give this to Fed: as the years come and go, one thing seems never to change, and that is that Fed is the most stylish player of 'em all. His presence and elegance on the tennis court is unmatched in the men's game. If Fed had not come first, Novak and Rafa would not have become quite the true greats that they are today. Fed set the bar really high. Congrats to him for doing that, and congrats to them for pushing themselves to meet his loftiest of all standards on the court.

      @shubhamtoshniwal8841 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Now that it's clear that GS may not work in RF's favor, let's just use the elegance logic. Love his elegance but please be logical in your conclusion. Elegance is not equal to the best. And no he's a clear third in the race now. I think Djokovic doesn't even need to win the same number of GS to equal/surpass Fed, he already has a far superior record. And Nadal has obviously already equalled him, and will soon surpass Fed. Not to mention they have way more masters as well.

      @@shubhamtoshniwal8841 I actually do give Federer a pass on the Masters, given there are ZERO Masters tournaments on grass, 3-4 on clay, and 5-6 on hardcourt. But his performance in majors against Djokovic, in particular, is just where he clearly falls flat, and for that reason alone, needs to be considered #3 at this point. Just a few more very attainable wins, and he'd still be ahead. Notably, 2011 US Open and 2019 Wimbledon, with perhaps 2015 US Open thrown in, and he would still be far ahead of Djokovic in majors. Along with Federer's recent dominance against Rafa, you could make the case Rafa's major wins are too imbalanced to be considered the best of all time, although it would be debatable. Also, he missed some key opportunities to face Rafa in a major in recent majors such as 2018 wimbledon and 2019 US Open (although he was injured in that match). But it's really about how he just got beaten in the big moments by Djokovic. For some reason, he tightened up and faltered. If he was just too old, too slow, that would be one thing, but it wasn't that. That's why I wondered if he could have used a good sports psychologist. He is 6-11 vs. Djokovic in majors. 8-9 would be perfectly respectable, given the age difference, although he won his first 4 before Novak entered his prime. I actually do believe Roger is the best all around, but basing it on his record, objectively speaking, one can not say that anymore. Also, it shouldn't be forgotten that the standard he set clearly raised the bar for Novak and Rafa - that shouldn't be forgotten.

    • @TZOUTZAS
      @TZOUTZAS 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shubhamtoshniwal8841 That is exactly what I am saying. The statistical difference between the three of them is very small. RF proves that statistics is the scientific way to tell lies.

Once Roger has got over his 30 years, both Rafa and Djokovic would have won many more big titles, considering that there are still fewer consistent top class players than 15-20 years ago. I know it's impossible but imagine Federer beating Djoker in Quarter and then an unimaginable victory against nadal lol. When no one expects it, he finally beats Nadal and Djoker in a single GS. Oh well, one can only dream haha. Yes yes, I know it's a dream.

    • @RandomRawrrr
      @RandomRawrrr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@codegeek-il5fm haha near impossible but not completely 100%! Roger does have no pressure coming into this tournament and can play way more free than his rivals. Every match won will also only increase his confidence and cause him to play better as he progresses into the later stages. So, I mean, he has a chance at doing that. Even though that chance is probably less than what? 1%? 🤣🤣

    People were counting this dude out literally 9 years, 4 slams, and 40 titles ago. If healthy, has just a good a chance as any in any slam. 2 years removed from clay and went to the semis, and if you really watched that match, in the horrid winds that Nadals style is built for, it was much closer than the score said. Only win Nadal has against him in the last half decade.

    • @streetspirit956
      @streetspirit956 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree entirely. That FO semi against Nadal was a complete washout because of how blustery the conditions were. Not saying Federer would have won if conditions were normal but I feel the match would have at least been closer and not beyond the realms of possibility that Fed could even had won. Fed had beaten Nadal in their previous 5 meetings albeit none on clay

    • @ddt8883
      @ddt8883 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@streetspirit956 previous 6 and 7 of the last 8. Aside from that one clay match, Federer has beat him the last 6 years. 3 of the matches were straight set slaughters in around an hour. Once he shored up the backhand and taking the ball earlier, Nadal has no weapons to beat him now. I definitely agree if conditions were better, the match would've been different. Not saying he would win, but Federers game is predicated on variety and accuracy. Those conditions were tailor-made for Nadal and his heavy top spin.

    • @rokz7608
      @rokz7608 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@streetspirit956 lets be real. Federer never won nadal in RG. So the chances of that were like 10% even without wind. But I don't think his game is the problem,but his mentality there. Rafa is just in his "hometown".

    Roger played 3 matches in 2021 leading up to this. Lost 2 of them and the win was a TIGHT one. Before those 3 matches, a 14 month break. Roger just strolls into a grand slam on what is statistically his worst surface, at age 39, and puts an absolute beatdown on a guy who once beat Novak Djokovic at AO. Thought Roger would win but also thought Istomin had a chance given Rogers lack of play. And Rog absolutely destroyed him. 93 minutes. Super quick for a best of 5 on clay. Dont even think Novak or Rafa had wins as quick as that all tournament.
    Fun fact: the length of this match was the same as the THIRD SET ALONE between Rafa and Novak in the semifinals.
    Fed lost only 13 points on serve all match. In 3 sets. ON CLAY. He also served at 95% in the first set. When he swings freely and plays with no pressure like he did on this day, he was just so so dangerous. Even when not feeling his best physically.
    Sad hes now retired but what an amazing career he had. Once a goat, always a goat.
