Mr. Graham made a comment in this video that he has studied the Bible for more than 20 years. I wish he was alive today for him to explain to me John 3:13 and John 5:28-29. Very few people are in heaven. A vast majority of the dead (are sleeping) waiting for the first resurrection, when Jesus comes again. Clearly in 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18 is another confusing set of scriptures. When Jesus died, even he didn’t go to Heaven, he rested in the grave until the Sabbath was over. He being God in the flesh didn’t go to heaven. Come to think about it, Lazarus was dead in the time for four days, when Jesus said Lazarus come forth, Lazarus did say why did you snatch out of Heaven, so after four days he was called out of his sleep. When the time comes your not going to know how long ago you died. It will seam like you were eating breakfast one minute, and the next minute John 5:28-29 just a cured. It will seam like to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord. Even though 500 years went by. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the living know that they will die, but the dead no not anything. I had died three times. I remember nothing. No light, no tunnel no purely gates. Clearly your soul sleeps until the Christ comes back. Back in the beginning God formed man from the dust of the earth, breathed into the nostrils and man became a living soul. When you die it’s the breath of life that returns back to God, who gave it. The soul sleeps. It’s like a light bulb. Turn of the electric power and the light leaves the bulb. But the fixture is still there, wires are still there it’s waiting for the power to go on before the light bulb will produce light. I followed Billy for 43 years, every time he was on the TV I was tuned in. The stance I take now is if it’s in the Bible I want it, if it’s not in the Bible I don’t want it. I’m not a troll, Im just deepening my understanding. If something is in conflict in the Bible, you need to figure out were you went wrong. The Bible is Gods Holy word, and it stands for correction and reproof. second Timothy 3:12. It’s not going to ever have conflicting information. I once told our church elder, you have to accept every word of the Bible, or non of it. It’s not a smorgasbord of pick and choose. I do thank Billy Graham for publicly stating that the “Ten Commandments” are just as valid today, as when God gave them to Moses 3000 years ago.

Good afternoon. I read your comment and found it interesting so I decided to Google John3:13 and a explanation was found on a site called Compelling Truth. It was a good read and very comforting. So just Google the scripture and scroll down until u see the Compelling Truth topic. Have a wonderful day

Tammy Baker I was able to locate the web site with no problem. I entered the scripture and searched. Nothing came back except I did get a response back for John 3:14. Oh well...... clearly when scriptures support other scriptures then it is what it is. At any time when scriptures conflict that’s when you need to investigate as to when you went wrong and why. 2 Timothy 3:16 says that the Bible is inspired by God. It’s also infallible, and stands up to teaching and instruction. So it will never will be in conflict with its own teachings. Have a blessed day!

@@marctompkins3001 Good evening and thanks for responding back. The word of God is awesome!!! The way that I found it was to Google John 3:13,hit search and then scroll until u see Compelling Truth. If u Google Compelling Truth first it doesn't do anything for whatever reason. I found it quite interesting so search John 3:13 first and then scroll until u see Compelling truth. Have a great day Marc

Yes, there is life after death, but not until we are resurrected as promised. However we do not have immortal souls. The immortal soul is a pagan concept not taught in the Bible. Salvation is not about _where_ you'll spend eternity. You won't even _have_ an eternity, of any sort, anywhere, unless you receive from God the gift of eternal life. Otherwise after judgement you'll perish in what the Bible calls the "second death" after which there is no more hope of life or resurrection.
The wicked will perish. There is no eternal, conscious torment in some sort of "hell." Here are verses showing the wicked will be destroyed and will not "be" anymore:
"For yet a little while, and *_the wicked shall not be:_* yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be" (Psalms 37:10).
"When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that *_they shall be destroyed for ever"_* (Psalms 92:7).
"The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but *_destruction_* shall be to the workers of iniquity" (Proverbs 10:29).
"As the whirlwind passeth, *_so is the wicked no more:_* but the righteous is an everlasting foundation" (Proverbs 10:25).
The apostle Paul wrote, "For *_the wages of sin is death;_* but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Yes, the wages of sin is death, not eternal life in some sort of burning hellfire. We either perish through death, or we receive the gift of eternal life: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not *_perish,_* but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Those are the two alternatives; we perish in death, or else we receive the gift of eternal life.

After a fire goes out, what's left? Ashes and rising smoke. What's left after the wicked are are destroyed? Ashes and rising smoke: _"And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this."_ Seriously, are the people of Sodom and Gomorrah still burning?
I recommend you study hell instead of jumping to conclusions. You'll discover that "hell" in the KJV NT appears 23 times and was translated from three different original Greek words, ( _gehenna, hades_ and _tartaroo),_ each of which has a different meaning!
_Gehenna_ (used 12 times) was a reference to the dump outside Jerusalem, where fires burned day and night destroying the trash. Jesus likened the fate of the wicked to being destroyed in the dump, thrown into "gehenna fire." They will be destroyed: _"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."_ "Hell" in that verse is from the Greek _gehenna,_ the dump. Their destruction is eternal in the sense that it will be permanent and final; it is not perpetual, ongoing punishing. "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23), not eternal life in torment.
_Hades_ (used 10 times) means the grave, the place of the dead waiting for their resurrection for judgement.
_Tartaroo_ (used once) is a reference to the "place" where some fallen angels are being held in isolation, no longer able to "mess" with humanity.
You can look these all up yourself with an online Bible tool.

The Bible Says - with all the respect, Sir/Ma'am...if you said the wicked will simply perish, they would choose living easily in sins and do not care about being perished instead of receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior and diligently do His commands.
Consider your comment before you MISLEAD PEOPLE who read it.
"Perish" means perish from God's presence and His glory.
Read Luke 16:19-31 (the richman and Lazarus), why he has to cry in torment of fire if he has been perished???

Mayumi Ichikawa "There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out." (Luke 13:28)
Weeping and gnashing of teeth, why? They will have mental anguish when they see others receiving eternal life and realize that they, too, could have received eternal life were it not for their own foolish choices.
I quoted many verses showing the unsaved will perish and will be destroyed; they "shall not be."
*Salvation is not about - and never was about - **_where_** you'll spend eternity. You won't even **_have_** an eternity, of any sort, anywhere, unless you receive from God the gift of eternal life.* "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Unless you receive eternal life from God you will perish in death, specifically the "second death" after resurrection for judgement.
Jesus staged the account of Lazarus and the rich man in the common Greek mythology of that time (torment in hell, eg), knowing His listeners would recognize it as such and look for the real meaning. Jesus gave a hint to the identity of the rich man when He said the rich man had five brothers. The Jews knew their genealogy well and realized the rich man symbolized them, the Jews: the father of their tribe, Judah, had five brothers. (The parents were Jacob and Leah, as recounted in Genesis 35:23.)
The Jews were rich owing to their covenant with God, promising them national blessings and inheritance of the Kingdom of God. Lazarus represented the gentiles, outside the rich man's gate, without access to the promises. The parable showed that those who were "in Abraham's bosom" - had the faith of Abraham, and believed and obeyed - would be the ones who would inherit blessings and the Kingdom of God.
Jesus gave a similar parable in Matthew 21:33-49. Here, a man [God] built a vineyard and rented it out to husbandmen [Israel, including the Jews] who failed "to render him the fruits in their seasons." They even killed the servants and the son he sent to collect what was due. Jesus warned "Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."
The parable is about belief and repentance and how believing Gentiles would be favored over unbelieving Jews. How did the "rich man" fail? He had lacked belief and so failed to repent. He figuratively begged Abraham for help, asking Abraham to send someone from the dead to warn his family. Abraham figuratively replied that they wouldn't believe _even if someone rose from the dead._
Perhaps the parable was given about the same time as Lazarus was raised from the dead as recounted in John 11. If so, it would have been a glaringly pointed message to the Jews who knew the resurrected Lazarus was walking among them! What an invitation for some self-examination! Alternatively, perhaps Jesus was referring to His own coming resurrection.
In Romans chapters 10 and 11 Paul wrote about Israel's failure due to unbelief and the opportunity their failure opened for the Gentiles. Here are a few passages:
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God...
But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people...
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy...
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?...
Thou wilt say then, The branches [Israel] were broken off, that I [Gentiles] might be graffed in. Well; *_because of unbelief_* they were broken off, and thou standest by faith."
