@@JosephMartin could do it a lot better by just putting out a video titled "why i like the peak design clip".. probably get better engagement and retention. It's the best camera accessory ever. Peak Design is quality, and $75 for the Capture Clip is not a lot considering I'm sometimes trusting $5000 on it. I have ALL the clips, from ALL the copy cats out there, and trust me, this is by far the best. I'd pay $200 for this thing and still be happy.
+1 vote for the capture clip...honestly, I think it one of my best purchases/favorite pieces of gear ever for my kit. I have had one for the past 3 years and have taken it on many a trip/backpacking excursion! Can't beat the ease of access for your camera and having it available to you at all times! Durable, has a locking mechanism, and has never ever failed me. I find that placement on the backpack strap will also affect comfortability... if you put it too low a longer lens will run into your ribcage...so just gotta make sure you find that goldilocks spot for your chest/torso, lens, and pack.
@@JosephMartin wow that seems so difficult, I tried vlogging and constantly changing the settings to get proper exposure under different lighting is difficult to manage
@@marcusransom5965 if you get a VND all you should have to adjust under normal circumstances is your ND filter or your ISO. Bind your ISO to one of your external dials and you'll get the hang of it over time. Definitely takes some getting used to though :)
I shot a documentary film about a french trekker who made a 3000kms trip from north east to southern west France by foot, sleeping in a tent every night and charging batteries of solar energy and shelter electricity. He used a Sony ZVE1 and he encountered rain and fog and snow and +40°C sunny days during these 109 days of trekking. Never had the camera elsewhere than on it's capture clip or in its hands, and the camera had no issues at all with the weather. he had a tiny rain cover that acted as an umbrella above the camera on rainy days and it was flawless even in REAL extreme conditions for extended period of time. (3000kms of hikking trails, 200+ kms of heigh difference total) If you didn't enjoyed it for "hardcore usage", it's mainly because you're placing your capture clip wrongly on your bag strap. You don't want to attach it on the lil riban that's sewn on it, you want to fully clamp it around the main strap, and there it wont wiggle as much. A friend of mine hiked for 10 days in Nepal with a Z9 + 100-400 on one shoulder, and a Z8 + another big ass lens on the other shoulder, and it was just fine even when he had to climb stupidly steep rocky mountains.
I just got one and am actually on my way to test it right now but I think for using it in extreme weather it would pair very nicely with something like the peak design rain shell, would certainly cut down on how exposed your camera is to the elements
I got one, tried it on a hike and the way it levered pressure on my pack straps was super uncomfortable. Congrats to all who love the clip, but don't feel bad if it doesn't work for you either.
The Ulanzi Falcam F38 backpack strap clip v2 is just better imo. The camera does not 'wiggle' as much in the clip and feels much more secure. The button and lock are much easier to use. Moving the clip between bags is much easier, as the screws on the PD clip are annoying to tighten. Peak design has the brand recognition, but it's overrated and overpriced in my opinion.
I had one and loved it when I was doing more photography. Since I've moved to mostly video I haven't used it much (because I build a full video rig and it feels ridiculous clipping it to my shoulder strap. But on the rare occurrence, I go on a photo walk... the capture clip is great.
Mate, I lost a Contax/Zeiss vintage lens after it dropped on a hard surface with a similar product... Friendly advice:use paracord to link your camera to one of the 4 holes of the bottomplate that you screw to the camera. If for some reason the camera "unscrews" itself from the bottom plate (which can happen as the camera is subject to quite a bit of motion on the shoulder strap), the bottom plate and the baseplate will still be attached to each other (and the base plate will still be attached to the backpack) so the camera/lens will avoid a costly fall.

Great input! It’s true- I’d rather pay more to know I can trust the product with my investment of gear.

Great video, whenever you are filming vlogs with your camera are you always shooting in manual clog or slog or are you using auto everything?
Thanks! I always shoot in manual clog :)

Sounds like a sick film! I’ll have to give it a shot around the whole strap.

how dare you title this video so sacrilegiously T-T

我也覺得這個標題很不應該 因為 PD 真的是好公司
I’ve been snowboarding and taking photos of other riders for the last 4-5 years with this one, and it is game changer for me. Best 80$ ever!

Does not work with pro camera bodies like the R1, R3 or Z9.

25k feet of elevation? Is NH now New Himalayas?
Lol not in one go. Over the course of the trip. Up 5k, down 4k, up 5k is hiking 10k ft of elevation even though you only summit at 6k above sea level

😂😂 there’s only so much you can do in the white mountains. It was supposed to be sunny that week!

Great practical review
