I have been a Maidiac for about 2 1/2 years and I have heard all if their songs. I am just now getting around to the Pigeon's lyrics. There is so much to their instrumentality and composition that I haven't really felt any need to understand the lyrics. But now I am opening a new chapter on my journey, and it so far has been just as fulfilling as their musicality.🕊️
Kobato's lyrics are pretty amazing, even in translation (and then she throws in her cross-lingual puns), but it totally makes sense to take several months to digest just the instrumental part of what they do before seriously getting into the lyrics.

Valid point for not understanding the lyrics. Just concentrate on the music. But every so often, you come across a good lyricist. Then it makes the song even better.
Lyrics for Bandmaid are almost hidden gems with their catalogue. Once you get into them, you will start to see what genius Miku is, who writes almost all Bandmaid lyrics after they start to write their own songs. Fun, beautifull, hopeful, emotional, sarcasm, aggressiv, intelligence and very band maid, unpredictable.
It was pure luck finding this band in 2017 . Have seen all the streaming events , and 2 concerts live . This is for the only band that has consistently kept me guessing . If interested try some the interviews , and Orhenjes documentaries . All worth the time . This will also help you understand how this group of extraordinary people managed to beat the odds and found success . Great reaction / review . Subscribed
Hi Jack, this song was co written with Michael Einziger (founder and guitar with Incubus)the Maids recently opened for INCUBUS in Tokyo and Mike Einziger joined them on stage for the world live premiere of Bestie. new album coming end of summer. also on June 12 The Maids welcome The Warning(3 sisters from Mexico) for their first visit to Japan and will join them for the first stop of the Warning mini tour of Japan. I'm expecting/hoping for a collab of sorts from 2 amazing rock bands. If you haven't checked out The Warning I highly recommend them. cheers
@@jackmeri well you could start in the beginning a cover of Enter Sandman that racked up 25 million views and got them noticed by Metallica and were invited to do a cover on a Metallica tribute album. then jump to one of the latest from the upcoming new album like “Automatic Sun” from Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival (Studio Version). they have a very deep catalogue, it's hard to go wrong. Band-Maid is hosting them in Japan right now ahead of the June 12 show. they are becoming "Besties" ;)
I admit I didn't like this song at first. I reacted -- too American, too mainstream, too soft, and in English?!? But then I listened more. It's still Band-Maid. The bass, the drums, the vocal harmonies, the guitar solo. It reminds me of Daydreaming, one of my favorites. Even when they go a bit softer they still go hard. They're the best.
In Japan, songs like this are called "するめ曲(surume songs)." Surume is just dried squid and no seasoning is used. When you put it in your mouth, it has almost no taste, but you chew it more and more, much flavor comes out. I think there may be similar foods in other countries, but I don't know them.
It's not hard to despise American boy bands, or any boy bands for that matter. It's not that I don't like boy bands......oh wait! Yes it is! The Maids will kick any boy band asses any day, all day.
Even if the English isn't perfect, there's always a level of sincerity with this band in songs like these that you're not gonna get from most others, especially not boy bands.
Bestie, in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, was co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus. MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! And Miku’s English lyrics are heartfelt. Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey, Band-Maid and Jack! FYI - The Maids just released a "Making of Bestie" on their websites where they explain the song and look of their awesome MV. AND... COUNTDOWN TO THE WARNING 2-MAN CONCERT!!
For 10 years going from venue to venue and putting in thousands of show and promoting themselves this song move me so much that I made a photo album video please check it out has some great and fun photos of *BAND-MAID*

This song was co-written with one of the members of Incubus and you can really see the Incubus influence in this song. I do get what you say about America boy bands. As English is not my native language, I have had the ability to ignore stupid or bad lyrics in English and focus on the music when needed. If the lyrics are good, I could choose to listening to it as a whole or just the good parts of it.
I also welcomed you to the world of BAND-MAID & the Maidiacs. Now if you want you can welcome me back by inviting my over from England & cooking up a meat feast on the grill whilst we have some cold beers & listen to some B-M....That's fair isn't it?😧

You are correct. Not every reaction has to include the words- Metal or shredding.
