I’m having my maple floor refinished and have decided to forgo stain as they all seem blotchy. Would the Nordic sealer work well on a maple floor in lieu of stain?
Great question! Daniel talks to this point at 7:34. Buffing before the final coat can remove finish, leaving the wood with little protection. We recommend buffing as little as possible to avoid taking off too much finish.
hey thanks verry much for your info . can i use an oil base sealer before i use your water base poly ? i have white oak floors and after watching your instrutonal videos im wondering would that be safer for a DIY er
I've put oil down AFTER a waterbased coat, and it was completely fine. Oil before water, I wouldn't recommend that, guessing the oil has to be down 1 or 2 months before water
Hi there! That's a great question, our other video with Bona goes into what all of their sealers are designed for, you can watch that here: th-cam.com/video/tRjVyg09300/w-d-xo.html Not all sealers create a yellow color, and many are designed to help achieve certain colors. Some are designed to create a white look and others are designed to enhance the stain color you put down.

Could I use a white buffer pad to add additional smoothness after putting down the second coat of finish or should I leave it as is?

Do sealers come in different colors instead of making it a yellowish color?
