probably the best bit of info i have got from videos, it was helpful that you actually showed the difference in the results so we can see what they do, as apposed to people just saying do this setting and that setting
Thank you so much for the great tutorials! Even if I don‘t understand some of the words you say (cause I‘m german), I see what you‘re doing and how important it is, to understand the technics to get the best results. I appreciate, what you are doing.
Thank you for the amazing and helpful videos. I appreciate all your efforts and time that you put into producing them. Your videos actually confirmed to buy a Thunderlaser!
Robert, I cannot thank you enough for your very generous and extremely imnformative tutorial. The way you explain things is enlightening and refreshing. I am brand new to Lightburn and lasers. My laser won't be here for another ten weeks, but I am trying to familiarise myself with lightburn in the meantime, and this tutorial was exceptionally good. thank you so much. I have just replicated what you have done with a photo of my dog :-) cant wait to get the laser noew and see how it turns out! I dont know how to add an image, but if I could , I would happily show you and see what you think.
I appreciate your comments, Its input like this is why I do these videos. That is great news that you where able to replicate what you saw on the video. That makes me feel good. Laser engraving animals like dogs are one of my favorite things I do with my laser. Congrats on you laser purchase, they are so much fun! Thanks for watching and have a great day!
brilliant video, did not know you could do that within Lightburn, and I don't have a decent photo program. you made that so simple thank you from a newbie( laser arrived 1 month ago) from NZ...cheers and stay safe.
Finally I found something useful on TH-cam 😀🎉🎉 can you create a few more taking example of a toddler. I am trying to engrave my kid but image turns out too light with no features... Puppy is diff as body has color
Again, a excellent and very informative video. What you show in minutes ,I have been trying to achieve using GIMP and Inkscape ( with no results) to achieve the same results.
Great video! I learned a lot. I never realized that the shape properties tab dealt with images, I always thought it only pertained to geometric shapes. There is one thing that no matter how many videos I watch I don't understand and that is Gamma. It seems Gamma corrects an image to match what my eye would see if looking at the original, but when I slide it back and forth, I don't see any change. If you are looking for an idea for a video I would suggest a detailed discussion of Gamma, image sensors, monitor correction, etc. In any case thanks for the great video.
Hi Thanks for a great video. I'm really now to laser engraving. I use ORTUR OLM2 PRO S2 to engrave / cut, and using LightBurn as software. I would like to ask you, did you used BMP or PNG files? And about the speed. 200 is really slow. It's taking so long to engrave. And at the end, the results are too bright. What should I do? Again, thanks. Be blessed.
Robert, I have watched you video and others but still can't get my head around this engraving a photo on slate or tile, I can do it all but my settings for the photos all produce poor engravings, any chance you can have a look at the photo for me and give me some pointer. I am 70 computer literate, only been engraving since December, but with this I am dumb lol.
When engraving a picture on slate since it’s a black background and you want to engrave a white picture you need to invert your image before it’s brought into lightburn. Without doing this it won’t work. Hoe this helps! Thanks for watching
Hi and thanks for watching, there are lots of patterns out there for honeycomb pins. I have found you will have to tweak any pattern to fit your honeycomb bed. Give etsy a try that way it will only cost you a buck or two.
Hi Robert! I've learned so much from you. Is it possible to send you my lightburn file and my finished photo for you to take a look at the settings and give me your opinion. I'm giving a gift for Christmas and I want to be sure I get it right. I am using the lasted Atomstack Pro laser.
I've tried importing three different high resolution photos into lightburn, and none of them even look close to the image of the pup on the left (adjusted) in your video. Do you have a video specifically dealing with importing pictures, and that process specifically, to get the kind of clarity of the image on the left?
when you import the image it will look more like the one on the Right. the untouched one. you apply the modifications in the shape properties tab to get the looks of the adjusted one.
Just to the left of the black 00 layer you will see a some vertical dots. Hold your mouse over that and you should be able to drag your layer palette where you want it. Very Handy
Robert, again you nailed the video. I have been struggling and almost gave on on photos until watching this! You just opened up a whole new business line for me, thank you sir! Have you tried the Thunder HR lens yet? Do you know the appropriate focal length for it?
HeyJ, thank you for the input on the video, I have the Hd lens but have not had time to give it a go. I believe the focus distance for that lens is 3.2mm or about the thickness of a quarter. Good luck on your pictures!
If you can reply I’ll pay for you to show me or some classes on doing editing. I just got a glowforge and I wanna do some photos but don’t know how smh
A couple of hints to get you started. good quality pictures that have a high resolution is critical for good laser pictures. Ones that are from a text message or something like that will never give you great results. I would recommend going to the free photo web sites and garbing some great photos that have a white background. The white background wont laser. This is a great place to start! Thanks for watching my videos.
I’m not sure I understand, this video shows you exactly what setting I changed in the shape properties tab to get the result shown in the video. Not sure how I can illustrate it any different??? Any suggestions?
probably the best bit of info i have got from videos, it was helpful that you actually showed the difference in the results so we can see what they do, as apposed to people just saying do this setting and that setting
Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!
This channel is tragically under watched! Keep up the great work!

Great to hear!
Thank you so much for the great tutorials!

I appreciate, what you are doing.
You're welcome 😊
Very helpful. Just starting my photo engraving path and I really don't want to use imag-r. thanks for helping to decode these settings

Thank you for watching. The pictures where jpeg format and this is 200mm/ second not minute
Would these settings make a huge difference on a 10W laser compared to yours??
I’m not sure on a diode laser. sorry!
Thank you for another great video
Thanks for watching!

Hi Debbie, thank you for your comments.
How did it auto turn to black and white? Any image i pull into lightburn if its colour stays colour?
It always pulls in a black and white, I have not heard of a color image being imported. I would contact Lightburn
Thanks!
Robert, thank you very much for the contribution. I really appreciate it!
Thanks a lot
Great video
Thanks for the visit

I imported our image, duplicated and only see one layer "Image" in the Layers panel? Min Power is grayed out. Shows Dither Sample bottom of box.
Once duplicated you have to change the color of one of the pics by selecting a different layer color.
How did you get the layers tab on the side?
Just to the left of the black 00 layer you will see a some vertical dots. Hold your mouse over that and you should be able to drag your layer palette where you want it. Very Handy

I don't have the shape properties on my version 0.9.2
Go to window and select shape properties. Then I will show up Ofer in your top or bottom pane
Perfect ! Congrates !!!
Hand up for face at start

Wow how do you do this video with out showing how to do it .. omg 😲

6 mins into a 13 min video before you finally say "let's get started"
yep, that how I roll, lol
Normally enjoy your videos, but 6 minutes before you said anything helpful or valuable at all... not so great...
Thank you for your comment, I’m hoping others will find the preliminary information useful.
Thanks!
thank you very much for the donation, I really appreciate it!
