I love Keane. The hits is coming on vinyl on July 1, must grab that. I’ve everything on CD and vinyl. The original Iron Sea vinyl is a double. There’s an error on the sleeve regarding LP 1 track listing. All mine are first pressings. Album 1 and 2 plus Cause & Effect are my favorites.
You don’t have Night Train? It’s a CD mini album but the 2020 vinyl reissue has 2 bonus tracks and it’s on an orange lucozade colour. Be worth having that.

James I'm really glad you've become such a Keane fan, one of my very favorites of the past 10 years or more. Tom's voice is one of the best in the business. There is a Keane EP you are missing I can show you, called "Night Train" if you're interested, but it's all original material so I'd say somewhat essential for completest like yourself. I think it's important to note a couple things. They did add a 4th member to Keane on Strangeland (Jesse Quin), so that expanded their sound considerably for their (hopefully not) last album. I personally feel there was extensive growth between "Hopes and Fears" and "Under the Iron Sea", but they may never top their debut album, one of the best of all time as you said.
In addition to all the Tom Chaplin information you gave I also think it's important to recognize Tim Rice-Oxley since he is the principle songwriter of the music, while Tom did the lyrics. He's also worked with a large group of other artists writing songs, and is a member of the band Mt. Desolation. Also quite good, and they released a 2nd album this year "When the Night Calls" you may like, but not as Keane sounding as Tom's solo album(s).
One can only hope they will come back together and so something again as Keane. Every album they released as been a U.K. #1, and there's a very short list of artists that can claim that recognition. Sadly they never really caught on in the US as much, but their debut album did get some attention here. I was fortunate enough to see them live on the Strangeland tour and if it was to be their final at least I can say I was there.
Ah I could ramble on for ages about this band. I think I have just about everything they ever put their name on, singles, vinyl, CD's, and even some very rare collectable items. As I said, I'm a big fan haha. I def. enjoyed the video James, and you did Keane proud. I only point out the misses for those that like high level details but you did well. The Other James

You should definitely get the deluxe version of The best of Keane which was released in 2013 just for the bonus disc. That bonus disc includes so many great songs which were released as B-sides in a lot of their singles , and also a completely new song called " Russian farmer's song " which is fantastic. That disc could easily be released as a album because there are a tons of amazing songs on it , namely " snow under " , " fly to me " , " thin air " , something in me was dying " , " let it slide" ,.....

Don´t you have ´´Night Train´´? It´s a 8-track Ep, quite good I think. If I´m correct it is not edited on vinyl, but you can buy it on cd very cheap (only 2 euros second-half by amazon -UK company worldofbooks-es). Greetings from Canary Islands

Nice James, indeed an incredible good band!
I will also check out Tom Chaplins second solo cd, I only have his first.
I think you know also their greatest hits cd? The Deluxe Edition had some really very nice bonus tracks!
For me, their debut is also the best album, I think, although I also really like Iron Sea, because it has more darkness in it so to speak. Strangeland also is a very soothing album, with beautiful melodies and harmonies, although I have to say I was somewhat bothered by the very predictable couplet-chorus-couplet-chorus structure in évery song on there...but, that said, still a great moody album. And I think the song Strangeland should have been on the original album; it was one of their best new songs (and the album title fgs ! :-)
    Greetings from the Netherlands, Simon
