The FBI block used in my videos was from Clear Ballistics gel. See more about it here:
clearballistics.com
The invention of the G2R's projectile R.I.P.™ is related to the ability to control the way the projectile reacts as it passes through different mediums by control of the mfg process, geometry and the rate of failure at different zones along its axial length. More particularly but not limited to the ability to take the projectile and predictably have it stay solid in one medium but yet have the exact same projectile predictably react as a fragmenting bullet through a different medium without alteration of the projectile. The geometry at the tip of the projectile has much to do with the way the projectile travels through tissue. It has been long known in the medical industry that a trocar point penetrates the dermis layer more efficiently. Patents for trocars appeared early in the 19th century, although their use dated back possibly thousands of years. It is the use of this geometry at the front end of the projectile that does specific work at the point of entry from one system to the next. Dependent on the medium the projectiles geometry is designed to react differently.
Imagine a Hole saw. The hole saw action that occurs at points of entry into different mediums reduce initial drag which allow the hollow cavity in the center of the projectile to rapidly pack. In the case of plywood the hole saw action cleanly cuts and packs the projectile with a slug that makes it solid thus allowing it to conserve more of its energy. This performance could prove to be very effective for law enforcement that may be in a situation where the target is behind such an obstacle whereas more energy will be carried into the intended target and not lost in the obstacle.
In a fluid the projectile fragments. Due to the trocar geometry of each petal the resulting diameter of the fragmentation pattern is maximized. The trocar tips allow the fragments to swim through tissue / gel with less resistance thus conserving energy. The cross sectional thicknesses and geometries also create a full 180 degree flip halfway along each of the 8 petals path. The resulting shock wave and wound path is maximized. The result is devastating.

Thank you for not dragging this out into a 10 minute video. It’s short and sweet 10/10
"So you're saying you used bullets called 'R.I.P.' in self-defense?"
I never understood this warning, should we NOT want to kill an attacker? Isn't that the point of a self defense firearm?
@ColdBoi Isn't a popular reasoning in court "If killing them wasn't the goal, then why did you need to shoot them"
@@masonadams8410 To save my life and stop the attack?
@I Must Bust I’m just gonna stick to active self protections advice and make sure to put down the threat
@I Must Bust you never fire a gun at someone without the intent to kill, that’s gun safety 101
I would like to see this done with the gel over a simulated skeletal structure to see what results you get when not only 3 layers of denim is applied but what happens when bones are there as well
Ziegen Arty th-cam.com/video/UfWXfnOPivg/w-d-xo.html
U get all shook up
Three layers of denim ??? 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, 3 layers of denim?
Who the fuck wears 3 layers of denim?
That’s crazy how almost all the energy gets released in such a small zone.
... and how the gel holds onto that energy
Yup prefect round to kneecap people with. Just shred their knee and let them suffer their entire life.
David Thompson bro?

That was the coolest Ballistics Gel footage I have ever seen!
Those cavitation implosions are fascinating to watch!
Will you please do this again with denim and be sure to let us know how far in the pedals stoped and how deep the main bullet traveled into the gel. Thanks for all the awesome videos! Oh and I would like to see this channel have more facts like the ones I asked for, where ur other is just freakin awesome videos.
I'd like to see what the round does out of a carbine length barrel
I was thinking the same thing in my Marlin 1894 357 Carbine. I bet that would make a great Lead-free hunting round.
I've made airgun pellets that act exactly like this, but obviously on much smaller scale lol. I was trying for controlled expansion, which does happen at lower velocities but at higher velocities the result is almost exactly like this
Excellent video 👍🏽👍🏽
A new subscriber from the Netherlands 🤘
BEST test video on this round yet! I've watched them all, and what EVERYONE of them but you has missed is the actual temporary wound cavitation AS IT HAPPENS! They all just look at the slim lines that lead to the petals, and either (wrongly) scoff at such "little" damage, or merely describe the circumference of the overall spread pattern.
What they all miss is the fact that ballistics gel IS NOT a 1 to 1 comparison of the resultant trauma in the closed system of s human body.
The tendency of the chemistry and physics of the gel is to always seem to return to its natural resting state of essentially binding to itself, and return to ackndition of semi solidity.
Your incredible high speed footage shows the MASSIVE devastation that would- depending on distance and many other variables, cause anything from major internal bleeding due to disruption&, massive kinetic shock/ displacement of internal organs, to total obliteration from cutting force or bursting. Likely all fatal results,
Are u talking about the hollow point rounds?
I was speaking about your overall methodology in general being much more sound, therefore yielding significantly more valuable resultant data. Again, excellent work.
Perfect explanation
Cavitation kills
@@arealOg8o6 No it doesn't.
Good to know I just purchased some shit that will not only stop an attacker, but make him feel immense pain as well. Thanks RIP rounds, very cool!
Nice spread. Id like to see it in comparison with other rounds like hollows an interceptors
*dramatic strings and tactical drums* always fun :)
Super cool!
make more videos shooting ballistic gel, varying calibers and types of ammunition!
Looks like tough stuff!
San Fransisco DA: “RIP ammunition? So you wanted to murder my client’s innocent sweet son that was just hitting extra hard on your back door so he could ask for directions at midnight because he was just lost!”
Ouch. That definitely looks painfull. I've had these loaded in my mags for a couple years now. Thankfully I haven't had to use them. They definitely look deadly!
I feel bad for whoever gets hit up by these
nasty stuff, gotta get some
Great expansion on impact and with optimum penetration?? Yea guna get a bunch of this stuff!
what does a bayonet to do a bullets trajectory in slow mo
Sweet!
So satisfying
Nice bro
Very cool, what camera are you using for the high speed footage?
Would like to know what length of barrel was used for this test
These rounds look cool and they're intimidating but they're not worth $144.00 a box to me. That's ridiculous. When the novelty decreases and they create a .40 then I'll give a few a try. I need one to display in my mancave anyway. :)
CastleDoctrine87 they’re worth it when someone is breaking into your home
@@andrew881000 You can get the same effect from regular hollow points, and the same effectiveness from FMJs
Im 7 years in the future they are about 40 bucks
@@-Homelander. And Liberty Civil Defense, which can do this AND blow through IIIA armor is 30 bucks

if you think the g2 is good try using icc ammo duty ammo and there jot 223 and 308
I have 20 rounds of this stuff still. And I still carry 13 rounds of it everyday in me EDC. I cannot bring myself to shoot it at the range despite the age, it was too expensive and you cant find it right now.
Bought me my EDC FN 509 tactical and picked up a box for carry . 40$ for 20 rounds
For a handgun to be effective, it has to have expanding properties that release energy. Most of the deaths caused by handgun bullets are slow and long in coming, and yo want to STOP the bad guy as quickly as you can in a police or self defence situation.
haha the music in this
Bet that would hurt like hell for a little bit
100% sure self-defense = 100% sure kill after shot
Devin, look at this. Wow

que magnifica ronda es lo ideal para defensa detendria cualquier ataque de un disparo
that is some major cavatation
Pablo used these too
whats the frame rate
I like this ammunition save for one small problem: they need to lower the powder count. You have excellent fragmentation which leads to immense internal damage... But you still have the core of the bullet which makes full penetration and keeps traveling. That is a bad thing. I'm not interested in killing the people standing behind the attacker, just the target in front of me.
Ya know the rules of Firearm safety, Make sure you know you’re target and what is beyond it
@Dan that jell is thicker than ur attacker
@Dan jell lol the jell is thicker than ur attacker skin and bones ! That jail is made to absorb energy our body and bones isn’t that rip gone spread the us and keep going ! That’s a deadly bullet the problem is they jam a lot !
Fragmentation in handgun rounds is not ideal.
Fragmentation in any round is ideal. If Fragmentation wasn't ideal then why the hell do hollow points exist?!
@@jlam3927
shutup and take my money lol. something to have for back up. Not much for primarily ammo but definitely worth to have around.
Is it same to assume that it’s game over after a center of mass shot
Do you have in mind to test lead cast hollow point bullets?
LEE, lyman and MP-moulds made some fine moulds with large holes.
It's the complete oposite compared with RIP AMMO, but could work fine!
Waiting for the answer!
nasty nasty round, how on earth would you treat someone with a bullet wound like that..
I agree 100% Horrible round.
Exploratory surgery haha
You don't.
Well, Rest in Peace... 😴😇
Bad guy done.
You could poke somebodys eye out with that thing
I mean, I get it....I do. It looks cool, it comes apart, the whole bit. But I want something to expand massively and maintain the weight. I'm sticking with my Federal HSTs.
same here
firedude3337 me too this ammo is garbage compared to federal hst
Cletus The Stud To stop threats? What else???
+signs Threats that you'll likely never face in your entire life unless you purposely go seek them out.
I mean, America's dangerous, but not so dangerous that you need to be armed with the most deadly shit out there to protect yourself against an unlikely home intruder. (which probably won't even have body armor)
Quite frankly, you're more likely to get into a car accident. This shit is just overcompensating; the human body is weak.. squishy, and mostly made up of water. So long as you know where to poke a hole, and good enough to put it there when you want to, regular rounds are all you'll ever realistically need.
Dragon's breath is fun though.
@@SeraphimxSins it's not that they need them it's in case they need there's a difference
RIP who ever gets shot by it
I question if this stuff is ethical to use. If they don't go down in one shot keep shooting. I think this ammo might be excssesive.
Meh exotic ammo. Next weeks flechette rounds
Please, what is the camera name (marque)?
yeah i wouldn't want to get shot with that
Is it worth the money? Ammo need secondary ignition for when the meet target or a detonation upon impact.
Secondary ignition?? What
- Put some pork ribs between layers of denim and ballistics gel to simulate hit in a chest, anyone?
do like the clear gel
The deadliest looking flower I've ever seen
That makes sense now that you mention it, but I still think these bullets and the idea behind them are cool.
Can you do a .50 cal vs. ballistics gel video in slowmo I can't find any in the youtubez.
that's because ballistics gel will be obliterated lol it would fly into a million pieces
I have about 700 rounds of this ammo. I like it!
Any jamming problems? Thinking of picking up 9mm
@@tylersabol7700 We haven't had any issues. We used different firearms.
I invented it when I was 6 for my dad, these are his personal rounds
Make a .270 or 308 RIP round I'd preorder 500 each lol
please make a video comparing the lehigh defense controlled fracturing and maximum expansion ammo chambered in 9mm to the RIP 9mm ammo. I have a feeling the lehigh defense will surprise you along with the viewers. The lehigh defense is also cheaper by about $10 per box
Aim for the abdomen, it's a horrible way to die, they'll either get organ failure or die from the blood loss
Have yet to see side by side test to ball or modern hollow points. I'll believe this stuff is any better when I see it side by side high pressure ammo with comparable speeds.
JHP all day, every day. That's a pretty lame expansion and temporary cavity. The media makes it seem like the thing will blow a man in two.
I'd be more curious as to how it functions through thick clothing and sheetrock.
You think thick clothing will slow this round down enough that it wont perform as it should? A sheetrock test is needed for you to be enticed a bit more? Im on board with it all the way man. lol With a disburse in this fashion combined with multiple rounds fired because 9 out 10 times in a self defense situation you'll be shooting more than once... I'd rather have these in my corner
kayo Beetz
Good luck with that. After your little RIP bits fragment your left with about a unexpanded .380 for the vitals.. Gimmick ammo.
THAT IS EXCELENT EXPANTION
No it's really not and the round loses so much mass so fast the wound will not be nearly half as bad and a standard full metal jacket.
omg the pain
speakin facts you can’t feel pain when you’re dead
Just imagine a fifty BMG RIP round
considering how bad these suck, sounds like a waste of .50bmg
i want the gel, give me the gel
I don't think that test is all that accurate considering he fired the second bullet in an area where the structural integrity was already compromised. I would like to see the test where they are there ether different sides of the glass or 2 totally separate pieces of glass
These are clearly for leg meta
This thing can 1 shot anybody in the head or mid chest shot
Because of the shrapnel
Lehigh defense ammo kicks g2 butt
Plus it's only $20-30 a box depending on the caliber
Idriss was the only guy in the UK with access to them
IWBA 4 layers of denim, and auto glass please. Until solid performance through that, it's just extreme shock ammo all over again.
hey what r Hollow point bullets? those are what John Lennons killer used....the police guy said that the bullets were still in the gun, I know nothing about bullets but he shot 5 times...thanks
I'd say a rather useless test results considering center of mass has bones all over. Although still deadly as hell it is an important factor IMO
It looks painful.
Literally liked and commented for the short and to the point video. Other youtubers take note...you get your 30 seconds watch time and your viewers get the info they need without having to listen to you talk for 10 min of filler info
Seems like a CQ ammo only
Measurements on entry point, length and width ofbullet path would.make this video informative and not just.cool
Would a RIP round blow someone's head completly off?
FISH ON !
I bet that would be about the most devastating self-defense handgun ammo out there against the human body.
That would be messy...
That isn't very much penetration. On a fat guy wearing 1 or 2 layers of denim, that wouldn't even reach the organs.
fromkentucky Yeah, I would have to agree. Since I posted those comments, I have seen many other tests with the ammo and have to come to see it as overpriced junk. ShootingtheBull did a test where he got about the same results with a few .22 rounds.
+fromkentucky. Lol well I doubt they would be shooting him in his fat gut either. A round to the chest would do just fine. Have to remember with this round even though the jacket comes apart like that it still has a slug to it. Those frag peices are meant to open someone up and also punch the slug through so say it don't hit much it still going to cause a lot of internal issues.
Heath Fiedler If it doesn't have that effect on ballistic gel, then I don't see it punching through a breastplate very effectively either.
En Argentina estan pruividas. Ni siquiera estan permitidas la punta hueca para defenza, ni en 22 largo.
I almost got shot with one of these it went right in front of my stomach area
Song at 0:23 plz
Most people want the gel so they can slap it
What does R.I.P. mean in R.I.P. ammo? Rest in Peace or what?
I wont my part...I already type on facebook.
I want some, but my revolver is .38 special and it appears they don't make it in that caliber.
Fragmenting ammo is nothing new. The downside of this ammo is that it has the middle object that passes all the way through. At least if it all fragmented you could use it on an airplane.
Imagine the surgery required to remove those pedals. Gonna be messy. RIP
I don't believe the hollow points expanded, so it's really the bullet's speed and release of energy within the object that causes this effect. Wouldn't a 9mm with FMJ duplicate what we see? Or a 9mm FMJ that's +P?
It's a bleed out round, not a trauma round. There are two ways to disable an attacker. Either blunt trauma that causes the organs to lapse into dysfunction (try it by hitting yourself on the hand with a hammer) or causing massive blood loss. This one is designed to do the latter rather than the former. While it's a unique design that has it's place, I can think of six and half feet and two hundred fifty pounds of reasons why I probably would opt for a more traditional round. Now, if I were attacked by pygmies, this might be a better choice, but I doubt it.
