The feeling I had when i bought my MG4 51 was exactly the same when I got my first induction cooktop to replace my aging gas stove. No more combustion, just plug and play. It's so easy to use, requires little maintenance and it simply serves its purpose. The car is now truly an appliance. I do like that its quick off the mark, has excellent rwd steering, the comfortable ride but more importantly instead of paying $28 for my weekly petrol I now only spend $5 for electricity 😊
Wife and I test drove one recently, loved everything about it and will likely buy one as our next car. Basic, functional, really nice to drive...and cheap. Exactly what we've all been waiting for.

Awesome car. Own one, 2023 model, new taken in late 2024, love it!
Was $30,990 in October 2024 and made headlines as the cheapest an EV has ever been in Australia, now that was an even better deal. They didn’t need to go that far $32,990 already beats a Corolla Hybrid or Mazda 3 to price parity.
Great video as always 🙌 Where I’m from, we only have this 51kwh and the 204ps 64kwh. The 64kwh version is slightly more expensive than the Seal U PHEV FWD (223ps), I’d love to hear your inputs on which one you think is better 😄 ? (MG4 XPower is not available and the BYD Seal entry level is 25k$ more than the entry MG4)
If you're serious, low end factory workers get around CNY 11,000 yuan per month and that's growing fast. It's about AUD $2500 per month - far more than factory workers in Thailand who have been assembling cars for the Australian market for ages. China's standard of living is remarkably good these days, especially when you view it in purchasing power parity terms.
MG4 isn't worth the so-called RWD family car as the ironic electric hatchback since Falcon and Commodore the ironic cheap RWD family cars were history in favor of cheap FWD hatchbacks, FWD crossovers and sport utility vehicles.
I don't think I'll ever understand why anyone would buy a car with a laptop screen glued to the dashboard, and very little in the way of ergonomic switches to allow you operate vehicle without crashing. It's like playing with your phone and driving at the same time. Not to mention they all look like they've been endorsed by the ugly stick.
I'm fine with the mini laptop glued on the dash. My MG4 doesn't need a needle speedo, tachometer, temp gauge and fuel level. For me I only need the digital speed, SOC, and distance on a laptop screen. 😊 As for the infotainment screen, it has heaps of physical buttons below it. Plus you have two mini joysticks on the steering wheel to control your favourites.

The handling and ride quality is great...really great.

Anyone know the hourly pay rate for MG Motor factory workers?
More than Holden and ford factory workers 🤷🤷
