3 words describe Thing 1; jealous, insecure, and threatened. Thing 1 was probably aware that she wasn’t as pretty and popular as you and thing 2. So when saweetie came into the picture and she’s pretty with a nice body and good personality; thing 1 realized she was the odd one out. And so she started targeting her, trying to embarrass her and make her seem undesirable. This happens so often, the one who’s doing the bullying is often the weakest link and they’re targeting the person who they’re the most threatened by. But I’m glad you were there to stand up for her, thing 1 and 2 were so wack for doing her like that.

Nadia I went through that with my cousins and her friends growing up. I had acne and pigeon toe but I was still pretty, long thick hair nicely shaped, and I was always on the honor roll my entire childhood my mother kept me looking very nice and she raised me to have respect for myself and others. But my cousin? She had hair to her ear, she wasn't a delight to look at the boys called her "ugly ". She always failed in school held back a few times but she also had a nice shape. Her friend on the other hand had a somewhat ok shape but she looked a little weird. She also had acne but she was a bully. She loved to pick on me. For three years straight I went through hell trying to be friends with her and trying to maintain a relationship with my cousin.

Right my mom wanted to meet the parents, addresses, plate numbers..etc. Now these days with teens missing I seen why she was like that but she was too strict. I had to ask a month before and 90% of the time the answer was hell no. 😂

How insecure and hurt Thing 1 must have been to do all that. I believe the reason she never invested in her looks because she might’ve been afraid that she still wouldn’t be pretty even if she did so she never tried. Hurt people hurt people
This story made me so sad I’m so glad you were there. I recently cut off a friend who harbored really weird energy said little back handed comments to me and said weird stuff like she had a crush on my man so I cut that weird energy. Not everyone is your friend even when you have the most purest of intentions, be safe out there.

Listen, ppl like Thing 1 are demonic. Lots of times it’s not even the physical that they’re jealous of; it’s the other person’s spirit/energy. A lot of ppl - by nature or nurture, have troubled, tortured, miserable spirits. So when they experience somebody opposite of them, they want to become them or ruin them.

I was the friend who didn't really dress up, do my hair , and was shy in my friend group. Guys that I had crushes on always dated my friends, even though it was discouraging I would NEVER... NEVER do what thing one did to Sweetie. I don't see how anyone could be that vile to anyone, friend or not.

You are the type of friend I neeeed in my life girl! You’re so genuine and you know how to think for yourself. My “friends” of 10+ years started treating me funny after I was paralyzed (I can walk short distances with a cane now). Maybe I’ll send in some stories if you still do subscriber stories!
It’s a shame how people are but I’ve learned so much about humans and realized that half the things people do they don’t know any better or they are just that… human. With flaws, insecurities and some are even battling themselves. So I don’t take much to heart but I also refuse to settle for anything like I used to. Friends, relationships, family. It don’t matter. Just gotta pray for folks and keep it movin. 🤷🏽♀️ blessings to you and your journey.
I think they should start doing public awareness videos with certain situations like this to notify men and women of how grimy friends can be because I think we give it a pass because we think we can trust these people and sometimes you can’t.

I remember walking around with friends, going out etc and dudes used to talk to them and approach them. No one approached me at all and would hardly acknowledge my presence. I used to always feel some type of way because they were smaller than me. They would just say it was the way I dressed. I didn’t wear really tight clothes etc but I felt like I looked nice. At any rate I got over it, people still don’t approach me but I have an amazing boyfriend that I plan to marry one day.

Girl that was me but they told me straight up it was because I was dark skinned. I have the personality, the jokes, the intelligence, the vibe but I’m “burnt”. Because of that I had light-skin girls making me their default “ugly” best friend & wingwoman.
I finally cut ties with a “best friend” that used to always make colorist comments towards me beyond other stuff.
