    I have no maths skills are really bad at maths, but I was told by my parents how to save how to spend money and how much food and bills cost, A lot of my friends got into a lot of difficulty with credit cards, are use my credit card once a month and pay off straight away, it’s a shame schools don’t do this with all the students, so children can understand about credit cards and money, A lot of adults don’t have skills that they can take with them through their life, are used to watch your program in the 90s and I’ve got a lot of good ideas of finances, i’d love to see it again

    I'm blessed that my mom taught me this and I didn't have to learn it all the hard way like Alvin did.

    I remember watching this whole series at the time and the kids played up with pretty much every teacher except Mr. Hall, because Alvin knew how to relate to them. David Starkey was an absolute car crash because he had no idea how to connect with them. He was an old-school disciplinarian all the way and it was a disaster.

    This series opens up the debate about the damage done to the education system by the constant meddling and social experimentation that occurs. At present the uk system is run as an 'inclusive' system, with equal access and rights to an education.... a lovely system in theory, but one which does NOT work .
    For Example BSD students are moved to lower groups due to behaviour issues, which leads to a lowered expectation of their own personal goals.

    With twenty pounds, you have to shop smarter, perhaps a mix of branded like Heinz and Robinsons as well as supermarkets own like Sainsbury's and Tesco (usually cheaper). Don't forget milk, bread, tea, etc and of course special offers lasting between a week up to six weeks. BOGOF and 2 for £1.00 are examples of it.

      Putting money away is my favourite aspect of finances. Of course, you can do it in branch, via deposit envelopes (just like posting a letter into a post box) and lately, transferring between accounts via a cash machine, usually takes seconds. Cheques remember take longer say three to five working days where as cash, it is usually on the same day. If it is on a Saturday or Bank Holiday, then it is the following working day which would normally be Monday (Tuesday if it is a Bank Holiday Monday).

    This is quite good, practical maths works so much better than overloading uninterested and underachieving kids with mind-boggling numbers and equations.

    When i first start being on my own, I get around 600 (my currency), depending on sales. Rented a small room for 200, and left me with 400 like him. The problem is, our currency is so shit, 20 basically give you close to nothing. a carton of 10 eggs alone is already 6. loaf of bread is around 3. a whole chicken is around 10. That's all you can get for our 20.

    Notice the mistakes of others;
    Chips, soda, seltzer, chocolate milk, juice, bottled water, lemonade, iced tea, energy drinks, and a $7 2oz prepped salad paid for on food stamps while the other $200 was paid in cash.

    If 400 (disposable income) is divided by 4 (weeks in a month) = 100, not 125 as he stated.

    Is this a typical high school class or some type of special needs class? By special needs I mean poor kids, recovering addicts or like a discipline school type thing, not mental or physically needy.

    • @sonofeast11
      @sonofeast11 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +dignyochick Basically poor people, who are ignorant to education and have behaviour issues so either never went or always misbehaved and got removed from the lesson and never learnt anything.
