Crochet slippers pattern / tutorial for beginners /

- Hi everybody. In this tutorial I am going to show you how to crochet slippers. It is easy tutorial even for beginners.
I will show you in this video how to crochet women´s size.
You´ll need two balls of special yarn called Cord yarn from YarnArt brand.

I made these as guest slippers out of old tshirts turned into yarn. (no shoes in my house) Everyone loves them and I can chuck them in the wash after use. Thank you for the video!

Did you have to double the tshirt yarn or is it thick enough by itself?

@@Dressmealltheway When cut the Tshirts into straps, you decide how wide the stripes are. Cut them around 3cm wide then stretch them before rolling them into a ball for storing. They would be similar to the yarn in the video. You can check videos on TH-cam on how to make crochet yarn from used Tshirts.

made slippers for my father, used 20 crochets at the beginning instead of 15 and got 43-44 eu size.

(I am a very begginer, so, please, be careful with my advice 🙈)
I added extra ones only at the very beginning to make the insole longer. then I went through the lesson, just tying not 4 doubles to the end, for example, but 8 (I don't remember the exact number now).
that is, if in the lesson there are 4 ordinary, 4 single, 4 double to the end, then I would also have 4 ordinary, 4 single and to the end as many as there are left, so many double.
so if i want to make a 46 euro how many crochet would i need?

I made a pair for my husband for Christmas.
He has a size 44 but I measured his feet when he was sleeping to make it easier 😁
His feet 28 cm long and about 10 cm wide.
I used 17 st + 2 and added a row of d cr to make it wider. Otherwise I pretty much followed the instructions with some alterations. (Trial and error method) with the part where you do scr hdcr and dcr.
The yarn that I used was 100g for 46 m and a size 7 crochet needle.
The top was no problem! Love them! ❤

Thank you for your part making the slipper I want to make my cousin a pair it would be nice for him wit his health condition but I am getting a little stuck on some of the stitches after the sch ,then the hdsc then the dsc any pointers I would appreciate it he were size 12

Man my slippers came out awesome and cozy. I made them for my mom because she loves it when I crochet her things. :) easy to follow and worked out even though I combined 2 skeins of blanket yarn and used a 10 mm hook. Looks great thank you so much!

Did you have any issue with the slipper holding it's shape? I want to use a yarn that's the same weight, but I'm worried it won't look as structured as hers. Any thoughts? I'm not a total beginner, but obviously still learning! Thanks!
@@TerraRiley It did turn out to be just less than half an inch shorter than my mom's heel, but I just added slip stitches to the back and it turned out great! For reference my moms a size 8

@@brittany8264 It was as simple as increasing my hook size. Test and use the hook size that best fits you.
Sorta like doing a sample stitch gauge for a project.

You can sandwich cardboard or foam sole inserts in between the two soles if you want a little extra cushion.

I find it VERY difficult to follow patterns. You explanation is EXCELLENT. Please Is it possible to make a video on how to make the slippers longer /wider? I'm thinking if I used something the same weight but not as stiff like the yarn you're using, it might not hold it's shape or be as strong. What do you think?

You can add two or three chains and add more stitches in whole pattern but I can´t tell you exact number of stitches when I did not try it..

But then I saw it’s for a size 38/40, I’m a 36, would you suggest me to use a crochet smaller ? (If so which size ?5?) or should I do less stitches ?

Love these slippers! Thank you for your video!:) finished my first pair last night. But I couldn't find that cord yarn anywhere in North America:( 2 days of searching online. Substituted with another extra bulky yarn and they are just fine:) I'm determined to try that cord yarn though. Will have to order it from Europe!! Thanks again for the great tutorial:)🥰

I bought the yarn in my country. I know it is impossible to purchase the yarn online. Try to crochet them from t shirt yarn. It has to be thick yarn (Bobilon) 7-9 mm at least but better is 9-11 mm ;)
