Yeah and they thought Mark Appel has a bigger upside than Kris Bryant. And Brady Aiken was taken above Aaron Nola, Trea Turner, and Jack Flaherty. My point is you have to take analysis with a grain of salt. Players take time to adjust and in baseball teams get it wrong more often than right. Look at all the misses the Astros have had in the first round, yeah they hit on some great players, but Mark Appel never pitched a major league inning for the Astros.
Everyone’s talking about how they drafted Mark Appel over KB but they also drafted Jio Mier over Mike Trout

Honesty, looking at their current lineup, I dont see having kris Bryant really giving a whole lot more to the team. They have bregman 3rd, altuve 2nd, and Correa short. There's literally nowhere in the infield for him😂

Why does he say " first year player draft" ?
Because that’s the official name of the draft. There’s also a Rule 5 Draft where teams can draft a player from another team into their team if they are not “protected” (not on roster). So they need to distinguish the 2 so there is no confusion
