Oh man this video is unreal. Just hearing thought process of not jumping in where i would 100% have jumped in and the opposite for when you push the emp for example. Ye dudes are like working out quantum physics while playing this game and I'm here with my abacus diving rein :D
this is what honestly was the biggest breakthrough in understanding the job of a (main)tank for me, especially on defense: waste their time. drain their ressources, farm you ult. those are the biggest building blocks for tanks. you dont need to press w to the point of risk. you dont need to pop off and kill their healers yourself. you just have to be a nuisance for them and making sure that whatever they want to achieve, you are always there to make their job as hard as possible.
@@NathanASMR i mean i just repeat what bogur sais and does in this video. the thing is that when i realized this (from many tank coachings i watched from yt) i immidiatly improved as a tank. so i really do think as bogur and svb say, this is really key to playing a good tank.
@@FirebladeXXL I think Bogur is one of the smartest main tank players in top 500. Of course he's not just a ladder main tank but has played on teams and even had a run in EU Contenders Gauntlet as main tank for Old and Bored. Definitely a good person to learn from.
Hey svb. looking at 2:58 you list alot of noticable people like fitzy, jjangu and ml7 but jecse (main support fdor the dallas fuel) is also in this game on his alt perseverance, making it even more impressive.
This was fantastic information. Definitely one of the most in depth Winston videos especially in real times. Really great info especially against the new Rush meta. Really liked the detailed response to the Rush rotation. One of the best OW TH-cam commentators around, great video SVB. That allstar play in the beginning with the multi boop and midair pharah kill was absolutely insane!
If this is the level of educational content you can create if you stream less. Then I am 100% behind this. The way you break down aggression and timing engagements is so clean. Gg mate.
I never comment but after hearing about TH-cam engagement woes on your Twitch stream the other day I’m gonna start. Great video! Believe in the Bogur that believes in You! Monke etc.
I’m just really impressed by this guide. Love how you’ve put such clear example scenarios together. Pausing in a real match and explaining the thought process is surprisingly helpful, too. Amazing work. I’m inspired to work on my Winston play.
Best SVB video in a while, IMO. I'm just a sucker for teaching content, especially when it's like this. Picking the mind of a top player, hearing his process for making decisions helps a ton. I can watch VODs any day and say "I see, I would've done this or that but he does this" but knowing the reason he does that helps a ton in understanding the differences and updating myself.
This was such an awesome vid. I love the extra production value of the asides and additional staged game footage. Plus, we can never get enough Bogur. This is such a great series. Would love to see a D.Va or Brig. They are two of the most powerful heroes right now, but I feel like they are so hard for most players to understand how to get value out of.
I wish more people would see this video, my thought process on monke has been similar with the idea that Everything is a resource. It bugs me when a fight like the one at 7:22 happens and afterwards my team starts to get toxic cause we lost a fight. I would even point out that we took a good chunk of time off and forced ults, but they still insist its cause so and so is bad and should uninstall. This is a fantastic video, the way both Bogur and SVB explain some of the nuisances of Winston was super entertaining and insightful. Monke is way more than no aim no brain jump the healers.
Fantastic and high quality video. The editing was really good. I feel like I got through a Winston block and I’m able to contribute in my plat games again.
I gotta need to borrow some of the - if your team sucks, their team also does - imagine, what your team could do, if the focus was on you - mindset. !believe
Fascinating stuff! Decision-making is criminally underrepresented in guides for OW heroes. Sick rollouts, high accuracy headclicking, or 6k ults are fine and all, but consistent play needs consistent and correct decision-making, dependent on the everchanging situations
So good. Best content I've seen of yours yet. Good production, good original content and interview. Very insightful questions. You've stepped your game up massively.
I've been watching ever since you started seeing what was wrong in lower ranks, before you showed the facecam. Your content has matured and I'm excited to see where you're going next! (no offense)
Winston is probably my favorite tank, he's so satisfying to play. I didn't know bogur had a twitch, but I recognize him from ml7 videos and I am always excited when they're in the same game. There's nothing better than watching a Winston player who knows what he's doing 🥰
solid tips! and on a game where winston is definitely not the carry, educational stuff. Many ppl would feel very uncomfortable with brig lucio support line and leaving all the carry potential to the rest of the team.
Winston101 Imagine if the OW had guides of this quality baked directed into the client. OW has tons of small&large quirks that aren’t quite so simple for people to figure out unless they’re already actively learning. With relevant stats and guides more readily accessible, I’d imagine the average gamesense in the community would increase across all levels.
Question....SVB or Bogur I like running Winston / Rein... (Aggressive Rein), how do you think that tank duo compares to Winston / Zarya? Thx in advance.
In that scenario, Winston operates like a D.Va in a Rein D.Va comp basically - combatting off-anglers and far away threats. It's not really a dive comp the way double-bubble is, it's a brawl comp with a twist imho
I've been picking tank recently (I'm usually a plat support). I'm flabbergasted at how little value it seems Bogur is getting with all of these plays and how he's able to win with this support line, and against these opponents. I know it's kinda the point of the video but it shows how much I don't understand how tanks operate
4:15 I'm very confused. There was barely any damage to the healers and Zarya charged up, plus they did 300 damage worth of ultimate charge. Why isn't this considered feeding?
as a diamond player who has solo que'd my entire time playing OW, this dude does absolutely nothing differently than I do with the exception of his juggles possibly being better (timing the jump in mid air over nothing is pretty insane although i think another of his teammates was shooting the mercy too) aside from that, the only reason i think he's better than me is because he plays with better people and communicates with his team (something i also never do).
This is the Main Tank true experience: you do this and you instantly explode Team: everyone dead DPS: Stop feeding! Supports: Start killing! Me: I'm trying! Nobody appreciates your job as a space creator in lower ranks
Yea I got from this video is denying or creating space and all about timing for tanks buuuutt this works for High ranks because In low ranks when you do create space the Dps don’t know what to do with the space that is created for them
i really hope that this was useful for some of you and that you guys learned something. Much love ❤️, 🦍 gang.
I really appreciate it bro. Thx

Tnx for this king
great stuff, man - educational content for OW is still strong in 2021 :)
Believe.
This is the BEST modern guide for Winston.

Winning against JJANGGU, ML7, Fitzy, and Jecse with that team... legend.

Insane bubble placement at 17:35
Very well made video! Always fun to see people getting into dive concepts

Great guide, guys. I never thought about using the architecture like this.

I climb 600 Sr just playing Winston. I went from gold to diamond within one week. Thanks Bogur!

How dare you dilike this amazing contant
Thanks SVB & Bocur i will be better in my Winston games now ✌🏻
this is so cool
YESSSS more winston content
Really nice guide!
But hey, how come at 17:35 Bogur manages to put his bubble down while hacked?
if you time your bubble correct you can bubble the emp
@@bogur wow, I gotta learn that, fuck sombras man
Nice video svb and bogur. Will try and use the bubble more intelligently in my games. #ApesStrongTogether
Believe in the Bogur that believes in you
1. I focus enemy back line
2. Distract their healers the whole fight and kill them both
3. Team loses fight
4. -50sr

Aaaay, niiice!

Good lord I love Winston
0:28 I play Winston, I play main tank. (Meaning I sometimes play Reinhardt and that's it)
I want to see someday Harbleu in your video like that with Hog or Zarya.
I would love to hear Cyx’s thought process on hog
Ofc it's not gonna be an svb level game but he's doing an unranked to gm series right now

Omg the comments are all a year old. So weird that this was recommended to me lol

All this hype to play monke even though I know I’m gunna lose to a mercy in primal and some how fall off the map
