I think the most fascinating thing about this video series is the discussion of micro decisions on positioning and resource conservation i.e. how to time trans for maximum value vs a mei. Keeping in the "when do I commit resources/positioning" vein I'd love to see a Thought Process video on Zarya or Lucio especially a player that knows how to work well with an aggressive rein like LHCloudy and hear more about the thought process of synergies for that devastating rein play.

At about 29:00 I never, ever thought I'd hear the rank #1 Zen say this: "I've never practiced aim in my life. I feel like the best way to improve your aim in Overwatch? Is to play Overwatch." Straight up mind blown. I mean it makes sense...but still, mind blown.
Another great video really useful for understanding plays from the perspective of a specific hero. This is an awesome series and I hope you can continue it.
"I hate it when people call supports healers" i feel him, it's really underappreciating the power of supports. Whenever there is nothing with a higher priority, why not deal damage ?
I'd go further and say healing is a low priority for a support. You should only heal if that would help the push or if you're otherwise unoccupied. At the very least that'd help players understand that if they're not contributing to the fight then their priority to be healed is somewhere after you fragging / healing someone else / watching paint dry.
That's something i always say, i'm do happy he says the same. Too much people missunderstand Zen and mercy cause of that, focusing on healing when they don't have to
Yes and overall if a lot of healing is required, then that generally means the rest of your comp isn't playing properly (aka taking too much unncessesary damage). In some comps sustain is really important of course, like brawl, but if anyone picks Ana or Lucio or Zen for their "healer" capabilities then you're playing wrong. Utility almost always comes first, healing is more like a backup, unless you want to use burst healing to bait the enemy into overcommitting on one of your allies that you know you can save.
I feel like if the other players require a lot of healing, it's mostly on THEM to figure out how to be in good positioning and know where the health packs are. I can play as Sigma, for instance, and never die, and receive very little healing, but I trained myself to play that way. Every time you die, you are of NO USE to your team, so I figure that out first with a character and then go from there. I've played a lot of MMOs in my life and every time someone cries about needing more healing, it's because they are taking NO responsibility for keeping their HP up. I feel like that transfers to games like this, too.
@@christineharrelson4831 I'm fine being treated as a heal bot and popping ult every fight, as long as the team is not positioned completely stupidly (such that to heal them I have to turn my back on the enemy or peek a Widow or something), and that they are acutely aware that there is a maximum amount of healing that can be done and it's an automatic loss if incoming damage exceeds that and I continue to heal. Otherwise I will swap to dive Lucio or battle Moira.
For tanks, I'd love to see Ball or D.Va get a thought process vid. I feel like they are so often misunderstood. Or do a Winston vid with Bogur, just because we can never have enough Bogur. For DPS, I think Sombra or Tracer. For supports, I think Brig or Mercy. I know you and Freedo have chatted about how easy it is for Brig to get value when you know how to 'play the position,' but I don't think most metal rank players understand what 'play the position' means or how to execute it. I know there is a lot of Mercy educational content out there, but I think so much of playing her well and extracting value from her kit comes from decision making, so it would fit very well in this series.
Zenyatta is one of my fav supports. I've been playing a lot of Baptiste and Ana in rank, who I like, but find Zen more fun 😭. Great stuff so far! Subscribed and will try to finish video later
