    I didn’t buy this crash bar from bung king but I did buy a crash bar and using the tutorial and guidance from this video I was able to put a crash bar on my 2020 fxlrs . I am so pumped now and I don’t think I could have done it without the help from this video. Also this guy is fun to watch seems genuine and his vids are on point

    Ok so I put mine on today (2022 lowrider S) and couple of comments I’d like to mention. On the master cylinder side there are 5 holes when you remove the entire assembly and there were also five holes on that side of the crash bar for the bolts. You could only use 4 however because one of them is completely covered by the master cylinder housing and if you were to put a boat there it would impede on the back of the cylinder. I would also recommend to anybody doing this besides having a second person is to just lightly thread 2 of the bolts on one side and 2 on the other to get it situated. I learned the hard way after I got almost all of them in except one on the master cylinder side that was not lining up with the threads and had to loosen all of the bolts which sucked because I used blue thread locker.
    Regarding the possibility of stripping the bolts, wasn’t sure if you were referring to the removal or installation of the new ones. I had no issues removing but on that one near master cylinder (stock long torque head bolt) I almost stripped it bc the bit slipped inside of it.
    This isn’t a jab at your video but I figured I would offer this advice for all of TH-cam land because nobody else has videos on the installation of this bar that speaks of everything I just mentioned. Truth be told I probably would’ve just paid my local HD dealer for an hours worth of labor to avoid the frustration. I don’t have a bike lift or similar. Was a pain in the ass on the shift linkage side bc of it sitting low….I guess you did yours the same haha.

      I’ve got the mustache bars on my Bob. I don’t like the feet forward position so I stuck a couple yellow n black “ no step “ stickers on them. Doesn’t really fit the roadster cafe look but if it saves me from the scratches and dents I’m fine with the sacrifice. I’m putting on the slider passenger pegs as well.

    @Marvelkid87 I'm looking to upgrade to a LRS very soon. I'm looking at parts and definitely want some protection. I started riding on a Yamaha R3 and like to lean the bike over. Having started on such a light motorcycle, I am worried about scraping the engine guard you have installed. I see that Bung Kings makes a high version, but only for forward controls. What do you think?

    You scrape this bar at all around corners? I've heard of guys scraping this bar with the pegs that would be no bueno for me. Don't wanna lever the bike up on it around a curve. I wanted the high bar but it won't fit on 20+ without lowering the fork tubes 3/8 so it won't impact the fender under full compression.

    I've thought about putting this on. I have one of those big chrome hop looking crash bars now.
    I am struggling to see how the Bungking would protect the tank if the bike was on its side.
    I can see that it would protect the engine.
    Thoughts anyone?

    • @jacobkidd237
      @jacobkidd237 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bar ends protrude quite a bit and it prevents the tank from coming into contact with the ground. At least that's the idea. Not sure what clearance would look like towards the tail if you ever laid it down, but Bung King makes suspension mounted pegs for the rear for sporties, I'd imagine they offer something similar for softails.
