Great info, please, could you tell me if i can render a concrete wall only with lime and sand mortar, needs some special preparation? will it last on concrete, any advice? thank you!
Great tip about sticking to hawk....ive lime plastered my house and now realise my mix was too wet, initially used putty but too much hassle to mix up so just use hydraulic now...didnt use hair either but no signs of shrinkage! Good videos...simple and to the point!
In original construction hundreds of years ago, where plaster was applied on brick or stone walls, they wouldn't have had hoses that could easily wet down a wall like that. It's hard to imagine using a bucket and brush and wetting down a 30 square meter wall prior to plastering. Would they use much wetter plaster? Otherwise the wall would suck the moisture out before you were able to properly spread the plaster.
Who taught this man not to wet the board and to have his handboard and trowel standing like it is? Why does he play with the material on his handboard (hawk)? Different to how I was taught.
Is there a good way to bond lime plaster onto a rigid foam insulation? Will it work if I apply a mesh on top of the foam board? I'd really like to use a real lime plaster and not an acrylic product.

in australia my dad and i use lime render for patch up work and straw bale houses.
Traditional hotmix user here. Is this a high calcium lime mortar with added pozz?

Hi, you shouldn’t apply lime plaster to rigid foam - or use rigid foam insulation where you need breathability as it will not allow moisture transfer
Whats ratio to float coat same as u base scratch coat with goat hair?
What is the best lime-to-sand ratio for indoor applications?
@@GB-tn6zf Thanks.
Better not to let the wall dry out in the first place.
Good!👍
