Great to see this . I don’t think many lime plaster anymore . Shame realy because it’s the best way to plaster walls . Not browning or dot &dab. Lime is the best
The video was earlier in my TH-cam channel video making experience. However, I will be undertaking more lime plastering this year and will be filming the whole show farther than bits.
i just had to demo a lime plasterd bathroom with 100 yr old brick walls, the lime plaster was stuck like shit on a shovel yet not brittle hard. I was very impressed
Yes lime mortar/plaster is extremely good for old structures for a few reasons. One is its flexibility that allows movement of the structure as in expansion and shrinkage in warm and cold weather conditions. Also its ability to vent water vapour and moisture through masonry is exelent for solid constructed walls.
I will be doing some more lime plastering this year and will give a full step by step demonstration on lime plastering. The video you referred to was made when I first started filming on the channel so it's not the best. Better now with more experienced in making the videos.
I know exactly what you mean but being as your down to the brick work, taking off the skirting boards would not cost that much and some would argue that plastering around woodwork or coving costs more in the long run.@@lorddust60
He said Make sure In this coat you use plenty of animal hair in it, it could be horse it could be goat; I wouldn’t try anything like cat hair it wouldn’t work, so don’t go picking up cat hairs from around the house 😂

Not many can do this now. The old skills are being left behind.
Old skills yes we are becoming a county with skilled people like ship building, heavy engineering and so on.
Would liked to have seen you apply the lime putty

From a decorating point of view I am surprised he didn't remove the skirting boards and architraves.
My client did not want them taken off as he was tight on budget.
@@lorddust60 But why leave the top architrave in place when the two side pieces were already removed?

Everyone has their own way of doing it. Skipping parts or changing things. , But none of this is in the manual
Brilliant video
We have more lime plastering coming to the channel soon.
@@lorddust60 looking forward so little time so much to learn
Great for tennis elbow
Is the mix an NHL or air lime?
Air lime
What are you ruling off with, a lolly stick?😅
Only on this one
Top job 👏
Anyone know what is said at 1.40? Something about you'll be bored and Catherine....

This is the way!!!!
Something went wrong with the editing as it's 2x the same footage spliced toghter. It actually should have ended at 11:24
Yes one of my earlier videos, they are much better now. Thanks for the interest and input its always appreciated 👍
i call this parging unless you demonstrate building the mortar not sure the value how to sake very important
I hope your client got rid of those awful sapele flush doors. Needs braced and battened, to compliment your traditional work
I think he did in the end
