A thing i noticed about The Resistance is how Matt uses a slightly different timbre, lower, deeper and more guttural, all to resemble an opera singer's voice. An ode to the classical influences of the album which was entirely recorded in Vincenzo Bellini's beautiful mansion over Lake Como in Italy.
Always great to see your reactions! Another song that’s unfortunately never really played anymore which is a shame. I really enjoy the all the changes during Muse’s tracks. Along with Microcuts, this is another track which has a fun section at the end. Sort of reminded me of an old-style Metallica riff. I especially like, as you pointed out, how each album has a vastly different feel to it. This one is some more symphonic and almost operatic feel to it (hence the 3-part symphony). Looking foreword to United States of Eurasia.
From The Resistance I love also Resistance, the title track. Then, if you'd like to start also with Simulation Theory I think the first two tracks (Algorithm and The Dark Side) are good.
This one is really easy to play for a beginner and makes you feel like a rock God. It is more about the lyrics and atmosphere of the song. Very Jeff Wayne.
