The 20 years anniversary of this track is sick. It's not very obvious in the original mix but there is a fucking harpsichord in here !!

I remember buying OoS 20 years ago and was absolutely blown away. Seen em live 9 times since then. Absolute killer band with some of the craziest songs I've ever heard.
Enjoy discovering all of this. I know how it feels.

A high voice over metal is so compelling which is why the female fronted Symphonic metal bands are so popular. I assume that you are conscious of Nightwish and Epica? If not then that is another magic rabbit hole to explore.

From what I have read (not sure if it is true or not), but there are only two other famous singers that could hit those notes consistently in rock. And they were both in the same band.... Roger Taylor and Freddie Mercury of Queen. As a singer, it impresses the h*ll out of me. I try all the time and I am probably just killing my vocals. lol The Handler is one of my favs.

I've enjoyed seeing your reactions to Muse given they're my favourite band. I cannot recommend enough listening to the whole live performance of Earls Court 2004 - BBC Radio (UK) broadcast the performance live so the full concert audio is out there. It's too long for a reaction, yet is an awesome experience given how Muse are live. Cheers

The falsetto in this track was to Spite their old record company that told them to limit the falsetto on their next album or they would be dropped. So they said “Fuck That” and went HIGH! xD

Really happy you enjoyed this one! If you're curious to hear the wildest scream ever produced by human vocal chords, watch the Zenith 2001 live version of this song (in your own time). I have no idea how on earth he produces such sounds. Looking forward to more reactions, the ones on your list are great. I'd also add Screenager in there; it's much lower-key, quite slow and dark, but the guitar sounds splendid. A change of pace if you need it.

First time I heard this album back to back (bought on a whim shortly after it came out) my mind was blown, it was like a journey into this mad headspace and loved every second. Micro Cuts, Megalomania, Darkshines, New Born, Citizen Erased and Hyper Music were my favourite tracks, and as a bass player I learned all of them that very week xD Space Dementia I learned to appreciate when I grew up a bit.

From I recall from the Muse biography ("Not of this World"), the Micro Cuts song was particularly embraced by Asian fans. I don't know exactly why -- perhaps having something to do with the Kabuki tradition -- but when Muse did the concerts in Asia, the fans went nuts for this song (among others).

I remember getting this album back when it came out and I must have skipped this song the first 20 or 30 times because the falsetto etc was just a bit too much for me. Couldn't get into it. Eventually I must have been busy whilst it was on and out of nowhere that end riff suddenly happened..... Never skipped it ever again :D
