Music was absolutely magnificent when both Brian and Bryan worked together. Sad that they only released two albums together, but both are rock classics. Thanks for posting this rare soundtrack.
i bought a technics SL-Q2 yesterday with some albums. I'm playing viva ! now with the telly as a background "light".... :). I was looking for comments on "chance meeting" meanwhile.... a brilliant song !!
I saw them all over NYC in the 70s. Was at the BOTTOM LINE when JERRY HALL came out swinging her tail. Saw them with GARY TIBBS on bass. ANDY McKAY is eclectic on this and all his work with ROXY MUSIC. Their album cover was banned in the US - you couldn't get it - but one year my little bro gave it to me for Christmas. Best Christmas gift, EVER. Thanks for the upload and the CREDITS ❣
Absolutely superb video. Perfect movie to go with what must be one of Roxy’s best ever tracks. Eno’s synths when she is on the platform is memorising. Well done, playing over and over
If I remember right that is an oboe Eddie jobson plated me and my brother had first role at the Uptown Theater for the siren tour I believe it was 1975 had all their bootlegs love them then love them now great music never gets old
I never thought I'd seen you again Where have you been until now? Well how are you how have you been It's a long time since we last met It seems like yesterday when I first Saw you in your red dress smile How could I forget that day I know that time spent well is so rare
when you listen to the later garbage it`s easy to forget just how unique and devastating this band were. One of the best guitar breaks ever.......emotion over technique (and by the way Coltrane taylor , it`s an oboe - not a sax)
@lightflower That's Trevor Howard in Brief Encounter. Leslie Howard unfortunately perished two years earlier in 1943 when his camouflaged airliner was shot down by the Nazis. Nice video by the way!
I know this is an insanely late reply, but just in case you never found out, it's Brief Encounter (1945), a classic romance - well worth a watch. The song is actually a sequel to the film.
This is pure art form music. With the film it only adds to the haunting beauty of the music.
Beautiful rare version. And the soft schreeching in the background really freaked me out.

The way this song turns into both ends burning in VIVA is amazing.
SO agree with you !
Listen to the bass lines. RIP Graham Simpson, founding member of Roxy Music & bass player from 1971 to 1972.
yes really something
Agree, Simpsons bass lines are epic
Viva Roxy Music!
Simply brilliant!
Just haunting! Nothing they did since has matched this classic. My all-time favourite Roxy track ever.
For you Maria ❤️
superb live version of one of the PEARLS in music of the great 70's!!! Thank you for sharing this!
I remember this playing in my bedroom this album with my telly on as I light 💡

such a movin song from d past. and a great version it is.
I first hear this via Ferry's later remake. Which itself is good . But this is from another world.
Fuck! This version is awesome! That screeching and the sax is something!

The video to this, not this one, is crazy.
I believe it is an oboe, not a sax, but awesome just the same ;-)
Weird- sounds to me like i hear both soprano sax AND oboe.
Oh... thanks for the correction!
