With the talented influencial Eddie Jobson. Probably Roxy Music's most haunting spiritual song. You can easily lose yourself in this and a spliff. I did in 74! 😋
I remember buying this album back in 74 and it still sounds as great as when i first listened to it. Psalm is brilliant and so is this live version. Always loved Roxy, they were so unique... Never to be repeated.

Beautiful....I would be highly honored if Mr ferry would sing some of my songs when I meet him in heaven or perhaps he could give me some singing lessons so I can do it myself
This whole era of Roxy was such a defining period in my life....I wish I could put it into words but whenever i hear this album it transports me back into that time like it was yesterday. Does anyone else feel the same?
This one took a long time to grow on me, I had the album when it first came out but did not care for this song back then. I tended to like their fast paced songs only back then. This is now one of my favorites of theirs. My taste in music has matured as I've gotten older.
Crazy to think. I’m 32 discovers it one night when I was 20. I can never articulate how much it means to me, so I won’t try. Here’s to 50 years more of people being able to discover and find themselves in this great art.
Adorably Beautiful! I love you Roxy Music and all the good you represent. "A good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth good... for out of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks. Jesus Christ 💗
Oh my goodness...so well said...and the congregation says AMEN and AMEN. Roxy is so cool. If you look at the ' More than this ' and the large cross in the video...sure seems like Brian is a believer. Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalm is on my funeral party play list. If I have to say so myself it's a damn good list, it's just a pity I won't be there to hear it!!! When it's my time Drink from His cup Hush now don't you cry His quiet waters Will never, never run dry.....
It's extraordinary music and I had the great pleasure of watching RM live back in the 70s in Liverpool, Manchester & London; priceless memories; takes me right back when we were young!
On all the first 4 albums together there are not more than 2, 3 not so good pieces. They are all so good that it is hard to say which is the best. But there are some songs that stick out far above, and If There is Something is one of them. The emotional way he sung at this time was utter brilliance. But I love also the bass and the drums. Gorgeous.
All of those years ago putting on this album for the first time and I hear this. It's been a quiet gulity pleasure ( again, over the years ) of trying to assess what Bryan was truly reaching for in this song, after all This is Bryan Ferry. Now, please don't be offended, I have long ago left as a beliver to, but this song still moves me. Viva La Roxy!!
This is the first time I've heard/seen this, as I only got into music/hi-fi perhaps 5 years later & am now hungry to fill the void of what I'd previously been ignorant of. Bryan is my all-time favourite artist. He exudes class and is uniquely talented/creative & for years, has respected/enjoyed his fellow musicians by letting them take centre stage to showcase their amazing talents. 👍❤
interesting. I was listening to a playlist of The Tubes band of the mid 1970s to mid 1980. They and their frontman Fee Waybill were humorous, satirical, superb musically . fell asleep for a few hours and I wake up and Im here at this video . dee Lawd works in strange ways. I had earned some big money in the summer of 75 and rewarded myself by buying a bigassed stereo. The salesman used Stranded as the demo for showing what the unit could do. I was hooked. I had no idea who Roxy Music was but I soon found out. Of course, it was the first LP I bought to go with my purchase...
This is decidedly better than the album version. A bit more uptempo which really makes a difference. Has a quite a bit more funk and shake and fun to it.
Andy MacKay did improve over the years. He’s actually a great musician. This performance might not be the best example. Maybe the mix was too much on the sax. But what a great moment captured.
Better theology than alot of sermons I've heard....a Masterpiece... but It's Roxy Music... what do you expect?

Full Lyrics:
Try on your love
Like a new dress
The fit and the cut
Your friends to impress
Try on your smile,
Square on your face
Showing affection
Should be no disgrace
Try out your God
Hope He will send
Kindness from strangers
On whom you depend
Try on His coat
A mantle most fine
Myriad colors
His harmony-thine
Believe in me
Once seemed a good line
Now belief in Jesus
Is faith more sublime
Head in the clouds
But I can't see the Lord
Short of perfection
I'll try to be good
I'll stand at His gate
I'll wait for His sign
Then I'll walk in His garden
When it's my time
Drink from His cup
Hush now don't you cry
His quiet waters
Will never, never run dry
Nearing death's vale
He's here by my side
He leads me to paradise
A mountain so high
Don't be afraid
Just treasure His word
Singing His praises
I know that I'll be heard
He's gonna take you by the hand
He's gonna make you feel so good
Open up your eyes
And then you'll see all that you should
Forget all your troubles
You will feel no pain
He's all that you need
He's your everything
When I'm feeling all at sea
Deliverance is that distant shore
I will not be worried
Someday His house will be my home
For ever more
