Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.
The remote pass limit isn't the major issue and hopefully lot of players discover that the $2 price tag per pass is unacceptable. Considering how many of the ultrabeasts are region locked, lifting up the limit is the very least they could do, but to make the event real great, the prices have to go back to the original price or it just isn't worth it.
Same thing I thought upon seeing that. At the current RRP price I couldn't care less about removing the 5 per day limit. Whales will be happy, but for the average player this bonus might as well not even exist.
Yeah if remotes stay price-gouged, I'm swearing off the region locked bosses.

That why u buy only when they have a good pack.(example 3 remote n 2 raid passes for 500ish coins or the 3 raid passes n 2remote for 400ish) Waste 1 n can get 5 this way. But Maybe they will have a nice pack for that day n remove the hold limiton them.
@NeVErseeNMeLikEDis They aren't going to increase the limit you can hold past 5, though technically the limit is 3. Even if they include bundles for remote raid passes, it will assuredly still be over 100 coins each when you itemize the bundle.

Not excited for this event personally, but I do like the 5 star raid variety in it and it's cool that they're giving trainers who may have missed out a chance to catch all the UBs thus far.
Everything is good but there one down about this is the price of remote raid. How is Niantic think increase the remote raid limit but keeping the price make no sense.

@@buxkket5582 Nah I hate Niantic just like everyone else, just tired of all the complaining about the SAME ISSUES. Niantic has made it clear they don't give a f*** about us, at this point it should be clear to everyone whether or not they want to keep playing or not.
Early timezones get screwed with the beastballs because late timezones get more time on the event with them but early timezones lose out on like 2 days of not being able to use them just like last time it was a global challenge and less people play now so who knows how much time it will take this time

So...I am going to raid the 4 I have in my area all week and save the 3 I can't get here for go fest...no remote passes needed....also alot of the ultra beasts u can solo like guzzlord..kartana..and buzzwoll
This event seems like trash. It preys on remote raiders more than anything if you consider the fact that most will not be able to raid every UB. That leaves the only option for them is to spend 2x on passes.I'll keep playing F2P and just do the bare minimum.
I have to still knock it because of how expensive remote raid passes are. With unlimited remotes we are basically rewarding niantic for raising the raid price.
Good point. I'll think about doing 5 or fewer per day. Its usually zero, but I'm making an exception for GO Fest because the game is just way more fun when you spend money. 😅
Anything raiding is disappointing anymore. Can't do them in person because very few players do in person raids, so I am actually more dependent on remote passes than I was before the nerf.
Are you sure? I'm an in-person raider - often with other real humans from Facebook/Campfire/Discord, but also hosting remote raids. In PokeGenie app, the queue to HOST a raid has been above 100 lobbies for Yveltal's current rotation and advanced quickly when I tried it recently. Give it a shot! I recommend being in sight of the gym as soon as it hatches in case the wait to host is long or moving slow.

I have a ticket, flight, and hotel for Go Fest.... BUT, it's set to rain. :((( Might cancel my trip, I usually bring my electric skateboard to get around, would have been legendary to do in NYC.
How would I know the quality of the pokemon before I catch it? Didn't you say " if you come across a high IV, use the special ball to guarantee you catch it". Confused

Ok so I have work when the raid hour hits everyday except Monday so Monday I’ll be out for the raid hour trying to catch it but I do have a gym at my work, is it still worth it to buy the ticket?

I think I will skip the stakataka since I think it looks awful and it doesn't have a shiny form and as from what I've understood, no real meta relevance, and I already have 7 or 8 of them but the rest I'm really excited for, especially the Kartana raid hour, except gofest itself of course!
Finally am exciting event but yea how do we get them to repeat this? 20 remote passes is awesome and even 15 each day would be tolerable.
The issue I have with this is moreso the fact that not only do we have a ticket to buy in order to play Global GO Fest, but you also have to put more money just to get the 10 free passes in order to use them for that weekend event. That, to me, is a dick move from Niantic considering that it was part of the bonus from last year's event.
Also, the remote cap isn't really much of am improvement to me when remotes cost an arm and leg to buy, and very rarely do the bundles featuring passes have any sort of value to them. Unless I have built remote passes prior to this event, I'm sacking off the regionals. The game is basically become "vote with your wallet" and I honestly don't like the direction Niantic is heading with all of this. Global GOFest may well be the final event I ever play if I must be honest.
I'm excited about it and agree with you that should of had all of the ultra beasts that are region locked should of all been available,you forgot about the global community challenge to get access to the beast balls that increase the catch rate on all ultra beasts
I had many elite raids around me but managed to do only 1 cause the pogo community is dead, no one uses the campfire chat app... i saw 50 people trying to remote raid normally only see 3-6 so yeahhh not a great day in Holland

I still think it’s crazy that not only did they nerf the amount we can do a day, but they also raised the price so much. Doubling the amount per pass damn near is insane man. I can’t ever bring myself to spend money on this game anymore (I just spent my first 85 dollars of the year on this game for 2024). I’m happy that I get to connect more with my discord community again and a little more of what’s left of my local community. It just sucks that’s it’s only this time of year when we feel some positivity again.
I mostly agree. Remote raid prices are still cheap when you consider how much more convenient they are compared with in-person raiding. They did increase the price too fast, but at least it hasn't continued going up! BUT the limit you can hold is too low. The limit you can use per day is too low. They don't go on sale often enough or at big enough discounts and hardly EVER drop from weekly breakthrough boxes.
@@doublecomplex4741 i think it’s just the immediate jump from 100 to 195 that hurt the player base, that’s too much of an extreme. A 95% increase is insane man. To think instead of doing a 100 raids you can now do only 55 is mind boggling to think about. I wouldn’t have minded a 125-150 increase first.

Europe getting shafted with pheromosa and stakataka. Pretty much least useful ultra beasts. Buzzwole=good fighter, xurkitree=one of the best electric types, blacephalon=useful ghost type attacker. Smh
Event scheduling of course can't work for everyone, but raid hours almost never work for me. There's just too much happening at that time of day to raid in person. If I could raid remotely, I wouldn't even need to wait for raid hours. I'm going to raid remotely A LOT that week, breaking my F2P status and commitment. Niantic hasn't done much to earn even more money from me, but I have some gift cards so I'm going to make GO Fest an exception.

I feel this event is disappointing because these are the majority of featured raids at GO-Fest. If you do these raids at an in-person go fest your bonuses will be much better getting more candy and XL candy per pass. It is devaluing the Go-fest experiences and ticket costs.
It is guaranteed XL candies for trades currently. Idk if that applies to mythicals/legendary pokemon... but it is guaranteed for regulat trades
I was kinda happy about this as it would mean less raiding during go fest. But in classic niantic fashion the ultra beasts are still region locked and i suddenly stopped caring about this event all together. Guess it's a nice break from the game before go fest, but really disappointing.
Clown game
If 5% of us grab the ticket it will show what we consider a good value. Right now we really can't afford to be extremely petty or we won't get any improvements at all. We need to put our money where our mouth is for the foreseeable future and this is worth it. There are so few worthwhile tickets in general that we need to have at least a small group of us grab the good ones when they're around.
Finally. The only time I haven't seen this guy upload a video badmouthing the game, in a while

There's an old one that I think might have been free. I don't think any research gives encounters with UBs except for the GO Fest ticket's branched research that will probably give you Lunala/Solgaleo.

Haven't so far, and probably won't this time around either. Having a limit bites, the but real issue with remote raids are the $2 price tag that comes with each boss. A lot of people can't even afford to reach the limit with the current prices.
There might be a sale for GO Fest, but it will definitely be a part of a larger bundle.
