Yes but terribly impractical for actual dancing, not only does it fly around and impede your vision, but whips your partner in the face during turns. Most dancers in the real world wear their hair tied back.
I agree 100% with most viewers that this was a flop but should not have been! It still is so iconic with The Bee Gees soundtrack and gorgeous John Travolta strutting at the end after he wowed the audience with his incredible moves! Love love love the dancing and music of this video. Laura Jazz Dancing gets you to this incredible clip where she moves like smoke. Love her so much. Such a great actress and played bitchy, spoiled Laura so well. Cynthia Rhodes is also an incredible dancer and Frank Stallone's singing and songwriting are right on point! I give this movie five stars!
Such a great medley of songs where Vince DiCola got to take the lead and give us a great precursor of what he'd give us with the Transformers soundtrack 3 years later.
I know it was a commercial flop but but I liked it so that's all I care about out and I think the actors were fantastic with some great choreography involved and a lot of working to get it right and a credit to all of them
@@RedDj009 Yes, so you looked her up in Wikipedia, where it says that she's English: that she was born in London and trained as a dancer in London. What's your point?
Personally I think Finola Hughes is pretty interesting how Cynthia Rhodes (my mom said she looked like her sister my aunt) got all the attention and praise even tho she was cast as a chorus girl and jilted gf
This way more camp than the actual other movie this is in. PS: and I'lI bet Butler was secretly hoping Manero was lookin at him , yes ????? tsk-tsk !!!!!!!
Hi Neoasura, I personally love this montage of music in this movie, as well as the movie itself. Frank Stallone released a self titled album in 1984 and the closest you'll get to hearing the music you are referring to happens at 2:05 on track 9 called 'I Do Believe In Love'. On hearing it, you will notice a distinct resemblance. I really do hope this soundtrack one day receives an expanded edition, which includes this particular montage, including the music that immediately proceeds it (You know, the bit when Tony asks if he has any messages - it's an inside joke). That's Vince DiCola, who went on to do the Rocky IV score in 1985. Hope this helps.
This movie mostly flopped, and was roundly criticized, but it’s not that bad, it has great dancing (if not club/disco like everyone expected) and all the music and songs are all good.
Hi Mark, I personally love this montage of music in this movie, as well as the movie itself. There appears to be no known distinguishing titles for these 3 instrumentals that feature in this montage of music. However, Frank Stallone released a self titled album in 1984 and a snippet from the last song, before the characters applause, as you mention, does appear to be the closest you'll get to hearing the last song you are referring. This happens at 2:05 on track 9 called 'I Do Believe In Love', be it at a higher key. On hearing it, however you will notice a distinct resemblance.

I'm surprised Tony didn't take a job at a local strip club doing love adagios with the girls. Back in our day a guy, if good looking enough and a good dancer, could get a gig like that.
Is it me or Broadway shows have become more vocal/singing based? Shows used to be staged by dancers back then, and now they're staged by singers or people who can't dance :o
Tony was out here dogging out his sure thing, Jackie, for some rich b*tch Broadway trollop, who didn't even want him...and had the nerve to be so damn jealous, when Jackie MIGHT have had her eye on somebody else. Tony was a real piece of work, in this one...he couldn't even have female company, where he lived...😂
Cynthia Rhodes is the best dancer and singer in this movie.
Laura stood out because she had beautiful long hair and everyone else had short feathered hair!
Yes but terribly impractical for actual dancing, not only does it fly around and impede your vision, but whips your partner in the face during turns. Most dancers in the real world wear their hair tied back.
Forty years later and Finola Hughes is still gorgeous as hell on General Hospital.
I still have the CD. This movie means the world to me
I loved all of it, Saw it when it came out 1983, it should have been a number one hit plus the Bee gees songs are all great and Frank Stallone😊
Me too
I almost forgot about Tommy Faragher! Awesome!
Laura character was a cold hearted person
But God gave her a talent to dance
But our hearts speaks volume
Every little move she makes is magic ✨
VICTORIA of CATS !
Staying Alive may have been a commercial flop at the time, but the choreography was awesome! Finola Hughes is an outstanding dancer💕

Great movie!! does anyone know what kind of dance it is??
Hey, it is called contemporary dancing.
Does anyone know the blonde dancer dude who plays Laura's partner in this video? I could swear I have seen him in other 80's movies too?
Anyone know what the middle jazz song is starting at 1:03?
This movie mostly flopped, and was roundly criticized, but it’s not that bad, it has great dancing (if not club/disco like everyone expected) and all the music and songs are all good.
0:26 What is this Song...? Whats a Name ..?
Frank Stallone - Royal Theater Show
What is the last song called, right before the characters start the applause ?
Did you ever find out, it's so amazing I need it!

Cynthia Rhodes is much better
She was also a dancer in Flashdance, brilliant!
I think Cynthia Rhodes was a much better dancer than Finola
Fiona is good but Cynthia is GREAT. That woman can sing, act & dance!!! Seriously talented & criminally underrated:(
