  • Have a glorious day and keep Tinkering! A user asked about placing holes in Tinkercad. So here are some steps Place Holes evenly on a rectangle in Tinkercad. The best part is the Steps are shown in under 4 minutes. =)
    Tinkercad is an amazing design tool that works in a web browser. Fun, fast, and full of tools that you can create with. This lesson is quick but covers some really useful skills.

      Glad you liked the video . Tinkercad does not have a automatic way to bevel the inside of those curves. You can send your design to Fusion 360 though. th-cam.com/video/EseSHX-_mJY/w-d-xo.html

    The "hole" reason I selected THIS VIDEO was to see how to space them evenly. You just eyeballed that part. I did learn how to do a LOT of other things, so all is not lost. Just need to figure out that spacing. Back to more TH-cam content searches.

      You might be able to make it work with my ruler video. th-cam.com/video/odBb7hH063U/w-d-xo.html To evenly space holes you likely will have to do some math.

      My pleasure Craig Reich. Thank you for the question! 👍💯 I have a even slicker way rolling in my head using codeblocks... Just need to get it created. =)

    Thanks for your EXCELLENT TinkerCad videos learned a lot from them. I have a problem I hope you can help with. I have a solid plate 200x200x3 mm in STL file. I want to put venulation holes in plate. I am using a Printables download called HEXAGONIAL GRID GENERATOR IN OPENSCAD to generate a hole pattern that I want to put into plate. Can Tinkercad combine these two STL files putting hex holes in plate? Do you have a video on this function? Thanks again David

      Thanks for the kind words. Tinkercad has a built in set of grid tools. You should be able to totally skip the openSCAD steps. th-cam.com/video/aiPkTBbzk0s/w-d-xo.html That vid is uses the square grid but you could easily swap to the hexagon.

    Mike, how do you do equal spacing between perimeters of the holes, rather than equal space between centres of the holes?

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no automatic way. It would involve trickeration and some prior planning (maths). 😬 I know that does not scare you, but there is a large # of users that are not willing to do some calculating to get the design they want.

      Shoot, you may be able to do that just using the nudge. Still have to do the math, but nudge to the edge... nudge your gap and repeat for each hole.

    Can we do threaded holes in Tinkercad?

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a few thread tools available in the shape catalog. th-cam.com/video/l9PHk4gqtfM/w-d-xo.html

      Then you just need to make them a hole and group them.

    Hello Is there a way to draw a flat spiral with tinker cad ??

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You may want to check out my shape generator catalog. It makes it easier to search for shapes by name th-cam.com/video/l9PHk4gqtfM/w-d-xo.html

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you truly want to start flat you may want to find a image of the spiral and then use these steps to import it as a SVG. This tutorial should hook you up. th-cam.com/video/ua1fT4Xh2fY/w-d-xo.html

      The helix from the shape generators works too if you move the separation parameter to its lowest setting.

    So, how do you evenly space objects?

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no automatic way. You can use the same nudge between them. Spacing is easy in codeblocks too. th-cam.com/video/LFmH_VKSySQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FEwFmXvoIa-OvcsA

      There are some slick tools like the array. What sort of objects do you want to space evenly? th-cam.com/video/U7JV32MIHKg/w-d-xo.html

    Waste of time - doesn't teach you how to evenly space holes...just get them "to your liking".

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry you feel that way. Tinkercad does not have an autmatic tool, so I believe this is the easiest way for holes of different sizes. If your holes are all the same size you can just use the same nudge in between them and easily get your desired result. With a little math you can put the ruler to good use as well.

      Some drawings can get away with that level of inaccuracy. Others benefit from precision. Those users needing precision will find Mike's tutorial really helpful.
