- Who knows if it will work!
Of course it didn't work! At first I thought it was louder, but after some tests was the same.
Second version I made with no gyroid, change the shape a little more and it's doing well! I don't hear much from the box anymore. Now I hear the air out the duct and some high frequency. Will now make a chamber for the exit/pressure side.
Cant wait to see the result man :)
If you have the room to spare, you can use a woodglue/plaster of paris mix to help add mass and dampen vibrations to that box. So basically another box around this one. A 30mm wall should do well! That will help dampen vibration noise from the motor and "seal" a bit of the noise from the movement of air.
If you use about 1kg of plaster, you add a mix of 640g water and 110g PVA glue (750g total) and it deadens sounds quite well.
But you still have to deal with the intake, which I guess this box is made for?
This is the intake and holds the motor. I was able to redesign the intake air path a little better and add a tube to the intake, which does not go all the way to the top. The bouncing sound waves cannot easily get out. This has contained most of the intake noise. Now I have noise from the air out the duct and some high frequency at the outlets. I will try and add a resonator to the pressure side and see if it will cancel some of the noise.
First time here. I am intrigued. Please, continue. 😊
Nick Nolte, how you doing buddy?
@@user-po7iv4ni3o I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I don’t regret any of them. Sometimes that’s the only way you learn.
What backers do you have for those rails? Nice machine dude :>
1/8" aluminum plate.
What is the 100k rpm fan you have installed on this?

What driver are you using to allow you to control the speed from your printer controller?@@MrRocksalt
@@timsmeed210 Driver for gantry or driver for motor? TMC5160HV for gantry and 350W speed controller. I think I listed in video description the unit I used.
