Grady's are sure a Superior boat in all aspects. Great walkthrough and we'll explained. Just wondering if the new design Tabs will become the normal and replace the Bennett trim tabs?? Great Video on the Grady. Had restored a 1976 overnighter, currently owen a 226 Seafearer.
Thanks. They only use the Zip Wake tabs on 456. They are also on the S428 Pursuit. They still use Bennett for everything else. Bennett is now owned by Yamaha. Fun fact😁
Love the video, thanks for going into such great detail. I just started Captaining on a 456 and Id love to ask you some questions if that's ok. If I could get in contact with you somehow that would be amazing!
Thanks Justin for all of your videos! I just finished all of them and I find them both very enjoyable and informative. Could you possibly tell us how to clean out the strainers for the AC and the raw water on a Grady White? Also could you show us how to winterize the Fisher Panda generator for those of us who have to deal with freezing temperatures? Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos!
Good to see someone that knows their job and truly cares about what they do. Boat safety is life or death. Question, which do you like better? This Grady or the Boston Whaler 50th anniversary model? Thnx for your time
First off, Thank you and that is a hard question. I like the tower on the Whaler and the layout is great. They are both unique in their own ways. The only thing that would steer me away from the Whaler is the Mercury's. I have done this a long time and because of that I would only buy Yamaha. I like the Mercury's but they are just not as bullet proof as the Yams in my opinion.
$2,000,000 fishing yacht and a galvanized anchor chain? Bah 🤨 Even my Aquasport 170 (1975 😁) has stainless. 'Course, it's a bit cheaper than what a 46' Grady White would need, but still...just sayin...spend a few more beans for the good stuff. By the way...if you need help with the first sea trial, I'm your man 🙋 yeah, I'm a team player like that 😁👍
@bradhuskers Don't get me wrong, Yamahas are great and I have several of them. But the leaps and bounds that mercury marine has made especially with their 400 v-8, 500R and their 600 ,if you want performance, I'd try the mercs!
OK,dummy here-all you are doing,is that just to transport it and making sure it all works,or is it what a person has to do all the time just to use the boat.Sorry to sound like an idiot but I really would like to know.Thanks.
It's called a PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). Basically going thru the boat to make sure everything is correct and ready for the new owner. Also has to be done for the warranty of the boat and motors. Good question.
@@JustinLeeMarine ok,thank you much.I kinda thought that.Been trying to decide if I ever get lucky and win a JP(lol, don't laugh) between this GW or the World Cat.Love the GW cabin a whole lot better than a cat tho.
@@JustinLeeMarine The covers for the button literally say up and down on them, the arrows underneath should correspond to the covers. Now they read the opposite of each other. And you’re looking at it backwards, the windlass reads the anchor locker not the anchor itself.
This has been a long time debate for allot of people. I have even asked the manufacturers and they don't have a straight answer. The new switches don't have an arrow on them anymore because of the confusion of the direction. This is what I was told by Lewmar years ago. If you are holding a remote in your hand then up is up and down is down. As soon as you lay them flat on a deck or floor the arrows should face the direction that the motor is turning. I agree with what you are saying and why they should be that way. 🤗
What an awesome boat. Thank you for such a great, in-depth video!
Excellent buddy! 👍🏻
The problem with this amazing video is I now want a bigger Grady! Very cool video and amazing boat.
What an awesome informative video about boating 😂
Very nice boat ❤❤
She's a beast 🎉
That was a very in depth look at one of my favorite boats-that was Excellent Justin,Thanks
Thank you. I also love that boat. Big beautiful beast😁
Nice boat! Great Video!
I know and thank you. 😊
Is that a normal finish on the the walls where the chain and rope goes?
Love this boat
Great video!!
Just stumbled on here... GREAT video. You earned a subscriber for sure. Ex GW 273 Chase owner.
Thank you 😊

So good easy fix
That C Zone system is really cool. Looks like you can control everything from that panel.
Basically it's all in one unit. It all comes from ambulances. That is where Czone started
Any reason why there is not a sensor for gear oil level? Or a defined method to check from Mercury, minus the DIY dipstick?
I always wondered that too. They have never put a dipstick in the gearcase. Guess if you are going to check it you should just change it. 🤗

Are you confusing up and down with in and out? Seems from the operators perspective up would be away and down would be towards you.
Have not seen Oscar in a long time!!
I know. Soon enough 😁
Wow 40 years I never would know switch was backwards
Anchor locker unfinished, just ready to continue degrading and absorbing water. Thanks for reminding me not to buy Grady again.
There are more old (really old) Grady’s out there, still being used than any other brand boat…but good luck with YOUR choice.
If I had the ability to buy one of these fantastic looking boats, it would need a tower, it just looks odd without one!

Good old Yamaha CLUNCK when Shifting. Great Boat but id change the Power.
I was told Yamaha was the most reliable?

I would rather have this than even the Scout 53!
I agree ☺️
@@JustinLeeMarine Speaking of Scout I just saw today that they are coming out with a 67ft 😳

Dude literally just switched the arrows to the wrong position
Lol. You mean the right position. They were backwards when we got the boat. 🤗

Arrows go with the direction of the anchor rope, anchor down - arrow forward. anchor up - arrow backwards.
Sounds like the Grady white is not up to snuff, I mean with something simple as a switch, ...and yes I have been a whaler man for a while
