This is so much more than a fishing boat. This Grady White 386 Canyon is an evolution of the previous model the 376 Canyon. This is a mature design based on a very solid platform that has the ability to perform many tasks for the user.
I bet that many of you would see a boat like this as the hull that performs multiple duties from fancy day boat to island tender and of course a fishing or watersports platform - heck i'd even use this as a camera boat for offshore yacht racing as she'd be great for downwind runs with a camera crew.
So whatever your mission is my point on the Grady White 386 is that she'll likely do a bloody good job of meeting your goals in all kinds of sea states.

Dan, another great video! Given a previous video regarding Grady-white's claim to have the best hull period. I think this video confirms that it is the best hull period! Also, for our Grady we only use the trim tabs to correct a list due to weight distribution or more people riding on one side of the boat. We use the engine tilt to raise or lower the bow. Seakeeper on a Grady is overkill but I could see how it would come in handy when drift fishing or trolling. A true test of a boat hull is when other people ask if they can drive the boat. The hull does the work, just turn the boat in the direction you want to go and the hull does the rest.

I think what really made me notice this brand was the day we ran a Grady into very still NE Breeze and just sat happy at 27kts beating through some serious waves that would stop most boats in their tracks

Dan, great review as usual. Im starting to really like these Gradys...especially the ride. If you get an opportunity test the new 345 DC Freedom. Comparing that to the 33 Southport DC and the 35 Calypso DC.
