An essay typically is made up of multiple paragraphs. So, you would have an introduction paragraph, body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. Hope this helps!

I think it may be confusing to the reader to have 2 body paragraphs on similarities and then only 1 on differences. You want your essay to have a nice, balanced feeling. Hopefully this helps 😃!
Yes. It can have many body paragraphs. The 3 body paragraphs is just the beginning. Be certain that each body paragraph has a specific focus. The more academic or more advanced your writing becomes - the longer your papers will be, typically. Although, this is NOT always the case. It depends on the class/subject and the purpose of the paper as well. With a four page essay, you will be able to go into much more detail, which will lead to more paragraphs. @@michaelpereyra3415 Ok, thank you for that response. Are you at the college level or beyond? What are the guidelines for your paper? When writing a comparative research paper, most likely you are comparing 2 things. You would definitely need to use the comparison/contrast vocabulary/transition words at the very least. As for the structure of your paper - since I am not similar with what your teacher wants - I would say, in general, make sure your thesis CLEARLY states your position about what you are comparing and that your paragraphs are focused on specific points of comparison. Just make a communication research,😆. I just thought that having a different approach can make my paper standout😅 since not all can think of something like a comparative research hehe. Remember, as long as your thesis is CLEAR and STRONG and that your paragraphs stay on topic with very specific, well-documented support, you will have an excellent paper. Hello, what about when we focus on both similarities and differences(the third example of thesis statement you gave) how would it be organized into paragraphs?
When I am teaching students how to do this - I tell them to write: 1. an introduction paragraph 2. a similarities paragraph 3. a differences paragraph 4. a conclusion paragraph. This format is not as common, but I have found, over the years that this is an easy format for students to grasp when just beginning to write essays. I hope this helps you.
