    Just bought my third computer from System76. Done business with them since 2012. You are correct, support is very good. Ya I could build the machine I just bought for half the price but the lifetime support is what I am buying when I do business with them. And you get to support open source and a company supporting open source .

      Same here. Just ordered a 3rd. Went with Oryx Pro. I was a linux newbie when I first started and wanted a platform that just worked. Best laptops I've ever owned!!!!

    Runs great on my old HP Z620 with dual Xeons from 2012. Great way to keep an old machine useful.

    I switched to popOS last week - one on a 2014 MacBook Pro that was practically unusable in macOS - the other was a miniPC that had Windows 11 on it. Both machines are now running popOS. The Cosmic App Store is a big improvement over the Pop Store. It's available right now via the Pop Store if you want to kick the tires and test it out.

      That is awesome and inspiring to hear that you’ve used it on more than one machine. I definitely will check out the new App Store! Thank you.

    My Ryzen 5 5300 HP 250 runs slick on Pop!OS and has done for +1year. Highly recommended.

      That is impressive. I would like to make it my daily driver as well.

      @@RandyHanley I am a distro hopper and have been hopping distros since 2004. Last night I just built a new desktop PC using a Mini ITX form factor. I like this simplified OS for my needs. Thanks to System 76 developers. I will soon try switching my Android Pixel to GrapheneOS.

    Pop does offer a maximize button. It is found in settings, desktop, desktop options. I just installed Pop os last night on my MSI.

      I came here to mention this. Glad to see it already mentioned. I still install Gnome Tweaks out of habit, but I don't think I have actually used it in a few years.

      So, I’m guessing this is a Linux variant?

    I spent the last 2 days trying to get arch/KDE to act the way I want it. It's probably my fault but I had so many display/audio/bluetooth/nvidia issues I finally gave up, wiped the drive and installed Pop OS. It's been 45 minutes and my computer is doing all the normal things I want to do. There are some things I don't like about pop but as long as it works and stays out of my way I'll keep it.

      Thank you for sharing your experience. That is really good to know. It does seem like a very compatible OS as far as hardware goes and that’s the experience I’ve also had.

    I've used Pop off and on 2 or 3 times over the past couple of years. My only pain point was the Pop Shop. Yes, it runs nicely at first. But after a couple of months something always goes wrong with it. The Shop has never been THE reason for me to move away from Pop, but it is the only consistent and repeatable one. Hoping that the Cosmic version will be better.

      @RandyHanley  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The new version is supposed to be much, much faster and better!. Great points because yes, the pop shop can sometimes be glitchy.

    I wonder that I have POP_OS v22, it will update to v24 or not?

    • @theseal6681
      @theseal6681 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I am not sure about that since pop os 24 will have the cosmic de and not gnome with extensions, maybe they could make a script to be able to update successfully but it's going to be extremely complicated.

    Pop shop is really bad, every time you type a char in the search box it waits for a net request response which sometimes take seconds before a redraw. I haven't seen a worse design in a long time.

      It’s so much faster in the upcoming version though. I know what you are saying.
