HSE, Health and safety are a nightmare, and they are getting worse, a junior role years ago some people have been elevated way past their intelligence level and the money they get paid gives them ideas above there knowledge to.
Often misinterpreting rules and the "Law" and some cost the companies a fortune in BS "knowledge"

Security guard deserves points. He was great.
He knew his job, and was polite, and didn't try to give you any directives.
One thing I have noticed is that the Police recently seem to have become more clued-up about Drone Law. Mostly we now get "I am going to Police" and then no one turns up and the manager is never seen again (as happened today). Even when the Police do turn up they normally understand the Law and have to advise the complainant that Auditor (i.e. DJ) is in the right and then they go.
Yes if the police treat drone flying the same as burglary or assault... I.E. turn up 3 days later.. Mr drone flyer will be gone and no one will remember any details

I think it’s fair for a safety manager to come out but he should have had a better attitude. Also he should have spent 5 minutes of his life leading up to being a safety manager by researching camera and drone laws.

He could have, and should have approached that very differently and absolutely shouldn't be saying things like "I'm not going to allow you . . " as that could very well be construed as a threat of violence (especially as he has zero authority to do so) as that is the only way he could stop you..

Not been watching these auditing videos for long. Just come up so decided I’d have a look. Find them really interesting to be fair. What does amaze me is the amount of people who do not know the laws in this country..mainly security staff and even police.

No one knows all the laws, there's an awful lot you know. This may be of personal interest to yourself, but now imagine laws you have no interest in.. Are you clued up on torts for instance?
There's a reason this chap doesn't fly over property most of the time. I mean, he provocatively says he's going to send the drone over - but do you notice that most of the time he hovers away from the property and films into it?
DJ may not be breaking criminal laws, but he's on dodgy civil grounds - and knows it.

DJ mate I can honestly tell you that ice would never be an issue. I worked as a contractor for Shell oil in Ellesmere port. I used to go on site to grit the footpaths. What would happen is if there is a threat of ice Via the weather report I would be phoned very early that morning & I mean early like 1-2 am I would then drive to the site if it was my turn being on call and grit all the footpaths before any staff entered site. Most large companies will do this weather it's via contract with the local council or a private company. For safety reasons.

@@mrpaul5726where there's one there's more. These issues are 9 times outta 10 a company wide issue. If it's prevalent on this site, then it's fair to assume that's the status quo across the board and most sites bar the bare minimum are the exact same, at least in terms of managers.

There's something up With managerial positions. 99% of locations across all industry is managed by someone with no people, de-escalation or even job title related skills. They skimp through the day and are rarely seen doing anything of value. They're the first to step in when there's an altercation but they make things worse not better. The list grows , my point being anyways I kinda agree with the other guy. The issue doesn't begin and end with the one person in this video, it extends across the entirety of mcvities.

WOW that safety manager needs to go on a course to learn about what it means to be on public land/property, in this day and age, TBH I wouldnt feel safe in a working enviroment with somebody like that in charge of my safety, if he can not understand a simple thing like flying a drone is legal and he can not stop the person flying it or even filming, then there is no way he can actualy keep people safe in a dangerous work enviroment.

That safety manager was a proper Hob Nob. He just wasn't prepared to digest the information you tried to give him.
That woman sounded just like Nadja off of what we do in the shadows.
Parking enforcement had epaulets and a bike that is NOT legal as he was clearly able to accelerate to quite a speed without pedalling, he also was using one and it looks like he mounted the footpath at the last second.
The guy that came out just didn't want to listen and showed the company in a bad light, he didn't care about the actual law and thinks he can make up his own laws, I'd have said I can't allow you to wear a watch and then explained it means nothing and you can't stop him wearing a watch and it's no different to him saying he can't allow you to fly the drone because he can't stop you.
Second lady was very nice and showed the company in a good light.
