The pin & collar inside the slider of the cell holder is spring loaded. Once the length is set, you can pull it back with two fingers on the tapered surface. It would have been nicer if there was a lever or larger surface so you can pull it back with one hand while changing out the cell with the other. You absolutely need to set the jig tight on the cell, so that the cell is pressed firmly by both the inside little pin and the outside tapered surface. Otherwise, all 4 wire connections are not connected. The short leads is something I noted some time ago when I first saw them advertised. It's the same with the Kelvin clips. Why not give us one or two more inches beyond the Y split? One thing you can do is warm the cable and straighten it. It's quite stiff and retains the shape it was in the box. Otherwise, it fights for it's kinked shape you when you try to use it.
I do use items from time to time, it really depends on what I am working on, a lot of this stuff is pretty specialised and has limited use, and if i'm not too familiar with it sometimes I would rather just get on with it and don't record video.
It's a "winter jumper", Scott. Good quality incandescent lamps are getting hard to find, not that many manufacturers left. If you got the PC software for the 488Analyzer I would love to get a copy of it. Regards, David
@@TheDefpom Is that something you would be willing to post somewhere or do you have a link? I have been unable to find it. I can run it in Windows 98SE on my Dolch Pac (which also has an ISA GPIB card and HP Instrument Basic for Windows - gives away MY age a bit 😊). Regards, David
I do enjoy watching your channel !
I enjoy tinkering with many 2way radios and whatnot !
Very Informative content 👍🏼
Merry Xmas and all the best for 2025!
Best to keep a few spare heating elements for the de-soldering machine. Eventually, they become scarce. Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅🤶

Nothing makes me think of genre-defining hardcore electronic music like an xmas jumper.
It has been snowing here in Canada since November with windchills of -40c well before Dec 21st.

I've only found a version based on DOS, V1.30, I think that gives away its age a bit LOL.
