      @andrewdunn8778 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I mean, guns make clicking noises when empty because there's no bang. A revolver filled with dud bullets would definitely be making a clicking noise when you pull the trigger, it would be the sound of the hammer falling on dud bullets.
      Now, a single action semi-auto wouldn't make more than one clicking noise.

    I looked a little too deep into the sources of the factual stories and found some stuff. firstly the stories are VERY loosely related to the actual event that transpired. Secondly, most of the events took place in a time before they would be well documented on the internet. the show derives some of their true stories from an author by the name of Robert Tralins. Don't look up his Wikipedia, it's weird. Anyways, as far as I could tell, Tralins conducted "first hand research" to collect his stories and compiled them into a book called "Strange Events Beyond Human Understanding". I also looked on another website and the first entry(?) gave a good explanation about the legitimacy of the factual stories (I'll leave a link under this) seems to me like they took very mundane stories and picked out all of the important details, or rather they examined them as if they hadn't been solved yet. for example, in the episode "The Portrait" the tale that is being reference to is what I believe to be about the artist Caravaggio. he just murdered people. it wasn't a coincidence. however it may have seemed as so in the 1600's when detective work was kinda lacking. there's also an episode about a boy "disappearing" in a closet (not from this video). The show makes it seem that the boy magically vanished, and no one knew how. except they did. there was a hole in the closet covered by some wood(?) and he went through and hid in the neighbors house. so yea in conclusion, the stories (according to Robert Tralins) are kinda true, but the show dramatizes them drastically. :)

    • @destinyl8918
      @destinyl8918 2 ปีที่แล้ว +51

      also Caravaggio's Wikipedia claims that he, and I quote, "He died in 1610 under uncertain circumstances while on his way from Naples to Rome." so I think the show just speculated that he intentionally ended his life 😅

    • @destinyl8918
      @destinyl8918 2 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      FURTHERMORE......... the portrait episode might as well not be about Caravaggio. that guy was from the 1600s, there's no WAAYY that enough was documented to recreate the story on the show. 90% of that story is fake, but they make you believe it's "true" because it's barely referencing to events from centuries ago.

    • @destinyl8918
      @destinyl8918 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      I MEAN..... there's NO WAY, that events could happen with such specificity and be hardly uncoverable through the web. if there was actually a painter who killed people with portraits,,,,,, WE WOULDNT BE FINDING OUT ABOUT IT ON A SHOW FROM THE 90s!!!
      all in all, (and I hope this is my last comment) the show is kinda bs, it's fun to watch no doubt but technically all of the stories are fictional :/

    I'm actually very fascinated by the world they've set up in the story about the painter. I don't care that it's super loosely it's based on real events, I just think there's something very compelling about a reluctant artist grappling with his own doubts while he tries to help end people's suffering and honor their wishes. Plus where he draws the line of who to paint, like we see here after he paints Michelle. I just think there's a lot there that could be explored in a longer piece, maybe a series. I could almost see it as like a bittersweet short anime.

    Idk if you’re interested in having another series to feature on your show but there’s one we used to watch that might have been called 1000 Ways to Die (?) and I think it has the same concept where the viewer can guess which story is true or false/decide which seemingly unassuming or strange cause of death actually occurred.
